Live Unplugged Worship-Comfort

The Vineyard label's CDs are popular for their fresh rhythms and intimate lyrics; Comfort is no exception. Featuring acoustic guitar, some light percussion, and piano, the sounds are simple and meditative, the perfect medium for the message they bring. On this disc, classics such as "Psalm 9" and "Arms of Love" make a welcome appearance, while newer songs such as "Get Up," with only a chorus punctuating a soft rap, showcase Vineyard's eclecticism. The collection's emphasis is best summed up in the lyrics of "Arms of My Father": "There is a place that I know / Where I need more often to go / A place of amazing comfort and rest / Where I lack for nothing / When I can see the love in Your eyes / And know that it's all for me." Whether you are in search of relaxation and a recentering after a hectic day or simply in need of some good consolation in the midst of hard times, Comfort is sure to draw you back to a heart of worship. --Courtenay Kehn --This text refers to the Audio CD edition.

2 out of 5 stars a rap?.......2004-04-09

yes, the first song features a rap. no doubt, the heart behind this was good, but the rap was a bit silly. after the first couple of songs, the cd is ok, but doesn't compare to the first two in the series. i guess i felt the first two were more sincere... but who am i to judge the sincerity of the album? that's just how i feel about it...

5 out of 5 stars PHENONMENAL!!.......1998-11-03

Vineyard Cafe-Comfort, is probably the best CD yet in the Cafe series. The music is great- upbeat and lively- and the meaning of the words really gets your heart focused on God. This has proven to be a real asset to me on my long commutes to school and work!! The music is great to use in contemporary worship settings- the teenagers in our youth group love it!! Thank you Vineyard!!
