This CD is truely vintage Lisa Page Brook. She contineously, keeps true to the word base forum in each song bringing encouragement and victorious thinking to any believer, particularly in the song "Breakthrough" if you don't have the victory you will after listening to this up tempo,yoke destroying song. I pray that God will use her ministry to continue to bless the body of christ, and she continues to be a Witness in song.

I totally agree with the review given by jlbrown. I am a gospel music lover, and I KNOW that Lisa Page Brooks does not get her full props. Only God knows why, 'cause this chick can BLOW! She is so powerful and appears so passionate and sincere (I've seen her live-- 2 times solo, once with Witnes). This album is one of my favorites. My favorites are Fully Persuaded, Since He Came, I Surrender All, More Of You, Yes He Loves Me, and True Worship. The beats are cool, but the words are so, so powerful, personal, and BIBLICAL. And that's something to respect, especially from a gospel artist in these days. After all this time, her (and Michael Brooks, her writer and now hubby, also truly annoinited!!!) music is STILL only about the mighty God that she serves (and me, too!)

In every industry there are those who will always get those props and there are those who deserve to get their props but for whatever reason they are overlooked by the industry. Well in the gospel industry, that underrated female artist is LISA PAGE BROOKS! The former lead singer of the Detroit based female quartet Witness, has masterfully interpreted each of the 12 songs on her Air-Gospel debut but second solo project. Not like her Stellar Award nominated first solo project "More Than You'll Ever Know", her self-titled second project is kind of mellow and actually more thought provoking. The lyrics mostly written by Brooks' husband Pastor Michael Brooks are scriptural based and speaks to the heart. The radio friendly opening track is "Fully Persuaded". A nice contemporary flavored song with a nice hook. That's followed by Since He Came which I'm sure will be lyrically familiar to the saints. What I feel is the gem of the cd is next "Waiting"....a marvelous ballad with a slight orchestral arrangement. It's extremely appealing to both the gospel and contemporary christian market! The lyrics are so timely and will provoke one to patiently wait on the Will of God to be performed in their lives. The next trio of tracks, are all stellar in their production and in Sis. Brooks interpretation as she lets us know that a "Breakthrough" is coming; that we should "Surrender All" and we need "More of Him (you)". The latter half of the cd's flows just as nicely with other R&B/pop fused songs including the song "The Cross" which educates us about the meaning of the cross and another favorite of mine "What Goes Around"...which challenges us to treat others right.
In closing, this cd challenges the everyday lifestyle of those who believe in the gospel of Jesus Christ, it challenges you to examine your walk with the Lord, it challenges you to reach for higher ground in him. That's exactly what gospel music should do. For whatever reason, Lisa Page Brooks still remain one of gospel's best kept secrets. Perhaps, this is the project that can shift her ministry to another level.
