I'm listening to this very CD right now and it is great!My favorite songs are,heart of a champion,Jesus period,a witch's invitation,who's in the house,Jericho,now's the time,mission 3:16,America again,I've been delivered,Satan,bite the dust!,r.i.o.t,addicted to Jesus,ther is a God,sunday school rock,no monsters,and the champion.I would recommend this CD over any other Carman CD.(If you bought this you would not have to buy any other Carman CD because this CD has songs from almost all of his CDs)Thanks for reading this!

After checking out this cd from the public library, I could not wait to buy it. My favorite songs are: "Heart of a Champion"--for the uplifting lirics; "My story"-- for the "hawaian-like rithm. I am not embarrased to admit that when I heard this song I just got up and danced for about an hour. The song that touched my heart was "I promise"--A wonderful song to play at a wedding. Honestly, I liked most of the songs. I f you don't have the cd, just get it. You will not be disapointed.

Carman has a passion for Jesus and his desire to evangelize through his music is wonderful. God has gifted him with a beautiful voice and a great talent for writing awesome lyrics and he is using it for the glory of God.

Songs from several of his earlier albums, which I do not own, are included on this double CD. His skit on "A Witch's Invitation' is thought provoking and great to know that 'greater is the One that is in us then the one that is in the world'.

I also found his new song "We Need God in America Again" to be so true and profound,. America has moved away from the gospel of Jesus Christ to a 'higher power' whatever that power may be and this is so sad that millions of people are not hearing the gospel of Jesus Christ on which the constitution was based. Who will be answerable for these lost souls? Definitely not the ones that have listened to this song and taken it to heart!

I have several albums by Carman, including "Passion for Praise", "I Surrender All", "The Absolute Best", "The Standard" and "Revival in the Land". Heart of a Champion is a great addition to my collection and I would recommend this album to anyone wanting to listen to something different and uplifting.

5 out of 5 stars Another "Best Of" For Carmen!.......2002-07-05

Carman has been in the music business for decades already, so he has a lot of songs to offer in his various "Best of" albums. And this one is no different. With 90s classics like "A Witch's Invitation," "Satan, Bite the Dust," "Sunday School Rock," and "No Monsters," this album will remind you of just why you like listening to Carman in the first place. And for those of you who aren't yet Carman fans, this album will give you a glimpse of the many various song styles that he is so well known for.

Out of the 30 songs on this album, six of them are new, including "Heart of a Champion," which was the title soundtrack to Carman's 2000 movie "Champion." Though the title song is the best of the new songs, it doesn't come close to comparing to what Carman is best known for.

The six new songs notwithstanding, this is a perfect album to add to your Carman collection, or to start a new Carman collection with.

Carman has led over 1 million people to Christ. It's no suprise as Carman music and showmanship have gathered crowds. I saw him yesterday and let me tell you this man is trully blessed by God.
Heart of a Champion is a fine collection, but I think His Absolute Best is a better collection. Heart of a Champion has some good songs on it. "Great God", "Who's in the House?", "Satan, Bite the Dust", "America Again", "My Story", "I've Been Delievered", "Sunday School Rock", and "The Champion". The new hits are pretty cool including the title track, "Faith Enough", and "Just Like He Said". Carman looks to be headed a new direction and it looks like its pretty bright path. Some songs are missing though like "Holy Ghost Hop" from Addicted to Jesus Album. And he's missing "The Courtroom" from Mission 3:16. Still a very good collection. I recommend getting His Absolute Best first and then this album. Wait until Carman reaches 2 million souls won. I can't wait!

      well i have to say this cd is good, but the price is a little high. eric did a decent job in the Christian pop world as you can hear on this cd, but his new Christian modern rock stuff is much better. the songs on LOVERS HEART is mostly bubblegum pop material, but its still ok. the best songs are "smilin", and "living free." the rest of the songs are ok. if you are into groups like Wilshire or early Newsboys, then you should find thid cd decent to your liking.

      5 out of 5 stars A Pretty Darn Good Lohengrin.......2005-04-14

      I got this Lohengrin from the local library, and I tried to get a taste of what I was in for by looking it up here on Amazon.com. But to my dismay there were no reviews. And later, to even greater dismay on my part, I found that there is no reason for such a lack of reviews! For this is a solid Lohengrin. While Peter Hofmann is not the most vocally resplendent Lohengrin (he isn't a Konya or a Domingo), he turns is a good performance, and Karen Armstrong is a passionate Elsa who plays the part admirably. The rest of the cast is strong on the whole. But the real splendors of this set spring from the pit - Woldemar Nelsson (of whom I had never heard until I discovered this recording) leads the Beyreuth Festival orchestra in a burning account. They are a truly Wagnerian orchestra (it would be a shame if they weren't), and Nelsson brings out all the Master's colors. The energy of a live performance just pours out. Never have I heard the preludes and prominent sections played with such an intense timbre. It's amazing to hear.

      Therefore, though this set doesn't match Kempe, Solti, or Leinsdorf overall, it is a strong alternate set that should not be ignored.

        According to the liner notes, Champion Jack Dupree had been living in Europe for 10 years when he recorded "The Heart of the Blues is Sound" in 1969, but you barely tell he's left the silt of Crescent City behind until you come to track 4, "The Japanese Special," a jazzy instrumental featuring squealing horns and a steady rolling drumbeat. The only other up-tempo cut is the rollicking "You Rascal You." The rest of the tracks are slow (to the point of staggering) blues, from the a capella "My Baby's Coming Home" to "Don't Mistreat Your Woman."

        I'm not familiar with Jack Dupree's other work, but I think this is well worth picking up if you chance across it.
