Spanning 22 years, this double-disc, 36-track compilation chronicles the initially unlikely and ultimately triumphant conflation of a failing, veteran English neo-blues band (Mick Fleetwood and the McVies) with a pair of mercurial American also-rans (the baroque folk-rock genius Lindsey Buckingham and crypto-songbird Stevie Nicks). THIS IS FLEETWOOD MAC'S GREATEST COMPILATION MASTERPIECE EVER!.......2006-12-28

I will be writing a review on the legendary brilliant masterpiece 2-CD set album simply entitled "THE VERY BEST OF" by one of England's and America's greatest combined Rock bands EVER, I'm talking about the great FLEETWOOD MAC! This 2-CD set album was originally released on CD in 2002 on the Reprise Records label that was once owned by old blue eyes himself, the late great Frank Sinatra! Reprise Records is associated with Warner Brothers Records Inc. The matrix or ID number of this album is R2 73775. As always, if I hear any new additional information concerning this legendary album, I will edit this review immediately so that you the consumer will get the best informative and most accurate review possible. Please forgive me for making this review a little long but I felt it was the only appropriate way to write this one on Fleetwood Mac!

What can I say about the great legendary Fleetwood Mac that hasn't already been said? I'm confident that you were already aware that Fleetwood Mac were already legendary before the megastar line-up of the beautiful Stevie Nicks, the beautiful Christine McVie, the gracefully talented Lindsay Buckingham and the multi-talented masterminds and founders of Fleetwood Mac, John McVie and Mick Fleetwood. Fleetwood Mac would be known worldwide as the band that contained three of Rock's greatest guitarists that would ever play together in one band on the same stage! I'm talking about the great Peter Green, Danny Kirwan and Jeremy Spencer! After all three guitarists along with guitarist Bob Welch departed Fleetwood Mac in the 70's, the band was at a crossroads and McVie, Fleetwood and a young beauty named Christine Perfect (Soon to be McVie) were only left with their name! When Fleetwood and both McVie's traveled to California U.S.A., it would not take very long before Fleetwood Mac Mach II would be born and set the stage and the whole world on fire! The beautiful Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham would be the needed ingredients that would complete the NEW AND IMPROVED FLEETWOOD MAC! Fleetwood Mac will not only be remembered for having four of the greatest legendary guitarists in all of Rock n' Roll history, but for having two of the most beautiful angelic female voices in the history of Rock n' Roll! That's right, you guessed it, I'm talking about the beautiful Stevie Nicks and the beautiful Christine McVie! Nicks' voice is one that you will definitely recognize! Her voice, like Janis', Grace Slick's and Ann Wilson's from Heart, has a very husky, crisp and raw voice that will give you goose bumps and shake you down to the bone! Christine McVie also has a husky, crisp and raw voice that will send shivers right up your spine! I love all these beauties voices but I'm only going to talk about Stevie Nicks and Christine McVie! In my opinion, this whole album is nothing but outstanding and brilliant! Every single song track in this album is great!

