1 out of 5 stars NO VIBE.......2004-11-03

Why would anyone listent to this crap. They are worse than the backstreet boys and nsync combined. There just another stupid boy band with crappy lyrics. Unless you like teeny bopper music i would not bother buying this CD

5 out of 5 stars true vibe.......2003-10-12

I love True Vibe. They have positive messages in their music and sing great!! Their beat has a really cool 'vibe' in it. If you like a lot of boy bands, get them!!! They are way better than Plus One. Their songs are really cool and danceable. hope this was helpful :)

5 out of 5 stars You'll get a good vibe from this album!.......2003-08-31

Boy bands made a big comeback towards the end of the 1990s, starting with Hanson, followed by Backstreet Boys, 'NSync, 98 Degrees, and many, many more.

In 2001, contemporary Christian music (CCM) saw two boy bands come on the scene.

Founded by 98 Degrees founder Jonathan Lippman, True Vibe joined Plus One to become the first boy bands CCM had ever seen. With sounds compared to other secular boy bands, both groups quickly rose to the top of the charts. Unlike their counterpart, however, True Vibe went down a slightly different path.

From the beginning, True Vibe chose to forego videos for the most part. In addition, their concerts were void of much of the dance moves found in other boy bands. Instead, True Vibe focused on their music and lyrics, seeking to get their message across without all of the pomp and circumstance. The lack of videos and dance moves doesn't seem to have dulled the enthusiasm of their fans.

This self-titled debut album quickly introduces you to the harmony that this foursome is capable of producing. From toe-tapping pop-rock songs "Now and Forever" and "Never Again" to smooth flowing ballads "Sweet Jesus" and "You Found Me," True Vibe fires on all cylinders.

Like their CCM boy band counterpart, True Vibe is also going through changes. At the time of this review, founder Jonathan Lippman is looking for the final replacement for the group after he and the other three members went their separate ways in mid-2003. While I do not doubt that the new make-up of the group will be just as good as the original, it won't be the same. For that reason alone (though there are many, many other reasons), you should add this debut album to your collection.

4 out of 5 stars Awesome.......2003-02-01

I love this cd, True Vibe has just the right mix of slow and fast, with beautiful ocupela on the last song. I would definately recomend this cd to anyone who likes good music.

5 out of 5 stars Fantastic.........2003-01-10

Wow.. This CD is absolutely amazing. The harmonies rock and the lyrics are so inspirational. I luv their sophisticated sound that reminds me much of 98 Degrees, my favourite band. :D

I definitely recommend it.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars I've seen the light.............2003-12-07

This is the second album of the Contemporary Christian Music (CCM) boy-band TRUEvibe. And it is the last album for the group...... at least for Jason, Nathan, and Jordan. Approximately a year after the release of this album, these guys parted ways with founder Jonathan Lippmann, who at the time of this review is finishing the process of replacing the guys.

"See The Light" is a great follow-up to their self-titled 2001 debut album. While the sound of this sophmore album is very similar to the first one, the lyrics are much more heartfelt. The majority of the songs this time around were co-written by one or more of the guys.

The best song on the album, at least in my opinion, is the final track. "Not What I Say (But What I Do)" is a catchy acappella song about how, as Christians, it's not what we say about Jesus that is important, but what we do. Demonstrating God's love is what it's all about.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome CD!.......2003-07-11

This CD has everything: pure and spiritual songs, a variety of rhythms, good voices and the grace. The songs "You are Holy" and "Forgiven" are especially beautiful to me because they describe God's character: a merciful and loving Father who wants us to grow in Him. If you love God with passion, you will definitely enjoy this CD!

5 out of 5 stars What not to like?.......2003-04-22

This CD is a great one! Everything about is spirit-lifting, and enjoyable. It takes today's music, and stillpresents it with God's name. My favorite songs on THIS CD are "You Are Holy;" "Stay;" "See The Light;" "Complete;" "Pray;" and "Everytime."

Be sure to pick this up!

5 out of 5 stars THIS CD IS HOTT!.......2003-03-10

hey, this is a pop Gospel cd U GOTTA OWN! YA HEARD this cd is cool i luv it from the thing i got it i luv the song Forgiven Get it It's HOTT!!

5 out of 5 stars Soul Searching.......2003-02-01

This Cd is even more amazing than their first one. The lyrics to songs like pray, every time, and forgiven, are so moving that it almost brought me to tears a few times. And don't forget their ocupela song at the end, that just hits top notch in my books, as do every one of the other songs. You can tell that this group is a sold-out for God christian band, and they're not afraid to show it. It's some of the best music i've ever heard.

              Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Funny and you can dance to it.......2000-02-15

Funny, cogent, sometimes poignant lyrics combined with diverse musical styles (reggae, girl group, rap, etc.) "Ode to Ally McBeal" IS about the show, and is angry, but rather sympathetic to Ally herself. Also quite funny. Potential single hit. Lead singer Susannah Perlman has a good, strong voice.

For Immediate Release OAKLAND, CA-BASED TRUE VIBE RECORDS TO Re-Launch PARADISE PRESENTS JAZZ FUNK HIP HOPOETRY NATIONALLY ON April 2, 2007 On April 2nd, 2007, Oakland, CA Indie True Vibe Records will re-launch Paradise Presents Jazz Funk Hip HoPoetry nationwide. The exciting musical changes and remixing have raised this phenomenal music to its full potential, and if the very enthusiastic response from radio, Internet Radio, and retail is any indication, then Jazz Funk Hip HoPoetry is set to explode! Please check the True Vibe Records website at www.trueviberecords.com for all the exciting reviews of the CD. Produced by composer/musician Bill Jackson in collaboration with Bay Area slam poetry icon Paradise, Jazz Funk Hip HoPoetry represents the shape of all great spoken word music that will come. The genesis of Jazz Funk Hip HoPoetry was Bill Jackson's pilgrimage to Senegal 's Goree Island. Visiting the holding pens for African captives during the slave trade there brought on a spiritual awakening. "I was inspired to provide an alternative," says Jackson. "Something that musically could match what's out there but has more social consciousness, more political awareness. I chose Paradise because he has an intense, almost unparalleled talent for spoken word and rap, but I need to emphasize, he has a real positive spirit and he refrains from negativity." "I consider myself Middle School," says Paradise. "Old School flava with New School twist. I want to carry the torch for my generation and follow the path of music from spiritual to blues, soul, R&B, funk and hip hop from this particular Black man's perspective." Indeed, from album opener, How to Be a Black Man in America?s (now an extended remix) dynamic fusion of hard electro-funk and polemic freestyle rhyme to the warmly humorous braggadocio of Equal Opportunity Lover (now with added percussive rhythm of conga drums) to the joyful bumptiousness of African-American heroes tribute Keepers of the Flame to Cocoa Venus?s intoxicating, sultry Afro-Latin groove that moves like the beautiful women of color it exalts, this CD bridges the generation gap. It's Ok to Be a Black Girl and Ain't Yo Mama Black are thought-provoking, soul- stirring celebrations of Black womanhood and Africa, the Universal Mother; respectively. The album's tour de force is Two-Minute Warning. "Actually, it's two different songs," muses Paradise. "The first, I Love Everything About You But You, started out as a love song. Then I thought, this is bigger than me and her... and it just turned out to be a little folk song/rap/poem combination. And Two-Minute Warning is a protest about the aftermath of Katrina. In football, you have a two-minute warning before the end of the game and we as Black people after Katrina got a wake up call. We're at that two-minute warning." By Tom Terrell, March 28, 2007
