The fact that Alice Cooper's fourth release housed the gritty "Halo of Flies" would be reason enough to buy the CD, even if the rest of it were garbage. An essential piece of the rock canon, it may not have served up the hits that his other releases did, but it still stands as a classic. Loud, brash, sloppy, and hard, it's the kind of listen that makes you check for grime under your nails. Cooper's rock/shock aesthetic was coming into full bloom here and "Dead Babies" shows he was satisfied with his formula of hard rock, bad taste, and images outside the realm of Middle America. The title track hints at the shape of things to come, laying the ground work for works as seemingly disparate as "Only Women Bleed," and "No More Mr. Nice Guy." Briefly ostracized by the "hipper than thou" sect, Killer is one of the reasons Cooper is now fully appreciated as the pioneer that he was. - -Steve Gdula

Halo Of Flies.......2007-06-13
Yeah, this album is great. However, there is one track that really stands out "Halo Of Flies", That song is a jaw-dropping, hard rocking masterpiece. High praise for the album. Especially "Halo Of Flies"
"Killer is killer." .......2007-05-20
Alice Cooper is my favorite musical artist. I listen to a lot of different types of rock. I listen to anything from Meat Loaf- King Diamond- Rob Zombie- Avril Lavigne but Alice is my favorite. Killer contains probably some of his most famous and yet sometimes underrated songs. Halo of Flies, Desperado, Under my Wheels, Be My Lover, Dead Babies, and of course the title track are great classic rock cuts. You Drive me Nervous and Yeah, Yeah, Yeah are also good tracks but they don't match up to the previosly mentioned tracks. Cooper is the god of rock/metal music in my eyes and this is perhaps one of his best albums. I'm 17 years old and have only been a music fan for probably 3 years but Alice has been with me from the beginning and has continued to amaze me.
Best album by Alice Cooper.......2007-04-23
Studio album released in 1971, by the original band-a real band with Alice Cooper, Neal Smith, Dennis Dunaway, Michael Bruce, and Glen Buxton. I think the other band members (apart from Cooper), got the short end of the stick. This album, along with these 'Love it to death', 'Billion dollar babies', and 'Love it to death' are so vastly superior to 'his' other albums. The band plays and writes really well together as a 'real' band. Case in point, listen to 'Dada' from a few years later-dreadful! Just wish he had kept a proper band together, even if he fealt that they were not as musically good as some of the late session musicians. Rock is about feel, more than technique in my opinion. I can't even listen to 'Dada' or
Killer, all right.......2007-03-14
Coop really deserves more credit for inventing the "melodic hard-rock" subgenre. Yes, it later gave way to hair-metal (bleargh), but in the proper hands it could be amazing. Alice Cooper are among those "proper hands", so what this album does best is tight, crafty, melodic hard rock - loud and gritty, but hummable and well-performed, often with funny lyrics. Classics such as the self-referential groupie anthem Be My Lover and horn-powered rocker Under My Wheels, as well as should-be classics like the punkish Yeah, Yeah, Yeah and swaggering You Drive Me Nervous fit the bill there.
But sometimes you have to wonder what my man Alice was smoking. Like on Dead Babies... that is one weird song. Dark, creepy stuff. And hey, if you're going to protest child abuse, you might as well make it dark and creepy, right? Sure enough, it's one of the album's several standouts, a chilling tale of Little Betty's "adventures" with a pound of aspirin. Desparado is so far removed from the rest of the album, it's like it's by a completely different band. It's not the Eagles song, thank god - it's a dark, moody, cinematic masterpiece with a spot-on, Jim Morrison-esque vocal from Alice. Morrison happened to be one of Coop's drinking buddies. Talk about friends in high places!
But Jim must've slipped something funny into Alice's drink one night, becuase the two songs I've yet to discuss are pure crap. Halo of Flies and the title song both are random jams that completely fall apart. It's not that the group didn't have the chops to pull them off (they did), but assorted wanking without even the slightest hint of song structure is NOT what the group does best. That's what you leave to the jazz artists. Okay, I'm not gonna close this on a negative note - this is their best release ever, and one of the best hard rock albums out there. It's also probably the highest four-star I've ever given - had even one of the two jams been dropped, I would've forgotten about the other and boosted it to five (secretly 4.5, though). Okay, I'm being negative again, and I don't want to be because this is one solid album, easily the group's finest work.

