Akin to the Brooklyn Tabernacle singers' Songs from the Altar, this is an elegantly scored collection that remains firmly focused on the choir's trademark praise and worship bent. However, while it begins with the relatively uncomplicated "Total Praise," High and Lifted Up, unlike Songs, is lyrically complex, including the words of Psalm 150 and "Battle Hymn of the Republic." This CD is inspiring as it is spirit-filled. Again, only the best can be expected from the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir. My personal favorites, "Total Praise", "My Help" and "We Are United". Go ahead...get it ...and make a joyful noise unto the Lord!!

If you have never heard the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir,please add that to your list of things you plan on doing for 2004, along with the usual"going on a diet". Then after you have heard their cd "This Is Your House", buy a plane ticket and go see them in person, but make sure you take some one with you, because you will not believe what you will see and hear from the 283 plus singers at the Brooklyn Tabernacle Church. The "Holy Spirit" is so overwhelming in this church,you will want to share this feeling.Thank God for Mrs.Carol Cymbala and her choir family,ask anyone and they will tell you how to get to the church in Brooklyn,you will visit more than once.........

Truly, the anointing of God can be found for everyone who listens to these recordings. The music is upbeat, yet very comforting to the soul through the ministerial words of every song.

This choir and its director truly have been placed by God at this time to provide a very powerful message to his people.

IT IS ONE OF THE CHOIR'S BEST. IT MINISTERS TO ME AND ANYONE WHO HEARS IT. THEY ARE AN ANNOINTED CHOIR. I FOLLOW THEM WHEN THEY ARE IN MY AREA. KEEP ON BEING A BLESSING TO EVERYONE. IF YOU HAVE NEVER SEEM THEM IN PERSON, MAKE A SPECIAL EFFORT AND YOU WILL BE BLESSED. REMEMBER THEY ARE NOT PERFORMERS. THEY ARE MINISTERS THROUGH SONG.