There are so many songs listed in this album! I would love to review all the songs in this album especially since all of these songs are my favorite! It is extremely hard for me to choose one over the other! Rather than list and briefly review all the song tracks in this album, I will only list and review my most favorite song tracks in their original exact running order as follows: DISC ONE (1.) "Monday Morning," (Outstanding! Brilliant! Superb! I LOVE THIS SONG! This is a great Rocker!) (2.) "Dreams," (Outstanding! Brilliant! Superb! Another great Rocker! this is one of Nicks' greatest Lead Vocal contributions to Fleetwood Mac! The musical arrangements blend and harmonize perfectly with Nicks' angelic voice! I love this song dearly!) (3.) "You Make Loving Fun," (Outstanding! Brilliant! Superb! I love this Rocker! Christine McVie sings this song with such grace and beauty that you cannot help but be trapped in her trance!) (4.) "Go Your Own Way," (Outstanding! Brilliant! Superb! Another great Rocker! I love this song dearly!) (5.) "Rhiannon," (Outstanding! Brilliant! Superb! This song is quite simply, Ms. Stevie Nicks! Nicks' blistering merciless mystic Lead Vocals in this song will have you begging for more! I love this this beautiful song so dearly!) (6.) "Say You Love Me," (Outstanding! Brilliant! Superb! I love this mild Rocker! This is quite simply, Christine McVie! Her blistering merciless Lead Vocals in this song will shake you to your roots! I love it!) (8.) "Silver Springs," (Outstanding! Brilliant! Superb! A beautiful Nicks number! This song was originally an outtake from the legendary "RUMOURS" album! This song would eventually see its day in the light and premiere in the Fleetwood Mac live reunion album and DVD "THE DANCE" from 1997! This is Stevie Nicks at her absolute BEST! I love it!) (9.) "Over My Head," (Outstanding! Brilliant! Superb! This song is quite simply, Christine McVie! I love her Lead Vocals in this one! The musical arrangements are perfect for McVie's most angelic voice!) (11.) "Sara," (Outstanding! Brilliant! Superb! Another great mild Nicks' Rocker! This is again, Stevie Nicks at her absolute BEST! I love her sweet angelic voice in this one!) (14.) "Landslide," (Outstanding! Brilliant! Superb! This is quite simply, S-t-e-v-i-e N-i-c-k-s! This is one hell of a beautiful song! I love Nicks' most beautiful angelic voice in this one! The acoustic arrangements blend beautifully with Nicks' beautiful Lead Vocals! I also love the lyrics to this song!) (15.) "Songbird" (Outstanding! Brilliant! Superb! This is the most emotional that I have ever heard Christine McVie ever sing! This is one of the most beautiful songs that Fleetwood Mac ever recorded! Christine's voice is so angelic that you can't help but feel absorbed into her hypnotic trance!) and (16.) "Big Love." (Outstanding! Brilliant! Superb! This song is quite simply, Mr. Lindsay Buckingham! Buckingham kicks a*s and shows how it's done on the acoustic guitar! Lindsay's Lead Vocals sounds as if he is pleading for your attention which I'm sure he gets!) Now, its on to DISC TWO (1.) "The Chain," (Outstanding! Brilliant! Superb! Another great trademark Mac number! I love this song!) (2.) "Don't Stop," (Outstanding! Brilliant! superb! Another great trademark Mac number! This song kicks a*s! I love the musical arrangements in this song! Another song I love dearly!) (4.) "Gypsy," (Outstanding! Brilliant! Superb! This song is again, quite simply, Stevie Nicks! I love her beautiful angelic yet powerful Lead Vocals in this one! This song kicks a*s as well!) (6.) "Little Lies," (Outstanding! Brilliant! Superb! This song is quite simply, BOTH Stevie Nicks and Christine McVie! Both their angelic voices blend and harmonize beautifully and perfectly together in this one! I love it!) (7.) "Think About Me," (Outstanding! Brilliant! Superb! This is one GREAT ROCKER! I love Christine's powerful and angelic Lead Vocals in this one! WOW! I LOVE IT!) (9.) "Gold Dust Woman," (Outstanding! Brilliant! Superb! Another great Nicks Lead Vocal arrangement! This is another song with Nicks at her ABSOLUTE BEST! I LOVE IT!) WOW, I AM NEVER GOING TO FINISH THIS REVIEW WITH ALL OF THE GREAT SONGS IN THIS ALBUM! (10.) "Hold Me," (Outstanding! Brilliant! Superb! This is another great song! This is Christine at her ABSOLUTE BEST! Her angelic voice blends perfectly with the music in this one! I LOVE IT DEARLY!) (13.) "Everywhere" (Outstanding! Brilliant! Superb! This is one hell of a great song! Christine sings this song beautifully and gracefully! Well done Christine! I LOVE IT!) and (16.) "As Long As You Follow." (Outstanding! Brilliant! Superb! Another great Christine McVie number! I love her Lead Vocals in this one! Her voice sounds so beautiful that I can NEVER get tired of listening to her or Stevie sing! What great breathtaking voices!) If I left any of your favorites out, please forgive me! I deeply apologize on my part! Overall, this is one great hell of an album! Really, every single song track in this album is nothing less than outstanding and brilliant!

As you can see, this is definitely a treasure album worth purchasing that he or she should definitely own as a valuable part of his or her personal music collection. This priceless gem will definitely be enjoyed and cherished for many more years to come, NOW AND FOREVER!

In closing, Fleetwood Mac are TRUE LEGENDS! I know for fact that we haven't seen or heard the last of Fleetwood Mac yet! This band still has so much to give to the whole world in general! Forgive me for saying this and I do not mean to offend anyone or anybody especially the bandmembers! Listening to all these brilliant well recorded songs gives me the feeling that Nicks and McVie were in DEEP competition with each other, am I wrong? I REALLY HOPE I AM! But when you have two great female singers in the same band, there's bound to be some form of friction between the two! The reason why I am questioning this is because McVie does not appear in the most recent Fleetwood Mac release "SAY YOU WILL" from 2003! I really do hope that I am wrong in making this statement and I would love to see McVie back in the Mac line-up where she so rightly belongs! Here's to you Fleetwood Mac! Keep persevering! The Mac's best compilation, all the Buckingham-era studio albums are all better.......2006-10-25

A two-disc set including all of the band's hits from 1975-1987, as well as some album tracks and lessor-known songs. The packaging is attractive, and the remastering is outstanding. Although I personally feel that the five studio albums from this lineup of the band are superior than any compilation, the set will fit the bill nicely for those who are looking a collection with all of the hits and most of the significant album tracks. This peaked at #12 on the Hot 200 and is as close to a definitive compilation of this era of the band as there is.

FAVORITE ALBUM EVER.......2006-07-22

I adore this collection of Fleetwood Mac's work. Rhiannon is my all time favorite. It is so beautiful. The songs sung by Stevie Nicks are the most beautiful, since her voice is spellbinding.
I reccomend this to every age group! It's fabulous!

The Very Best of Fleetwood Mac.......2006-05-13

This collection of Fleewood Mac far surpasses the original "Greatest Hits" release, and should please fans old and new. It includes all the hits from their first album through 1997's reunion album The Dance.

There are some refreshing new elements incorporated into this CD too single versions for Rhiannon, Over My Head, Think About Me and Sisters of the Moon that were all previously unavailable on CD. There's also a different mix of Silver Springs, emphasizing Stevie Nicks' vocals at the end of the song with Buckingham and McVie's vocals removed.
