Product Description
In the late 80s and early 90s, R.E.X. Music was just about the coolest label on the planet for Christian hard music. Three of the big names on the roster at that time (in addition to Believer) were Living Sacrifice, Circle of Dust and Brainchild. In 1993, this trio of talent was molded together by the masterful hands of Klay Scott (then Scott Albert) on what became known as Metamorphosis. Remixing industrial was still relatively new at the time; remixing death metal was all but unheard of. And although part of the enduring value of this CD is due to its pioneering spirit, the music stands up in its own right. Over a decade later, the work of Metamorphosis is still held in the highest regard in the scene. This album was originally released on REX Records in 1993 as Brainchild, Living Sacrifice, Circle of Dust: Metamorphosis Remixes.

Circle of Dust and Living Sacrifice and Brainchild, oh my!.......2005-06-13
Ok, I had to have this so badly I went and bought the re-issue. Klay Scott/Scott Albert (the guy behind CoD, Brainchild, and all the remixes) reportedly was VERY against it being rereleased in the manner it was, if EVER. But I have to say I am SO relieved I did. First a tracklist:
01. Brainchild - Deviate [Sawed Off Shotgun Edit]
02. Brainchild - Descend [Pit of Hell Mix]
03. Brainchild - Heldweller
04. Brainchild - Nihilistic Void
05. Living Sacrifice - Void Expression [Blank Stare Mix]
06. Living Sacrifice - Black Veil
07. Living Sacrifice - Distorted [Alternate Reality Mix]
08. Living Sacrifice - Desolate
09. Living Sacrifice - Sacrificed
10. Circle of Dust - Dissolved [Disintigration Dub]
11. Circle of Dust - Consequence [Temporary Mix]
12. Circle of Dust - Consequence [Eternal Mix]
13. Circle of Dust - Self Inflict (NOT the '95 album version)
14. Circle of Dust - Daraq
Wow. Awesome stuff. Anything from Klay Scott is worth buying, period. Aside from that, it's so awesome to see such different takes on favorite songs--like Self Inflict. I think this is the first time it saw the light of day and it and the 95 version are very similar but this one is a bit more chaotic I think and I find I prefer one over the other at times.
Consequence is an amazing song and I just love the two mixes side by side. I think I like Eternal better, the riffs sound AMAZING amped up over the industrial terror that is the rest of the song. Temporary is a more stripped-down, creepier feeling mix at first, then just gets thumping and dancy and groovy.
Dissolved (Disintigration) is like a combination of strategically placed samples (the "Let's Dance!" at the beginning is one of my faves ever) and every nightmare Cher has ever had. Let's leave it at that.
For the Living Sacrifice, Black Veil and Distorted (Alternate Reality) are the standouts. Veil is creepy with the monks chanting and all the crazy samples over the acoustic guitar and stuff... cooool. And Distorted is neat, with Klay's distinctive style over fewer synths and therefore more guitar riffage. He uses a really... catchy sample here to really flesh out the instrumental track.
Of the Brainchild... Hell, I like it all. Deviate and Descend are chugging and dancy and samply and everything you would expect from the heavier thrashier side of CoD that was the Brainchild project. Heldweller and Nihilistic Void, like Daraq and Black Veil (and at that point Self Inflict) had never been released before at all, and to date I don't think ANY of the mixes on this CD can be found anywhere else except maybe the Jack of All Trades boot.
I only wrote this much because I think this music definitely deserves a fair (glowing?) description. If you like metal or industrial at all, you should buy this CD if you can find it. And if you like that, proceed to buy the entire CoD catalog, Argyle Park's Misguided, AP2's Suspension of Disbelief, Chatterbox's Despite, anything Celldweller, Klank's Still Suffering and Downside Remixes (and, OK, Numb too)... ooh, and anything by Klay's brother Level. Verrrry good stuff there. I'm done. *takes deep breath*

One of the best industrial albums ever made!!.......2007-02-15
I don't know why this item has no reviews, so I decided to give it one, even though I'm not an expert on it. I was recommended this album by a list of "best of blah bla" so I decided to try it - and was not disappointed. The drumming is the finest I've heard in a long time, and song composition/flow are excellent (rather than boring, repetitive, predictable, or pointlessly random and disjointed). The only thing I'm not particularly impressed with is the lyrics and vocals, but even still I find them decent - it could just be a matter of personal preference. If you are into any kind of industrial music, by all means give this album a listen!

