Most Go-Go fans will attest that live music sounds better. But this compilation by Dj Flexx is mostly a Studio mix. It lacks the very essence of Go-Go, which is more than just call and response. But drum and percussion. That's what makes Go-Go so unique. The drum was outlawed during slavery and Go-Go brought it back hard. Dj Flexx brings a more hip-hop feel to this CD. And it lacks the star power to make it a success. There are a few tracks with Chuck Brown, Big Tony, 911, & Backyard that make the high points. Sadly to say there is a lack of new Live Go-Go CD's to buy on the internet. Which puts Go-Go fans that don't live in DC in a precarious position.

      I know that this artist is truly focused on GOD.Hiding Place because we all need shelter from the storms of life. "My Love", that song is inspritational is GOD and GOD is love. The song "The Ruler" is truly a motion picture theme song and it keeps us knowing that GOD rules in the kingdom of men, because there is someone bigger than you and I. This album is a world renowed hit! My newphew J.r. has just graduated from High School and this inspritational C.D. has helped him keep focused through trying times. Because you just can't stop the F-L-E-X-X truly he is a man of GOD!

      I purchased this CD and have almost wore it out playing it. It is absolutely inspired. I love every cut on there, every song is different. The beats are slamming and the lyrics are brilliant and so positive. I especially love the cuts, My Love, and Ain't No Need of Crying. Dance in the Spirit, makes me want to do just that. Excellent new release. "Rap at it's best!" (The CD, So Real, released by Flexx in 97, is also first-rate.)

        i expected a 3.5 stars, cuz thats all you hear now a days, it 2005, i jus bought this cd, and i feel its really cool, ive only heard it once, its not the last, i do suggest who hasn't f---ed wit it yet, do so, its a real west coast album, maniac lok is on top of his game, and im coppin anything from now on by dude aswell as cool nutz, west coast!

        This cd is so tight! "I'm Back" is definately one of the best songs to come out of the Northwest. Check out guest appearances by Cool Nutz and G-Ism. Also, "68 Anthem" is a phat song with a tight, poppin beat. If you like Westcoast thug muzic, check this disc out. I guarantee you wont be disappointed.

        I think this is Portlands/Jus Family Breakout album that is really touchin levels that haven't been touched.As Maniak lok competes with national releases, Maniak and Jus Family leave all the westcoast locals and independents trying to catch up...With Jus Family about 5 years from there founding first release they have 2 outta the best 4 songs to ever come out the Northwest.Coolnutz "what I'm about" and Maniak Lok's "I'm Back"... The other 2 songs are "posses on broadway",and "baby got back"... This album is hands down tight from production,to guest appearences,to song ideas... If you call yourself a fan of rap then get your copy...