WAY BACK IN 1972 WHEN I WAS TEN YEARS OLD I WENT INTO MY LOCAL KMART AND SAW A RED ALBUM WITH A HUGE SNAKE ON THE FRONT. NEEDLESS TO SAY I PURCHASED IT.THE BACK COVER WAS JUST AS GRUESOME WITH FIVE UGLY HIPPIES ON IT. WHEN I OPENED MY PRIZE I SAW ALICE HANGING HIMSELF WITH A BONUS 1972 CALENDER AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PIC.LITTLE DID I KNOW THE MUSIC WOULD BE MORE "KILLER" THAN THE ALBUM COVER. I TURNED MY STROBE LIGHT AND BLACKLIGHT ON AND LOOKED AT MY BLACKLIGHT POSTER OF A GHOUL FLOATING OVER A GRAVEYARD AND STARTED THE LP. THERE WAS NO TURNING BACK I WAS HOOKED FROM THE FIRST STRAINS OF UNDER MY WHEELS.THE WHOLE ALBUM KICKS FROM START TO FINISH AND IM SURE 95 PERCENT OF THE PEOPLE READING THIS HAVE HEARD THE SONGS A MILLION TIMES.WHAT I ALWAYS LIKED ABOUT ALICES EARLY ALBUMS WAS THAT THEY CAME WITH PRIZES. KILLER HAD A CALENDAR,SCHOOLS OUT HAD THE RECORD ALBUM WRAPPED IN PAPER PANTIES LOL BILLION DOLLAR BABIES HAD PUNCH OUT TRADING CARDS AND A HUGE BILLION DOLLAR FEDERAL RESERVE NOTE AND MUSCLE OF LOVE HAD A SMALL POSTER OF EM ALL PEELING POTATOES AFTER BEING BEAT UP BY A GORILLA! EVERY KID SHOULD HAVE KILLERS IN THEYRE COLLECTION LIKE I DID.I AM PLEASED THAT I FOUND THIS ALBUM ON MY OWN WITHOUT ANYONE TURNING ME ON TO IT.FIVE STARS FOR SURE.THANKS FOR READING.MARK "STOMP" CHOMA

If you've heard Blink 182, the Offspring, or Green Day, you've heard Sum 41, with or without All Killer No Filler. The Canadian quartet's California punk formula is a well-worn one that seems to be working--all the way from the store to the Warped Tour. Set poppy, three-chord rock to hyperactive speeds, write songs about why you don't give a shit, and play up your juvenile-delinquent side for all it's worth (check out the "Going, Going, Gonorrhea" video with the band "doing all the dangerous and immature stuff you shouldn't try from the safety of your own home"). Of course, this has all been done before and will continue to be rehashed again as long as a silly, snotty attitude brings in the record company gold. While these punks are hardly walking down the block less traveled, they still packed All Killer full of hooks that should snag modern rock radio listeners. Peppy sing-along choruses, rolling drum solos, and guitar-driven anthems uncork the energy and brightly color this fast-moving, TRL-friendly disc. --Jennifer Maerz
Customer Reviews:
Obviously if you are a Sum 41 fan, this album could explain why........2007-06-15
This is one of their greatest albums, because this is the real Sum 41 before Deryck was supposed to get married or before Dave left.
I'll rate each of the songs on here.
1. Introduction To Destruction
5/10 Not really a song. Kind of cool though.
2. Nothing On My Back
10/10
You'll find yourself singing this song in your sleep because it is so addictive.
3. Never Wake Up
8/10
Who doesn't love a fast song where every word is slurred?
4. Fat Lip
12/10
Chances are this is the song that got you hooked to this band. I know this is the one that brought me to buying this CD.
5. Rhythms
8/10
Catchy but repetitive.
6. Motivation
9/10
Another great one.
7. In Too Deep
10/10
Second best song on this album.
Great music video as well.
8. Summer
8/10
Nothing to do with song, but it's still nice.
9. Handle This
10/10
Sums go soft and succeed
10. Crazy Amanda Bunkface
8/10
Another fast paced song.
11. All She's Got
7/10
Not the song I'd put before Heart Attack
12. Heart Attack
10/10
Gotta love this song. Catchy beat, though can get repetitive.
13. Pain For Pleasure
9/10
Fun to play, nothing more.
who needs POP-PUNK???!!! Sum41 destroys it........2007-02-10
a funny band with a straightforward down to playing hard music for fans does the trick in "all killer no filler". great hooks, music and a great companion for all other die-hard punk music.
That stupidhead who cusses. It should say this, not badworda-palooza...........2006-09-22
OKAY!! You little stupidheads that like Sum41 and Blink182... let me ask you something. If they aren't PUNK... then what the heck are they? They certainly ARE NOT pop, or any of that other stupid type of music... and you obviously don't know what the heck you're talking about, so shut up and sit your bottom down. And, no, I'm not saying that all that other stupidity isn't punk or anything. Everyone has their own opinion, right? And, they all stink. But, still. Here's mine. There's no need to go off and make fun, or like Blink182, or Sum41, now is there? Bet they have a heck of alot more talent then you and they're stinkin' trying. They're two whatever bands. The pop generation is going downhill, and punk is rising. THE HECK punk is dead, ya dumb retard. Anyways, I'm out.
