Peace And Hair Grease.......2006-02-17
Lost Boyz second and last release prior to the death of member Freaky Tah, Love, Peace & Nappiness' lead singles took us on familiar ground with the group, but overall was a whole different experience. "Summer Time" is the lead song for this album that was a good example of the group's signature style of music. Continuing with the mainstream sound, "Me & My Crazy World" produced by DJ Ron G is about being in love with two women. For a more lyrical, darker experience, "Beasts From The East" featuring A+, Redman & Canibus takes the group to unfamiliar heights that continue with "My Crew" featuring A+ & Canibus. The slow sample of the title track solidified a position for the Boyz with a feel good mainstream song. "So Love" is about the feeling within a relationship over R&B harmonies. Continuing with their up-beat formula of a gritty type bounce groove, "What's Wrong" they admit "...we can do this all night..." with "Certain Things We Do" following the direction and aim. Freaky Tah flows solo on "Get Your Hustle On" with his raspy voice added to the album's versatility. The story line on "Tight Situations" was narrated well by Mr. Cheeks as the horn section made the flow more intense. The album's elevation declines as the remainder of Love, Peace & Nappiness was more or less the love and peace of the album.
Its sad to me.......2005-11-26
Because my boy Freeky Tah had gotten killed but on this album he is showing out, good beats good lyrics and Tah R.I.P.!!!!!!!!
Lost Boyz- Love, Peace & Nappiness.......2005-07-13
The Lost Boyz (Mr. Cheeks, Freaky Tah, Pretty Lou and Spigg Nice) second album "Love, Peace & Nappiness" (1997) is a solid release. LB starts the album off strong with their own version of "Summer Time". They follow it up with the exceptional Ron G produced "Me and My Crazy World" a track about being in love with two women. Mr. Cheeks then collabs with Canibus, A+ and Redman on the raw "Beasts From the East". The title track "Love, Peace and Nappiness" feat. King Keiwanee & Da Blak Pharoah is something special, an upbeat LB anthem. Another track for the ladies follows in the laidback "So Love". A+ and Canibus make another appearance on "My Crew", then Cheeks and Tah drop some decent tracks in "What's Wrong" and "Certain Things We Do". Mr. Cheeks recalls growing up on "Games" feat. Luv Bug Starski. Freaky Tah rhymes with a deep flow on "Get Your Hustle On". "Tight Situations" has LB & Queens Most Wanted telling a thugged out story of a jack. The Lost Boyz provide another outstanding track on the Bink Dawg produced "From My Family To Yours" (Dedication) feat. Queens Most Wanted, LB puts mad heart into this cut while remembering the deaths of Pac, BIG and friends. The Lost Boyz provided a memorable album with "Love, Peace & Nappiness", one which I recommend for the collection.
Real ..........2002-09-17
When I chill out and blow some smoke into the air, I play my LOST BOYZ cd's and I'm telling you it's lovely. LOST BOYZ are some original catz. They keep to themselves, never cross each others boundaries and keep it real. I respect their group to the fullest. To listen to their music is to know them and what they represent. All I can say is, their talented brotha's and their music is off the chain!!!!
No Happiness just Nappiness.......2001-10-30
I gave this album only four stars because I know personally there was a lot of tension building up while recording this album and had it not been there (the tension) this album would have been off the hook.

