This album is great, but I'm looking for a song that either the Mississippi childrens choir sung or Mississippi Mass Choir sung. I believe it goes: As I travel down lifes highway, of trials great and small, I often wonder to myself if the journey is worth it all. All the pain I must endure, sometimes its much to bare and the only thing that gives me strength, is knowing you really care, so let me take this time to say thankyou lord for every day how you love me and kept me as I travel along lifes way. Your the one who guides my footsteps along this narrow way, so we take this time to worship and to you oh lord we pray.(If anyone knows this sone, please email udeebear1984@yahoo.com! God Bless!

Truly the Greatest.......2001-07-20

This is an excellent CD for multiple reasons. Primarily, the presence of God was felt while I was listening to it and it was evident that that choir is anointed by God. The sound quality of the choir in this CD is excellent and music is outstanding. The singers are also superior to other mass choirs, especially their soloistic abilities. The CD is very fluid and connected, much like a live CD. The length of the CD is ideal and some of the songs remind me of the old, C.O.G.I.C.-type of church. Overall, this is a superior CD and a must to buy.

These songs were good. I especially like "I Remember Mama" because it brings back some of the times I shared with my mother and how she kept our family together. Great collection of gospel songs.

This is a CD that always reminds me of my parents (that are now gone to be with the Lord).I really love this CD and had it before but couldn't find mine, so when I saw it on Amazon had to order it.

Even Balance.......2002-08-07

The material does contain an even balance of traditional elements with a shade of contempary. Yet, not so contempary in that it reveals an originality that does not offend the serious believer. Actually it is my thought that any gospel artist recording and creating should be mindful not to militate agains what the Scriptures teach. Perhaps this is an earnest attempt with this album.

Traditional and Timeless.......2002-04-13

For all you gospel traditionalists, this is a must-have. I find it hard to appreciate a lot of contemporary gospel. I tend not to be able to reconcile the compulsion to dance/react in ways similar to when I listen to secular music. In general, choirs and more traditional gospel are what move me. And, this CD is like no other, in that regard. "Yes," reminds you how easy, amazing and blessed it is to it give all to Christ; for your soul to say, "yes." I encourage you to purchase this CD, you will not be dissapointed. It flows very comfortably, and at the same time rouses the spirit. You'll listen to it three times straight before you ever take it out.

These members are indeed Angelic voices from Heaven. They bring joy to ones soul. I've found myself truly able to meditate and receive a Blessing from the Lord. This and every recording remind me the the very talented Frank Williams. I was listening to "Near The Cross" the other day, and was reminded of how I would love to sing with this choir. I hope that the Rev. James Moore record other songs with the choir in the near future. His voice is of true harmony. I'm not sure if the review is affective as the choir would like, but it is of truth. Unitl we meet again. Praise The Lord On High.

Just like one of the other reviewers, it took me a minute to get into the cd as well. My favorites are #'s 1,2,4,8, and 10. I am teaching #'s 2,8, and 10 to my choir now. Our Women's Choir learned #4 last summer. The songs have sorta an "old school traditional" feel to them that can minister to older and younger members alike.

It Had To Grow On Me.......2005-12-19

I am not going to lie. When I first bought this album, I really was not feeling it. It took me a few times of listening it to it over and over again to get use to it. I have to agree with previous reviewers, the songs do soung like Georgia Mass Choir rejects and it is not their normal style but they sound a lot better than the Georgia Mass Choir. The Songs I really love are One More Day, The Next Time Wil Be The First Time, I'm Not Tired Yet, When We Get Up, Victory Shall Be Mine, But By My Spirit, and Place Called There. These songs just really take you to church. I had taught my choir 3 songs from the album and my pastor and church just loves them. If you are looking for some hand-clapping, foot-stomping, holyghost filled music then please purchase this CD.

I LOVE THIS CD. THE MISSISSIPPI MASS CHOIR IS THE BEST MASS CHOIR IN THE WORLD. I LOVE THE MUSIC THAT THEY SING. EVERY SONG THEY SANG IS AWESOM. THIS CD IS AWESOME AND YOU WILL SEE WHY:

"ONE MORE DAY" is the perfect song to open the cd. This song is one of my favorite songs in the world.
"GOD IS KEEPING ME" is a nice song too. It is good.
"THE NEXT TIME WILL BE THE FIRST TIME" is my song. this songs ministers to me everytime that I hear it. Beverly Crawford did an excellent job on lead. "
I'M NOT TIRES YET" is one of the songs that you just expect from the Mississippi Mass Choir. This song is my favorite song on the cd.
"I'M STILL HERE" is the best song. I love this song. When I first heard this song I love it. This song is awesome.
"WHEN WE GET UP" is my favorite song. I love the lead on this song. Lilly lilan. She is so awesome. I love her voice. This is my personal favorite song.
"VICOTRY SHALL BE MINE" is an awesome song. You expect something like this from them and they did an excellent job.
"IF I BE LIFTED UP" is the best song on the song. I love it. The words just ministry to me. I love this song.
"BUT BY MY SPIRIT" is a powerfl song. I love it.
"YOU BROUGHT ME" is not really a good song.
"PLACE CALLED THERE" is a good song.
"THANK YOU FOR MY MANSION" is just a remake of the 1st time that they did it. I still love it.
"IT WAS WORTH IT ALL" is a nice song to end this cd