One of the most incredible albums of the last 20 years.......2005-06-19
First, there are 10 tracks (one a remix) total. And they are UNBELIEVABLE. I let people borrow this album, they love it, then I tell them it's from 1994 and they're blown away! I've listened to a lot of music, and I'm not much into industrial, but this has got to be one of the best albums for anyone who loves metal, industrial, thrash, whatever. I truly feel Klay Scott (or whatever he's going by now) is one of the most brilliant musicians of our time. A little too much praise for him? Not if you listen to this album.
They were billed as a mix between NIN and Ministry. That's fairly accurate. Lots of mixing, synthesizing, clips from movies and politicians. GREAT GREAT guitar riffs, fast drums...I love the way he makes clips into music. I've really never heard anything like it but wish there was a second CD with the same sound.
Get this album. You WILL NOT regret it. I'd pay lots of money for this one if I had to.
C.O.D. rocks my socks.......2005-01-21
I picked this album up off eBay for 3 dollars, and I must say this is some good stuff. I bought 'Disengage' before this, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Track 1 is a little too speed-metalish for me, but then you come to track 2, and it's a wild ride throughout the rest of the cd!
I think this is the first Circle of Dust album, and Klay Scott (Scott Albert) did an amazing job. Sadly, there's only 10 songs and no hidden track. Buy this cd and get a little over 50 minuetes of that mm, mmm, good-industrial metal.
NOTE: This is NOT a Christian album! While the lyrics aren't evil, there is no uplifting of Jesus' name on this cd. So don't buy this expecting to hear Nine Inch Nails singing about Jesus.
Underground industrial at its best!.......2002-06-03
This album has been long out-of-print, and I own both versions. In 1992, the band was called Brainchild, and the album was called "Mindwarp." Two years later, Scott Albert (later changing his name to Klay Scott, his renowned Circle of Dust moniker) remixed and rereleased the album as "Brainchild." And it is a masterpiece of underground industrial. This is a great pick for fans of hardcore beats mixed in with death metal guitar riffs and pulsating electronics and textures. The music fits into a Ministry vein, but Circle of Dust achieve some sense of comprehension where Ministry lacked in any sense of cohesion or melody (don't get me wrong, I love Ministry, but their music was about dissention both lyrically and musically). "Brainchild" is wrought with samples from movies, TV, and cartoons, using quotes from "Blade Runner," "Robocop 2," and "The Abyss" all over the place. Normally I would think this to detract from the music, but the choice of quotes is excellent and adds an eerie twist to the music. If it wasn't for the electronics, one might think this to be some artsy-fartsy experimental death metal album. The best songs on this album would have to be "Telltale Crime" and "Deviate." The version of "Deviate" here is far superior to the original '92 release, and is a masterpiece of industrial-thrash. The "Regressor/Aggressor" mixes are awesome as well. If you can find a copy of this album anywhere, I encourage you to give it a listen. It's an aggressive and hard-pounding album that should be in any underground industrial fan's collection. Circle of Dust has since moved on to become Celldweller, and Klay Scott continues to experiment and evolve. I look forward to the first Celldweller album, but until then...I have Circle of Dust to tide me over.