Check it out!.......2006-11-27
I love Brit Pop and I love Dodgy! I have only become familiar with them the past year or two but they have definitely become a staple in my music diet. They are every bit as good as Oasis, Charlatans U.K., Blur and other Brit bands of the 90's. I think that if they continued to make music, they would've made some pretty big waves. I recently and happily found out that Nigel Clark is working on a solo career. I need to check him out!
The diamond in the Britpop goldmine.......2006-06-27
Listen to the best of British guitar pop between 1994 and 1996 and you'll find you've stumbled into one of modern music's goldmines. And this album is surely its most precious stone.
The tracks sparkle with a musical and lyrical optimism that is infectious. No respectable artist could get away with with such laughable lyrics of "if it's good enough for you, it's good enough for me", unless you put it to Dodgy's mix of harmony-soaked pop-perfect vocals and stampeding guitar/piano/brass backing.
Yes, all the soaring melodies could have topped the charts in the 60s, but Dodgy have written them in the 90s and have duly charged them up with raw energy that typifies the Britpop movement. Dodgy the definitive Britpop band? Well Oasis didn't have the cheerful candour that reflected the movement's 60s roots. Blur may have captured the Kinks' witty anthems, but Damon's cynicism hinted that they were only Britpop associates. Dodgy's music lies at the heart of what Britpop was - and this precious album reflects everything good about the music that echoed across the British Isles (before it was laid low by some more sombre outfits beginning with Radio and Cold). Take home a piece of history.
Ten Stars,I Give it Ten Stars.......2004-05-25
This is one of those albums that has dug itself into my skin so far that it burrowed through and came out the other side, it stained me with its quirkyness, its brilliant sense of familiarity, it really is like a warm bowl of homecooking, even at its weakest points its only fault was that it didnt floor me.
I'm from California, and ive been Waiting to buy this album for quite some time, CD's can get expensive when they are imports from england with no release in the states, I downloaded some of the songs a long time ago but didnt realize this entire album would be so magically magnificent, I can honestly say that during the warmest moments of my life the last song on this album "homegrown" will always play in my head as a soundtrack, that is what music is for me, and what dodgy has given me with "Free peace Sweet"
A lot of influences and a lot of fun.......2002-09-23
This was another of the big pile of CDs I bought on a trip to Scotland in 96. Even though I hadn't heard of them before that trip, I found myself playing this in my rental car more than any of the other CDs purchased. I think part of the charm of this CD is trying to figure out who Dodgy is borrowing from on each track. You can clearly hear early Who, the Kinks (Schoolboys era), the Beatles (Rubber Soul era) and other unmistakeable influences throughout the CD... but Dodgy makes it work without making it seem like stealing. It's not original, it's not even necessarily memorable... but this CD is a fun listen.
Brilliant!.......1999-02-25
That's all I can say...Brilliant. Dodgy are great. I spent my senior year in Scotland, and fell in love with the "Britpop" bands. Not that bollocksy like Boyzone, but with Dodgy, The Charlatans, and the like. I have this album as a second-hand dub from a mate in Scotland, and I listen to it a lot. It's brill. And "dodgy" is a slang word there for something a little shady, under-the-table. It's just Dodgy. Well Dodgy.

Disappointing Mantra Fails to Deliver.......2007-07-14
I've gotton realy tired of mantra CD's that have spoken commentary insisting that "what you about to hear are magical mantras conveyed by the gods" and that "they are so powerful all you need do is listen to them with an open mind" and then all these supposed blessings & life-changing experiences will be yours--with no further effort required. Yeah, right--IF ONLY!
The commentary in this CD goes so far as to say that "modern science" has actually proven the reality of these supernatural claims.
I just happen to like mantra music.
Unfortunately this CD is neither unique or demonstrates any particularly impressive technique.
I wasn't so disappointed as to actually throw it away (that would have garnered only a single star. The Amazon format requies you rate at least 1 star or your review will be "spit back" to you for correction.)
So if you're not a total mantra freak (like me), I'd give this one a pass.

Album Description
2007 CD single by the highly praised UK singer/songwriter, taken from his album The Forever House. Features 'Peace By Myself' and 'Crazy'. Island.
Album Details
Equally Influenced by Hercule Poirot (Moustache, Pre War Fascination) as Freddy Mercury (Moustache, Consummate Showman) and with a Bowie-esque Performance on the Hazily Rich Single "Peace by Yourself", Toms Really is Quite Unlike Any Other Singer/Songwriter in the UK. He Tells the Kind of Tales that Whisk You Into Another World, Fulfilling the Classic and Oft Forgotten Secret of the Best Pop Music - Escapism. His Ability to Blend Sublime Balladry with Sunshine Melodies and Some Heavily Experimental Sonic Curveballs is Borne Out of his Love for Decades of Music that Takes in his Gran's Collection of Pre-war Jazz Through to the Likes of Supertramp, Sir Elton and his Dad's 70's Prog Pomp.