THIS CD IS AWESOME. ITS DOES GET WEAK AT THE END OF THE CD BUT OTHER THAN THAT I LIKE IT.

I agree with God's Son "God's Son" comments. The cd was not as the previous Mississippi Mass Choir albums. I was waiting for some praise and worship but what I got was songs I can sing in church with the musicians. The songs was not effective to me. I like track #1, 2, and 5. Hopefully there next album will be better. MMC DON'T GET TIRED YET!!!

Gospel Music Never Grows Old!.......2004-12-12

The album may be seventeen years old but its message is timeless. Though Kirk Franklin, Yolanda Adams, and Donnie McClurkin may be more familiar to contemporary audiences, they owe a debt to The Mississippi Mass Choir, one of the forerunners in the current explosion of chart-topping Christian artists.

The songs on the album range from the funky gospel of "Call Him Up, Parts I and II" to the foot-stomping beat of "I Just Can't Tell You (How Good He's Been)" to the traditional sound of such crowd-pleasers as "Near the Cross" and "I'm Pressing On."

The "live" audience strengthens the experience of this true classic gospel album.

The best Gospel Choir!!.......2001-12-06

The Mississippi Mass Choir is truly a blessing from God. There is no sound like them, not a one can touch the great sounds of this choir. There music is on c.d. is great, it's even better when you hear and see them live in concert. The songs "Fix what's broke" is the best on the Emmanuel c.d! and "They got the word" is great too. But the sounds of Frank Williams , no one can touch his voice, "Near the Cross" makes you want to dance all night long . Choir keep it up , and good luck on your next project!

Truly uplifting.......2000-09-04

I first came across the Mississippi Mass Choir on cassette. This is a truly uplifting choir. My two most favorite songs are "Having You There" and "Near the Cross". Whenever I feel a little discouraged I simply play this tape and I begin to realize that I am not alone in my struggle and that God is with me every step of the way. As the song says "Having you there made the difference.....". I recommend this CD to anyone who loves gospel music and wants to be inspired to keep the faith.

He Can Fix What Is Broke, has really been a blessing to me. Thank you MS MASS for a job well done. This particular song is really a testimonial song for myself as well as another choir member in which we will be doing lead on. Oh I can't seem to tell you how much this song has really given my spirit man a lift, and gave me hope that whatever I am going thru, God not only can fix, but He already has fixed my problems. such as sickness, heartbrokeness, rejection, abuse etc., Oh I thank God for delieverance. To you who are hurting just give it to Jesus and I am a witness that if you do, He can fix whatever. Glory to Jesus, all you have to do is to call upon Him, and as Sis Rogina says with such powerful anointing, He Can Fix What is Broke.......Be Blessed in the Lord, and if you haven't purchased this cd you need to add it to you collection,

Hey Everybody!!! If you think LISTENING to this song rocks your spirit, check out the VIDEO!!! I have it and seeing the choir in action will REALLY get you on your feet and dancing for the Lord!!! Everytime I see it, I CANNOT sit still!!! Tears roll down my face ( tears of JOY ) and I sing and dance my heart out!!! Also, I don't know if it will work, if all else fails, put your TV on closed caption and maybe, just MAYBE, the words will appear on the bottom of your screen! Not their best work........2003-12-18

I am a huge fan of the Mississippi Mass choir. So you can understand my disappointment when popped this one into the deck. The album does not sound like the Mississippi Mass that I am accustomed to. It sounded like they needed more time with the material before they recorded. The first cut "Come let us adore Him" was not up to par. The choir's vocals came across sloppy, especially in the higher register. It wasn't crisp; I could actually distinguish individual voices drifting past the end of chorus break, which is unusually for this award-winning choir. In "Lord your Holy" the unison singing that they open with doesn't flow; it sounds unnatural. I was not impressed with the title track "Amazing Love". It was an original tune by a fresh writer, but as unique as the chorus and vamp were, I still wasn't feelin' it. The most disappointing part of the album was the mini sermon by Rev. Cone. Usually his story gives you something to think about, this one made me think about returning the album. I would rather have had the whole song at the end and heard 1 minuet of that sermon than vice versa. Where was Milton Biggham when all the work for this project was going on? Was he too busy with Georgia Mass?

