Metal at its finest........2003-06-03
Without a doubt, Bride's finest album to date. In my opinion, this album blows away any other metal album ever created. It's JUST that good. Dale Thompson's vocals are nothing short of amazing, as is his brother Troy's guitar work. And if you like this one, check out their other stuff. Bride is still alive and kickin'.

Customer Reviews:
This is a great CD.......2006-03-24
I remember when this CD came out. I was about 13 or 14. This CD does not let down. Great rock and a few great ballads. I Miss the Rain has great vocals and lyrics, and even background vocals by Ric Florian of Whiteheart. Goodbye is another great song. My favorite song on this CD is Dust Through a Fan.
A must-have for metalheads.......2006-02-25
There are Snakes in the playground-fans all over the world, and I am one of them. I like this album very much, because of the great vocals, guitar and drums. Every song has its own melody, I think, and almost every song except "Saltriver Shuffle" (It's really not a song), "I miss the rain" (beautiful Ballad) and "Goodbye" (another great ballad) rocks with bluesy and groovy guitar-riffs! I like this album so much, and I'm saying that if you are a metal or hard rock fan, this is a must-have for you. And one more thing; if you already have this album or want something newer (Snakes in the playground is from 1992) that rocks in the same way, check out Brides newest album from 2003: THIS IS IT. (if you want to hear two songs from this, check this out: www.bridepub.com/blowitallaway.mp3

Rock on!
The best metal album...ever...period........2003-11-04
That's not an overstatement. At least, not to me. Granted, I'm no metalhead so I'm not all hardcore as to argue with some people that might consider this melodic hard rock and not metal. But whatever you want to call it, this album is spectacular in everything. My favorite Bride album to date, and I have them all. If you like this album, you should check out their newest indie release, "This Is It". Kind of the same flavor as "Snakes", but still sounding modern.

the nostalgia gene kicks in.......2007-02-20
before BRIDE became BRIDE, they were known as MATRIX and they released a few demos on the 80's metal/hard rock club circuit. i got turned onto BRIDE through a buddy of mine who lived in my neighborhood when i was 13 years old. as a budding metal head into Crue, Ratt, Cinderella, i liked what i heard. then my friend let me copy his original tapes of MATRIX demos. these were far different than the band that they would grow to be.
While BRIDE embraced an epic, thrashy metal realm full of gothic images, dragon slayings, and other DIO-isms; Matrix was a much more stripped down affair. their songs built on hard rock riffs and a knack for some new wave styled pop melodies. in fact, you might think of Matrix as a more rockin' version of The Cars. another point of reference would be the awesome, although obscure group, The Jesters Of Destiny.
these songs really seemed to capture my attention when i was a kid and i recall playing thenm endlessly. well, i was absolutely chuffed to find that these were released on cd and i ordered mine and have been listening to it with much joy. i'm not exactly sure that these would be so great to me if i had not heard these when i was younger. because, even though i like these songs alot, they are certainly on the cheesy side of things. but any lover of good music can't help but notice that there are tons of great songwriting that is beginning to take form in these early recordings. fans of heavy metal might not find much to rock out to, but those interested in discovering unknown new wave/hard rock artifacts from the past might find quite a bit of interest in cd1 of this release. for me, it's been great revisiting these songs after many years.
40 of Bride's greatest songs.......2006-02-09
For fans of Bride, this is a must have. Both CD's together have 40 songs from the early days of Matrix through the Bride songs of the Lost Reels. Several of the songs did make it on to later Bride releases. All of Bride's music rocks, but this is so unique because it covers all of the early years of Bride dating clear back to 1982. The music is full of power and energy. What a deal for 40 recordings!