I was dissapointed.......2006-09-17
I never gave this band any thought until I saw them cover Metallica's "Master of Puppets" for 2003's MTV Icon. And though they didn't play the whole song, they did play the solo and the fact that they were able to pull that off got the attention of me. When some kid I knew was giving away CD's he didn't listen to anymore, along with two other CD's, I picked this one just to see what the boys were made of. Well, I was a bit disappointed. It seems that though these guys grew up listening to bands like Judas Priest and Iron Maiden (as mentioned in the song "Fat Lip") and seem to be decently talented players, they are either only capable of writing pop-punk music or they were just focusing on what pleases the masses when making this record.
I was hoping to see what else the lead guitarist could do, but I found out there were hardly any solos on here, and the ones that were there weren't very interesting.
There is a tribute to 80's metal called "Pain for Pleasure", and some rap-rock ("Fat Lip") but other than that everything pretty much sounds the same.
Now, I haven't heard anything else they've done, and I'm not going to judge them on just one album, if you like simple pop-punk then you'll like this album, if not you won't. That is all.
Sum 41 on this album is:
Deryck Whibley (Bizzy D) - Guitar, Lead Vocals
Dave Baksh (Brown Sound) - Guitar, Backup Vocals
Cone McCaslin - Bass
Steve Jocz (Stevo 32) - Drums
Sum's All Killer.......2006-06-30
It was in 2001, when the punk group Sum-41 finally hit it big with the release of their breakthrough album: ALL KILLER NO FILLER. The band received radio and televised airplay like crazy. Sum-41 also landed soundtrack spots for copilation CD's, the film Spider-man, and the television show Malcom In The Middle. It was clear that the public had finally come around to listening to the punk group's music. The public had good reason. Sum-41 has a great sense of when and how much distortion to use in their very interesting and fast paced rhythm changes. The guitars have a great taste in creating simple but very unique melodies. The bass gives the extra fill in creating the band's harmonies, and the drums keep everything together. The lyrics to ALL KILLER NO FILLER are amusing and can even be considered to be slightly contraversial for the track "Fat Lip". The lyricist makes honest and "in your ears" remarks about society and its expectations of its citizens. ALL KILLER NO FILLER is a fun piece of work, and one I highly recomend hearing in its entirity.
Stand out tracks include:
"Fat Lip"
"Rhythms"
"Motivation"
"In Too Deep"

Jerry Lee - The Original and Only Killer !.......2007-01-17
Back in 1969 I was 15 years old. I lied my age and got a job working on a National Brewery Beer truck making deliveries in the west Baltimore section of that city. At the end of the work day the Driver I worked with stopped at a joint on West Baltimore St to fill out the manifest, the name of the place was "Fred's Sports Bar". While waiting I would drink pony bottled of National and play the juke box. In 1969 there was a lot of good Country out. I remember many of my favorates like "Never more quote the Raven" by Stonewall Jackson or "I got stripes" by Johnny but what I dug the most was Jerry Lee Lewis who in '69 was pure honky tonk country. I was already a huge fan of Jerry's Rock & Roll music and had many good 45's and LP's but when I first heard stuff like "What's made Milwaukee famous (has made a loser out of me) I was again hooked on the Killer. Being a die hard Classic Country and Western Swing fan I thought Jerry was right up there with the likes of Bob Wills and Moon Mulligan (Jerry's own original idol). This set is so Outstanding that 5 stars don't cut it. Those country hits he did while at Mercury are some of the Best Country ever recorded. If you are even just a Rock fan of Jerry's you will love this collection as do the rest of us Hillbillys!
"Enjoy" Joe Kopeck Parkville/MD
johnarthur.......2007-01-03
Most of the songs in this CD are the reflections of an old guy looking back on his life. If you're an old guy like me and if you ever think about some of your mistakes, you'll probably like the way Jerry Lee does it.
Alan D.R........2006-08-06
I always thought The Killer was a Rock n Roll artist until I heard one of his Country tracks. O boy does he know how to tell a story. This CD is my style of Country. Every track is good and his version of 'Me And Bobby McGee' is as good as any I have heard despite what others have said of it.
this is real country.......2006-07-25
this is jerry lee at his best waiting for a train is a great take as well as she even woke me up to say goodbye a bargain and a often played favorite
Fortunately a never ending story..........2006-07-21
Whether you like Rock & Roll, Boogie Woogie, Blues, Country,
Gospel, Honky Tonk or whatever other kind of genuine American
music, there are probably only 2 artists in the music industry
that were brilliant in each and every kind of these styles:
Elvis and Jerry Lee and the latter fortunately is stile alive
and still playing concerts and making it a never ending story.