The albums salvageable tracks are few. Their rendition of "America the Beautiful" is a good song. It reminded me of LA Mass's "Glory Hallelujah, His truth is Marching On" from the late 80's. The illustrious voice that you spend all album waiting for is in the song "Holding On,(I wont let go my faith). I believe this is her 3rd Mississippi Mass home run. The song finishes perfect, but then is injured by an unrealistic praise session. The instruments come in too soon as if it were on the sheet music, far too orchestrated. A song that was almost salvageable is "We Give You All the Praise" because of the passionate vamp, but they incredibly cut it short (if any song was going to go past 6 minuets, this should have been the one. They could have cut that ending from "Lord You're Holy" instead).

A few songs were reminiscent of the Mississippi Mass that I once new, such as "Lord I Thank You" and I Get Excited" but that was only after listening for about a week (they grew on me). While spinning this album I checked more then once disputing if Jerry Smith and David Curry wrote any of this material or if Dorcuss composed at all during this project, which according to the credits they did. Overall, this album is not up the late Frank Williams' standard for this renowned choir. It definitely is not their best work.
: If your looking for their best work, look into the albums "God Gets the Glory", "I'll see you in the Rapture" and their prior album "Emmanuel". Those are the albums I will remember them by until their next release.

The MS Mass Choir delivers once again. "A Widow's Love" is a must hear. It brought tears to my eyes.

I love it when you go back to the old gospel where everyone can understand. "Holding On - And I won't let go my Faith" is just a testimony within itself. When I first heard it on the radio, my husband and I was wondering, who we were going to give it to in our choir and who can give it justice like she did on the CD. Sometimes, you have to reach back and get some of those old beats in order to catch some listeners because it sure caught me.

When I first learned that the MMC was going to record another cd, the only thing I could say was "Thank You Lord." I knew for myself that it was going to be another blessed album. After the long wait(it was truly worth it) I went to the music store and purchased it. After I put it in the music player in the car I could tell after the first song that this album was going to be "Off The Hook." All of the songs on the cd are my favorite I can't just pick one because they all are so good. From the first song "Come Let Us Adore Him" which is a very upbeat and modern to "A Widow's Love" a sermonette filled with much meaning and is delivered by a dynamic preacher. The other songs truly tell us about God's "Amazing Love." I recommend this album for both young and old because it has a little bit for both world's wrapped into one. It also gives powerful meaning and inspiration to those who seek it. 2 songs I would recommend for anyone that feels down and out are "By Grace" and "Holding On(And I Won't Let Go My Faith." I chose these 2 songs because they let us know that it was only By His Goodness and His Grace that brought us this far and inspite of what the enemy tries to do to keep you from being about Our Father's business Hold On and Don't Let Go Of Your Faith. If you buy this blessed and inspirational album you won't regret it and it will truly be worth all of the money you spent on it.

I don't remember how I got this cd. I'm not even sure whether this choir is a combination of several other choirs or just one huge group. What I do know is that this is a wonderful cd, and one of my favorites. Sometimes, in the car, I will put on track #13 (The Lord Keeps Blessing Me) and it lifts up my spirit and makes me sing and wave and I don't care if the people in the next car are staring. It transports me to a place-- a big concert hall half-full of choir and half-full of audience-- where the music and spirit are alive.

If you haven't listened to Gospel music, this might be a good place to start.

Inspiring & moving!!.......1998-12-09

This CD stays in my car and I listen to it on my way to work and wherever else I go. It is so moving and inspiring that tears come to my eyes each time I hear the songs. This is definitely a collector's item and I think it is one of the best CD's they've made. To God be the glory!!

I've had this CD for a couple years now. My favorite song is Keep Oil in Your Lamp. An awesome song! This CD is a definite must for your gospel music collection.

Jesus paid it all is the song of the century! Why? Because it tells and sings forth the truth of the word of God. This album has the anointing of the Holy Ghost on it like fire! It's almost like stepping into the gates of Heaven and dancing in the presence of God. His presence is sooo awesome and wonderful, and singing in his presence is a priveledge, not a right. God is so holy and just, and this album rightly expresses his goodness.

This is one the all time best gospel releases whether in an adult or children's category. Every song is packed with meaning, purpose and power.

I adore this album so much. I love the Mississippi Children's Choir. They truly exalt and bless the name of the Lord with all of their might. It seems that they love what they do and it's not for show. I love that about them. I love every song and do not dislike it a bit. I especially love the song "His Eye is on the Sparrow". The person who sings it has a very powerful voice behind them. I love the fact that every album that the choir comes out with has a message of getting the word of God out there and ministering to other youth about how good God truly is. I wonder when the next album comes out. Keep up the great ministering. God bless.