This album doesn't age. Period.......2005-11-15
I picked this up on a recommendation from the Source Magazine back in the late 96/early 97 (a.k.a. Back When "The Source" was still a magazine to be trusted). Riding around ATL...I had heard songs like "Migratenation" and "E.M.B.R.A.C.E." being played on the college radio stations...but I didn't put two and two together until I got the album.
That being said the aforementioned songs...along with "Pushin", "Black Mermaid" and "Wind" are absolute staples. As many have said before...throw this album on at a gathering and you'll either get a) people asking you WHO this is and WHEN it dropped or b) people giving you the knowing head nod that you are one of the few that's up on this album.
You won't regret spending your money...so just buy it...aight?
Right on the real...and death to the fakers (c) Big Rube
Whoooooo!.......2005-11-10
Wow. This one is a monster- throw it on, and watch how many fools ask you "who's this?"...the fact is, you can bank on anything that comes outta the Dungeon Family crew- cop it! This one's another lost DF classic.
Best Ever!.......2005-04-13
This album is incredible. From start to finish, there is really nothing negative anyone (who really listened to and really felt the music and lyrics) could say about it. I got this cd in '97 in a bargain bin of all places at a record store in Los Angeles. Before I even got home I turned around on the freeway, went back to the record store and purchased 3 more copies to give to my friends! I don't know what happened to the group and why another album never came out. This is definitely one of the albums I would bring if I was stranded on a desert island!
I keep comin' back..........2004-06-14
This album is one of the most slept-on of the decade. I've owned this album 3 times in the past 10 years. It keeps coming up missing for one reason or another, but I keep coming back! It is an absolute must-have for the neo-soul/conscious hip-hop enthusiast. Sleepy Brown's production skills on this album were top-notch and you can already hear the sound that made Organized Noise & the Dungeon Family what it is today. Why they never blew up or didn't make a second album is beyond me. Especially when you think about all the BS rappers makin' 4 & 5 BS albums... that's the music biz for ya!
Smooth, southern funk at it's best!!! Go get it!!.......2004-03-10
i've just received my copy of this cd and i dig it- ALOT!!! mind you that this came out round bout in 94 so i've been sleeping on it for a long time. this is one of those cd's that you can pop in your stereo and let it ride to the end... whether you drivin in your caddy (like i do- smile!) or sittin back chillin in your crib. down south folk know what i'm talkin about! if you dig outkast and goodie mob like when they first came out (smooth yet contemplative- LIFE music!!!), then you'll dig this one fa sho! i don't know why they didn't blow in the first place!
p.s. get that joi album "the pendulum vibe" if you dig SOS. but leave one for me!!!

Electronic Genious.......2005-03-11
This cd, from start to finish, is a masterpiece of ambient electronica fused with light industrial backrounds. The cd's high point is definately the upbeat song Home, which I think is one of Level's best song to date. I love how he throws in the aggressive guitars and blends the elctronica so amazingly. Nothing sounds out of place or tacky. It all fits together perfectly. You should also check out his older cd, Devil's Advocate, if you can get your hands on it. Great material.

Product Description
"Originally released in 1992 on R.E.X. Records, Mindwarp is the one and only release by Scott Albert and Doug Mann under the moniker of Brainchild... HM Magazine says the album captures the futuristic sounding of industrial music with its rapidly programmed drum beats, eerie sound effects, and the bombardment of musical and spoken word samples creating the sense that the listener is experiencing a multimedia musical event. The music and lyrics are both extreme, which is par for the course in the aggressive industrial metal genre." -Retroactive Records Out of print for over a decade, this classic comes back to us digitally remastered and limited to 1000 units. The Future of Christian Metal.......2006-02-10
For anyone out there who is a true Christian believer, but loves Heavy Metal...it's probably very hard to find a great Christian Heavy Metal album. Well...search no more. This album is killer!!! I bought this album, and I listen to it just about every other day...and I've owned it for over 6 months now. They almost sound like a cross between Rob Zombie, Nine Inch Nails...and a little something else I can't put my finger on. The guitar riffs are bad-ass! The choruses often pump you up...and the beats are heavy. These guys are the future of Christian Metal...and I think with them, not only has the standard been set, it'll be tough to beat. If you wanna hear a little bit for yourself...here's a link so you can hear 3 of their songs. Seriously...check 'em out:
