Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Great, but no prize.......2002-03-31

The selections from the Ring trilogy, Friends in need and Fallen Angel were excellent, however, some of the special request such as joxer the mighty, seemed a little bit rushed. Wasn't that song on Volume 2 already? Where was M'Lila's song from Destiny, or the music played During the first Kiss in "The Quest"
The cd has its good points, personally "It's Over" from "THAB" with its haunting melodies portraying the consequences of war.

5 out of 5 stars Xena;Warrior Princess volume six.......2002-01-09

I am so happy that the last and final cd has come out, now my collection is complete. I am very sad for the show ending, but I am glad to still collect things.

5 out of 5 stars Great Collection.......2001-12-25

Well, I have them all by now, but this last one is a great collection, with the added bonus of the music from A Friend In Need.
Just another fine addition to my Xena collection!

5 out of 5 stars Exceptional.......2001-11-30

I am a fanatic and devoted Xenite.I have a huge problem:i can't stop listening to that cd,since the first time i listened to it,which means 1 month! That cd is really exceptional and i think that every true and genuine Xenite should buy it!It's really good!I was moved when i heard the Fallen Angel part.I was passioned when i heard the Ring Trilogy!I was astonishing when i heard the bonus cues that were included, especially the cue from The Quill Is Mightier(fishin part),oh,i was completely satisfied!
Though, there is a complain:i can't understand, why after 6 cd's,the producers don't do a cd including cues like:M'laila's song, the cues from the Bacchaen festival, music from Deja Vou All Over Again, where in the end,Gabrielle says to Xena those wonderful words,or even the scene of the kiss in The Quest! That,i can't understand it!
Last, i believe that whoever likes LoDuca's music style, should buy this cd.
Pay attention to the 22 cue:Pas De Deux Femmes. It is one of a something and whoever remembers what's the scene of this song, will agree with me!Mmmm!

4 out of 5 stars A MIX OF THE BEST, THE WORST AND THE MISSING.......2001-11-29

To all truly Xena fans this CD is a must-have but have some lacks... Fun (comedy episodes music) scores destroy the the great combination of FALLEN ANGEL, THE RHEINGOLD TRILOGY AND I FRIEND IN NEED. In the first selections LoDuca creates spectacular high level music good enough to be played in a Symphony orchestra concert. The others selections have easy-to-fill-space western cowboy music instead of put M'Lilas song of DESTINY, Amazon's climbing trees of ADVENTURES IN THE SIN TRADE and NAJARA vs XENA music that would be gladly accepted by us. I doubt the company will launch a next CD but if they'll do this track and another valuable more must be there and the adittion of some famous characters quotes like "I have many skills" from Xena.

Album Description

Nine highly acclaimed original baseball story-songs. Among the characters covered on this cd are Eddie Klepp (first white man to play in the Negro Leagues), Moe Berg (a catcher who also was a US spy just before WWII), Max Patkin (Clown Prince of Baseball), Dock Ellis (who pitched a no hitter under the influence of LSD), Richie Allen (booed by racist Philadelphia fans, he'd write "b-o-o" in the dirt in response), Fred Bonehead Merkle (whose baserunning error cost the NY Giants the pennant in 1908), and Eddie Waitkus (shot by a female stalker, his story was the basis for the movie "The Natural").

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Chuck Hits A Home Run.......2005-03-02

I had the pleasure of seeing Chuck perform some of these songs one fine sunny afternoon before a Tourists' game at McCormick field. The music on the CD will make you feel as though your sitting in the bleachers at Wrigley Field in 1967 and the wind is blowing out, and Richie Allen is coming to the plate for the Phillies and you just know that the Cubs are going to lose again, but, hey, the beer is cold and it's not February. It's not all sunshine and apple pie, however, as Chuck covers some of baseballs darker and infamous stories most notably "Letters In The Dirt". Chuck writes with a light and clever touch. You can't help but doff your cap to him.

        Product Description

In addition to the treasures of the past, Steve loves to create new traditions with the tunes that flow from the sweet river. Floating along with his dulcimers, his music is enjoyed througout the US, Europe, the UK, New Zealand and Australia. I Celebrate Life! was inspired by a poem by Jean Ritchie, the 20th century populizer of the mountain dulcimer. The other tracks come from various moods and settings from Eulberg's 25-year adventures with both dulcimers.

          Album Description

Cindy Scott's debut CD "should make anyone take notice," says veteran jazz recording artist Roseanna Vitro. This warm vocal compilation of several well-known standards along with a few lesser known ones will make anyone who appreciates jazz vocals wonder where this delightful singer has been. If you like contemporary jazz artists like Diana Krall or Karrin Allyson, or even the traditional greats like Ella and Sarah, you will appreciate Cindy's CD, the first of hopefully many more to come.

Cindy Scott's CD "major to minor" review

Even if your not a big Jazz fan, this CD is a must buy.
Cindy Scott has released a new debut CD "major to minor" Like the title goes Miss Scott sings various jazz and blues pieces, from high tempo swing to slow happy blues, she Keeps your ears on the headset (or speakers which I think is better) through
          the CD.

Her voice has something that pulls people in. It's clear, very powerful, and it has thispull. Her voice reflects the emotions of the song, from happy to sentimental.

Miss Scott is also accompanied by a wonderful band. Brings out Miss Scott's voice and adds an additional taste to it with beautiful harmonies and skillful solos.

Tired of pop or just plain boring jazz? Looking for something new and that's really good? Want a good CD to add to your collection? Pick up Cindy Scott's "major to minor". You wont regret it.

Playing Time - 51:41 -- If not available here, you might check at: http://www.brendahunter.bizland.com The full, ethereal sound of Brenda Hunter's hammered dulcimer is always front and center on her beautiful solo debut album, "Catching the Mooncoin," which also incorporates some new age sensibilities into the highly-arranged instrumentals. Hunter's fiddle is a little less prominent in the mix. The full ensemble is very meticulous in their approach, and they play with exactitude and panache that fully capitalize on their individual talents. Besides Hunter, 1996 National Hammered Dulcimer Champion, the proficient musicianship of Jill Egland (flute, accordion, whistle), Mary Tulin (6 and 12-string guitars, bouzouki), Michael Mercy (percussion), and Dave Ogden (bodhran) are also showcased. Unlike a rowdy Irish pub session where everyone beats out the melody until it's pulp, this group shares their leads, and they incorporate counter-melodies, harmonies, fills, chordal arpeggios, dynamic rhythms and syncopation.

Whether it's a reflective air (such as O'Carolan's "Planxty Kelly"), bouncy jig or spirited reel, Hunter plays with a poignancy that elicits much emotion. With great finesse, the project opens with a medley of the Monahan and Mooncoin Jigs. Although Hunter's instrument is outfitted with dampers, her dulcimer resonates for extended periods with a full palate of ancient tones at the end of some musical phrases. Her Nick Blanton compact hammered dulcimer has a fully-rounded, rich tone, and she likes that instrument for its "small size and big sound for ensemble playing." I often hear The Bothy Band's version of "Maids of Mitchelstown" on my local public radio station, and I must say that this group's rendition and presentation of the tune is an aural delight.

When the accordion joins the act on "The French Café Set," one might imagine themselves at a sidewalk restaurant in Paris on a cool, brisk fall day. A favorite waltz, "Valse des Jeunes Filles" (Waltz of the Little Girls) is one that my own trio, The Celtic Tradition, also enjoys performing. The band's "Old-Timey Set" (Durang's Hornpipe, Round the Horn, Dancing Bear) is given a fiery, uptempo treatment with some jazz licks but illustrates that the musicians would also be crowd-pleasers at contra dances and similar events. As I sit gazing from my window at the pouring rain on this winter day in Oregon, I had to chuckle, actually grin with glee, at their offering of the pop tune, "Rhythm of the Rain." Perfect merriment for this soggy old Oregon duck!

Brenda, Jill, and Mary play as the trio, Banshee in the Kitchen. They released their debut album ("If We Were Us") in January 2003, toured New York, recorded and produced the current release in June, and toured the Southwest in August. Hunter also released albums in 1995 and 1997, and she will soon publish a book of Irish hammered dulcimer music for Mel Bay Publications. The Bakersfield-based musicians give us a strong, synergistic Celtic offering that follows their inner muse. I look forward to hearing more from them as they continue to build their fan base and play larger venues and festivals. (Joe Ross, Roseburg, Oregon)