Without any doubt this "Killer Country" compilation is the
best Jerry Lee Lewis' C&W CD you will find on the market. It has
20 of his greatest country hits from the first 10 years of his
country performing era (1968-1977). A real must for Jerry Lee
fans and for all of those who "just" like good-old honky-tonk
C&W music. By the way, Jerry Lee will be in Spain next month
and jam that piano again being only 71 years "young" .

Beware.......2007-06-04
The low rating does not refer to the quality of the songs in this album, which is, of course, a total Scorpions classic. The low rating is to thsi edition especifically. It is not remastered, the sound is crap, one of the worst transfers from LP to CD that I have witnessed. Just be warned.
buy this album its Ulis last scorp album.......2007-05-14
an excellent early scorpions release. Uli Roths final album with the crew.
Another must have.
THE best Uli Roth album,hands-down (whatever that means)!!.......2007-03-01
Virgin Killer is the ultimate Roth-era Scorpions record for me.The others are good, but this one just rocks more and has more variety, not to mention Uli is balls out on almost every track.Catch Your Train stands up to the legendary performance of Sails Of Charon quite well,in my opinion.I actually prefer it,as it just seems even heavier, and Uli is shredding all over the place. The whacked out chord in Crying Days will stick in your mind forever. There are so many great guitar moments on this disc,I could go on and on...the solo on Backstage Queen....the entire Hendrix-tinged Polar Nights.....just magic.
If you only get one Uli Roth cd,let this be the one.
A very good album.......2007-02-23
This is a really good album if you like old scorpions (Uli Roth era). I don't think it's quite as good as the other uli-roth albums (Taken by Force, Fly to the Rainbow, In Trance) but still good. (It has some excellent individual songs, but as an entire album it just doesn't have quite the same energy. Just my opinion.) Worth adding to the collection, though, if you're a fan.
Virgen Killer (SCORPIONS).......2006-11-23
Virgen Killer was a pretty good album for the year that came out and during that era the sound was raw and original this album has been part of my collection for many years,I do wanna point out that there's a missinformation from the EDITORIAL REVIEWS Michael Schenker had nothing to do with this album, the album you're refering to is LOVEDRIVE 1979 He played lead guitar on 3 songs after quiting UFO and went on to form his own band THE MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP (MSG)!

novelty.......2006-05-19
this album will never be more than a novelty, despite a few funny tracks.
to the guy who sounded all high and mighty with his tool comment, note that maynard sings ONE line on the entire album, so making a comment like 'hes the vocalist' would be quite an overstatement. sometimes actually using your brain/ears does wonders
Jelly-filled........2005-11-27
When I think of the origins of Green Jelly (Jello), I think of some metal-heads who decided they would have the most fun as a band if they tried to be as stupid as possible. I mean that in a good way. A glance at the album cover should tip you off. Musically these guys are fairly competent, and come off as a decent alt/punk/metal act, (think Gwar or The Dwarves). However, it's lyrically that these guys let loose, and make their name. I'd imagine Beavis and Butthead would love this band. Truthfully alot of it is pretty funny, and they're probably rather smart to sound so not. I have to admit, I only play this disc once a year at most, but I'm glad it's there when I need that fix.
I Love this Cd.......2005-09-23
from what i read and have reseached, this band only made 2 CD's too bad, because they were great. they were once knowns as green jello, till they were about to be or were (not sure) sued by the jello company. They will always be known as Green Jello to me. When i first heard this CD, i was around teh age of 4-6, I guess my dad had bought it. the only song i ever heard at that age was 3 little pigs. years, later still listening to that song, i decided to listen to the whole album. I enjoyed every single song. litke i havr read some of the songs are not for little kids, but then again i don't care, i would let my offsprings listen to it at an early age. i can't tell you to buy it or not, but i can tell you is that, this album and band are fun to listen too. personally i love the Obey the Cowgod. even now i will occasional pop in the CD and listen to the music.

I'm old school. They're still Green Jello to me.......2004-12-07
Oh the brilliance. This album has quietly etched itself a spot in the hearts of all rock n rollers. When they first attacked our visual and auditory senses on MTV with 'Three Little Pigs' we all knew that this band was worthy of being checked out. And right we were.
WHo else could take the Sex Pistols' "Anarchy in the UK" and turn it into a Yabba-Dabbo-doo Flinstone's Theme song? Brilliant I say again.
Of course this album can be played the whole way through without hitting the >> button once. Who can deny themselves of driving down the highway while screaming out "It's Poo poo! Poo poo! Poo Poo! I got poo poo on my shoe!" Yes we all remember singing this driving 90 MPH down I-75.
Good ol' trailer trash metal I call this. And you know what? There are thousands of bands making music like this everyday. Just checkout sites like SOundclick.com and Garageband.com. There are some really sick, crazy people out there (My self included. I am lead singer and guitarist for The Buttplugs). We can thank Green Jello for starting this wave of mass stupidity and foresight. This is the band that revolutionized the home recording studio.
Inde musicians everywhere must bow to the brilliance (I say it again) of this band for opening the doors for all the lunatics. Green Jello may have been the first 'Video Only' band, but they are far from the last. I just want to say on behalf of all guitar playing perverts........Thank you Green Jello.

Only two good songs.......2007-05-07
The only songs I can stand listening to on this album are Rooney's amazing "Death on Two Legs" and Sum 41's surprisingly good "Killer Queen."
Joss Stone's "Under Pressure" makes me sick.
Not too shabby!.......2007-01-27
Hardly the best Queen tribute album out there but some songs are worth listening... I might even dare to say that, in some cases, I enjoyed the cover versions more than the originals. Anyway, here's my 2 cents:
ONE STAR
We are the Champions, Under pressure
To me, the worst songs on the album. The whole soulish innuendos didn't do it to me. The chorus on 'Champions' is supposed to be inspiring, a tour de force if you will. Instead we get a poor, sluggish delivery and that just destroyed the whole vibe. As for, under pressure I skip it everytime it comes up; simply annoying.
TWO STARS
Sleeping on the sidewalk, Stone cold crazy
Didn't care too much for both these songs. Although the vibe on 'Sleeping' is entertaining at best, the song as a whole feels weak. 'Stone' should've been a no-brainer but instead these guys deliver a sluggish and boring version; the stripped the vibe of the original song!
THREE STARS
B.R. by Constantine, Good old fashioned lover boy
Watered down versions of the original songs and too much on the copy-paste side. They sould've taken more chances but it seems that they're lacking in the creativity department. Enjoyable at best.
FOUR STARS
Killer Queen: I was expecting a punk version or a major bomb but instead we get a reigned-in Sum 41. I liked the vibe and my only objection would be that the lack of pre-bends on the guitar solo.
'39: I liked this version better than the original and I think the production was right on the money. A nostalgic song with good vocal arrangements.
Play the game: Nice tune with some tweaks here and there. Didn't depart too much from the original. I liked the guitar-strummed parts at different parts of the song.
Death on two legs: These guys managed to capture the vibe of the original, cleaned it up and added a bit here and there for good measure. A cool song with the right delivery and attitude. Good work!
Tie your mother: A no-brainer vibe-wise and one of the most enjoyable songs of the album.
Crazy little thing called love: Ever wonder what this song would sound if The Cars covered it? Well, this song is not the best answer but there's a definite Cars vibe to it. It starts out slow but then picks up the pace. Thumbs up!
FIVE STARS
B.R. by Flaming Lips: Wow! I really liked the whole Strawberry-fields- forever-kinda-vibe and the arrangements as a whole. Makes the other coer version pale in comparison as far as arrangement and creativity goes. Amazing work!
Fat Bottomed girls: Excellent version! Arguably the best song on the whole album. These girls deliver a cheeky version with some folk vibes and take the song all the way home!
Who wants to live forever: This is a great example on how a cover should be done. These guys adapted the song to suit their style and a result we have a honest, bold and inspired tune. Excellent rendition!
UNDECIDED
Bycicle race: Hmmm... I don't know what to make of this one! It's either a bold, gutsy gem or a bomb. Quite a departure from the original and either the lyrics inspired them to play the cover this unkempt way or they were listening to a lot of Sonic Youth. Listen and decide!
Pretty decent cover record. I would give 5 stars if no Constantine........2006-11-07
Constantine's version of Bohemian Rhapsody is way too "paint-by-numbers" and dare I say weaker than the original. Just like most of the American Idol covers on TV. The Flaming Lips version is not for the faint of heart. The track could be on any of their albums from the mid-eighties to 1995. It's the Lips doing what they always do.
Joss Stone's cover of Under Pressure on one hand sounds great. On the other hand, the problem in my opinion is her vocals. She doesn't sing the lyrics with the urgency that Freddie did. She glosses right over the lyrics.
Murderous cover versions.......2006-06-17
If ANYONE can cover a Queen song with the spirit of Freddie Mercury remaining intact, I say more power to them. Having said that, every copy of this absolutely excruciating album should be fired into the sun.
To dignify it with any more extensive kind of review would mean having to subject myself to Jason Mraz's "Limp-Wristed Lover Boy" and Joss Stone's HORRIBLE attempt of "Under Pressure" one more time, and I won't do it.
Lighten up! The artists here are not trying to be Queen Tribute bands,.........2006-06-15
By now everyone knows what a tribute band is: Beatlemania, 1964 a tribute to the Beatles, ...I even saw that there is a touring Alice in Chains tribute band. Tribute bands seek to exactly duplicate the original band. Any original band with any originality is going to take some liberty with the material, interpret it differently, maybe update it, and hopefully pass it on and interest a new audience to this great music. The true tribute of this album is hearing the influence of Queen on a new generation of artists. There's only 1 exception. Joss Stone is a fantastic vocalist but her track came across as self-indulgent- way too much R&B vocal riffing.
Having said that, the stand out tracks are Tie Your Mother Down by Shinedown and Fat Bottomed Girls by Antigone Rising. Having covered these songs myself in smoky, hole-in-the- wall bars, I appreciated the fact that the guitarists from Antigone Rising identified Brian May's riffs as "country/rockabilly" in origin. The rest of the band follows suit in putting a refreshing southern spin on this rollicking rocker. This track alone is reason enough to buy this album.

Customer Reviews:
Three great albums, one great price.......2007-05-24
This set contains all the material from Fly to the Rainbow, In Trance, and Virgin Killer! I had been waiting for remastered versions of these albums to be released in the US, as they did with Lonesome Crow, Taken By Force, and Tokyo Tapes. Since that hasn't happened, this is your best alternative.
The standard warning on 70's era Scorpions music applies here. This isn't the Scorpion's everyone knows and loves from the 1980's. Their sound was very different during the 1970's due to Ulrich Roth's influence. His songs are more jazzy/psychedelic and his singing is very different than Klaus Meine's, or anyone else you've ever heard. Someone exploring 1970's era Scorpions for the first time may want to start with Taken By Force or the excellent live album Tokyo Tapes as the price is much lower and both albums are a good representation of the band's sound during this time. For everyone else familiar with the Scorpions of the 1970's, buy this set! You won't be disappointed. Where else can you get three great import albums for under $40?
THE 2, I MEAN THE 3 BEST SCORPIONS ALBUMS EVER.......2007-05-16
these are truly the best scorpions albums ever... In Trance and Virgin Killer. Very well digitally mastered and complete with liner notes and photos but the best is... The 7 bonus tracks are actually all 7 tracks from the second album Fly to the Rainbow. Digitally mastered. So you actually get 3 albums at a very good price. Since these were the only 3 albums left unmastered now you can have all the catalogue remastered and sounding good...

Makes My Heart Ache.......2007-04-16
I grew up in San Francisco, not So Cal, but these songs remind me of not only my adolescent and teen years but my older sisters who is no longer with us. I remember being about 10 years old and her having her red radio under the bed at night and listening to these songs while she was in bed and i danced to them too.
Best Oldies of All Time ! ! Great Music ! !.......2004-02-24
Art Laobe's "60 Killer Oldies" is a 4 CD collection of some of the greatest music of all time.
One of the CD's is entitled, "Memories of El Monte: The roots of L.A.'s Rock and Roll." The first song on that CD is "Memories of El Monte." Here are just a few of the words to that song:
If they only had those dances again,
I'd know where to find you and all my old friends...
Earth angel, earth angel will you be mine at El Monte...
If we could go back to
The days of the past,
I'd show you a love
A love that would last.
O I remember those wonderful
Dances in El Monte.
In El Monte.
I grew up in the San Bernardino area and all my friends used to go to those dances at the American Legion Hall in El Monte during the 1960's. I never did get to go to any of the dances in El Monte, but had always wanted to. I always danced at the National Guard Armory in Riverside, the VFW Hall in Rialto, or the Swing Auditorium in San Bernardino or the Kaiser Dome.
All of the songs on these CDs invoke emotions in me that bring both laughter and tears and they always give me a longing for the "Good O' Days." Now day it seems as though the only way to go to a dance is to go to a bar. Back then, there were dances everywhere. Bar hopping isn't my style, but I miss those old dances including the ones in peoples garages or living rooms.
Art Laboe used to be a DJ on KRLA from Pasadena. KRLA and XPRS were my two favorite radio stations. I don't even know if KRLA even exists any more since I no longer live in the Southern California area.
Anyway, the songs on these CDs remind me of the dances, the radio, my first boy friend, my first love, my marriage, my first child, and my youth. O to be young and in love again!
All of the songs are good and it's difficult to choose a single favorite, but among my many favorites are "Angel Baby," "Daddy's Home," "Dedicated To The One I Love," "Together," "Baby I'm For Real," "Natural High," "10 Commandments of Love," "I'm Your Puppet," "Confessin' A Feeling," "In The Still of The Night, and "Those Oldies But Goodies Remind Me of You." But really, I like all of the songs on this CD collection.
I give this set of CDs five stars plus plus *****++.
Simply the best ! ! !
Had them on Cassette, way back when...need to get the CD's!!.......2001-07-27
Hello....Back about 7 years ago, I got my dream car, a fire red '64 Impala. I bought all of Art's cassette that were available at the time, a must have to go along with my beautiful dream car and cruisin the streets of the Bay Area.
In the course of the last 7 years, they have either gotten worn out or just lost. I love all of these songs and reminds me of listening to my moms old record player, running around and singing songs with my brush as a microphone.
A must-have for any helpless romantic like myself.
Enjoy!!
BEST OLDIES EVER.......2000-04-06

Customer Reviews:
All hail... Lord Stiv.......2007-05-07
The Lords of the New Church. A bunch of guys from different style bands that produced a different style of music for the 80's. They were at times punk, goth, glam... a little of all those things , but always produced interesting music. Great live band, provided Stiv was not too wasted. Never heard a band that was similar since. The first two albums are the best, Killer lords is a good compilation, but some good songs from both those first 2 albums are not on this one. Still a good cd if you dont want to shell out a lot of dough to get the first two albums on cd.
Sell outs never sounded so good!.......2004-12-24
Of course Stiv--RIP--Bators sold out after disbanding the infamous Dead Boys (whose debut LP is an unadulterated punk classic), but compared to such shallow KISS acolyte contemporaries as Motley Crue, or even (don't laugh) that awful Canadian band Platinum Blonde, this stuff was and is much, much better.
Beyond that, it still holds up, can you believe it?
All the hits are really here; "Dance With Me", "Open Your Eyes" (which was at least as good as Duran Duran's best stuff--why wasn't it a number 1?), "Russian Roulette", and their amazing cover of "Like A Version" (which still gets people moving when I play it today). I think it's even better and more comprehensive than the Lords Anthology.
Pick it up and admit you lived through the 80s and survived. Thankfully, so did this.
Gimme some russian roulette..........2004-07-06
The Lords of the New Church were a neglected 80's goth/punk band. This CD is a greatest hits of sorts which includes Dance With Me (which had minor play on MTV in the early 80's), Method To My Madness, and Russian Roulette (my favorite song by them). They even covered Madonna's "Like A Virgin" which is included on this cd. If you're into 80's goth such as Bauhaus, check out the Lords today!
Really Good, But Some Odd Selections.......2004-03-20
This was my first experience into the Lords music. Being a huge Stiv/Dead Boys fan, after the initial shock at the format/content changes, the songs became mainstays in my CD lineup. However, as I grew as a fan, I began to realize how a number of these selections, "Opening Nightmares," "Dreams and Desires," "A Gun Called Justice," and "Hey Tonight" are all good songs, there are more "Lordsy" songs that should've been included. "Pretty Baby Scream," "Partners In Crime," and the biggest omission, "Livin' on Livin'," are all selections that are much better representations of who the Lords were: A great garage band, exploring new territories all the time. The other included tracks that I felt should've been omitted seemed more like studio experiments and corporate pushes ("Like a Virgin, anyone?) All in all, a pretty good anthology and great introduction into the Lords of the New Church and who they were. "Killer Lords" is a great first CD, but their self-titled debut is where the listener starts to see what kind of band they were. Turner and James inherently playing surf rock, Tregunna on bass with some of the tastiest and simplest riffs, and of course, Stiv Bators, one of the greatest frontmen ever.
All Killer, No Filler.......2003-12-26
The Lords Greatest Hits. Like any other LORDS album, a meaningful masterpiece and certainly significant theosophically, against the backdrop of most 80's vibrant/vapid offerings.

By far their best, now even better with the bonus tracks!.......2006-01-13
I remember hearing the song "Dirty Weapons" on some metal compilation and I just thought, what a great song. I had to check out more of the Killer Dwarfs. I remember seeing a video on MTV years and years ago where I think his name is Russ is in box being bounced around town. I can't remember the song but a very interesting video. I never saw it again. Needless to say label support was lacking with this band. That is why they didn't get the video rotation or airplay back then. Evidence is this here album or should I say CD. The material on this is strong rock and even contains a power ballad, "Doesn't Mattter", a prerequisite in the 80's hair band days. The band liked it so much they released it again on the "Method To The Madness" CD, the era from where this recording hails. Anyway let's get to the music.
1. Dirty Weapons 10/10. Just fantastic
2. Nothin' Gets Nothin' 9/10 Great riffs
3. All That We Dream 9/10 Great beat
4. Doesn't Matter 8/10 I am not a huge power ballad fan but a good song nonetheless.
5. Last Laugh 8/10 a good rocker
6. Comin' Through 10/10 Another of the big songs from this release.
7. One Way Out 9/10 very good song that keeps the momentum up
8. Appeal 7/10 one of the weaker songs
9. Not Foolin' 9/10 more great riffs
10. Want It Bad 9/10 great closer
Most if not all of these songs have catchy chorus and just meaty guitar riffs. Very underrated album from the 80's. but wait. There is more. 5 BONUS TRACKS from the "Method To The Madness" CD. Not nearly as good of an album but the 2 best tunes are included here in "Method To The Madness" & "Cowboys And Conmen". The other 3 tracks are competent enough but "Dirty Weapons" the CD was still their best release. Check it out and see if you don't agree with me. The Bonus tracks just help make this an even better CD. Recommended for all fans of 80's metal.
Spectacular rock gem! .......2004-09-06
This record is really good!!! I wore out my cassette back in the 90's so I had to buy it on disc. Very underrated band that were talented and made really fun, rock music. Dirty Weapons, Last Laugh, Coming Through(my ode to the liberals), Not Foolin and Want it bad are just some of the gems here. A must buy. It should've sold at least 5 million, easy. Oh well, I bought it and that's all that matters. I'm happy and you will be too, so get it, now. This is one of the last real good metal records to come out before the horrible grunge sound ruined it all. This is a must have. Buy it, crank it up and grab a cold one...rock on. Go Dunk!!!
Santa's worst nightmare.......2003-10-21
With a name like Killer Dwarfs, how could you go wrong? Oh, you've never heard of them? Well, neither did I until 12 years ago when I forgot to send back that damn music club reply card. I found the band's fourth album, Dirty Weapons in my mailbox. To my surprise, they blew me away!
Formed in 1981, Killer Dwarfs established a solid following in their home country of Canada with their self-titled debut. In 1984 the U.S. started to take notice when the band released Keep the Spirit Alive, the first single from their sophomore album entitled Stand Tall. The accompanying video was added to regular rotation on MTV. Later that year Killer Dwarfs were signed by Epic Records to a worldwide deal. The band released their second album for Epic, Dirty Weapons in 1990.
The title track opens the album with a driving metal riff that says, "Let's rock!" (Though the message is highly political.) Russ Dwarf has a great melodic voice, which can be compared to Jack Russell (Great White) but with a much higher range. Guitarist Mike Dwarf tears it up with catchy hooks, and shredding solos in the vain of George Lynch (Dokken) among others. All of the songs including "Nothing Gets Nothing", "All That We Dream", "Last Laugh", and "Coming Through" have the typical metal format: Opening riff, verse, chorus, solo, back to verse. But, isn't that what we loved about 80's metal? "One Way Out" has a 'bluesy' tone to it. As the album winds down with "Appeal", "Not Fooling", and "Want it Bad", the music loses the punch that the earlier songs had, but are still great melodic pieces. The bands biggest hit off the album was "It Doesn't Matter", an acoustic ballad. It went to number one in 13 cities.
If you're a fan of 80's metal, you need to pick up Dirty Weapons. It's a great metal album that got lost in the shuffle.
This album is killer, dude!.......2001-06-10
I'm wondering who will be reading this review? About the only person that might be checking out Killer Dwarfs stuff is Jim Bob Dwarf. Oh well. I bought the original version of this back in 1990. I just thought they had a cool name and wondered what they sounded like. To my suprise, this was a pretty good album. It has an 80's melodic metal sound. No filler here. I also have the album that the extra tracks come from. Those songs are pretty good too. I would recommend this to anyone who liked late 80's metal and has some money to burn. GO DUNK!!
Follow-up to BIG DEAL.......2001-01-22
Made in USA in 2000, Serial# COL-6451, Playing Time: 61 min.
This is KD's 4th album, originally released in 1990. This re-mastered version includes 5 bonus tracks lifted from their next album, "Method To The Madness" (another 6 tracks appeared on the "Big Deal" re-mastered CD). Left out of these re-issues is the re-recorded version of "Doesn't Matter".
"Dirty Weapons" is a nice follow-up to "Big Deal", and shows that the band has evolved: the material has more complex arrangements, not as "simple and catchy" as "Big Deal". It takes a few listens to absorb, and I don't like it as much as "Big Deal"; it has good guitar work and is well produced.
Listen to the tracks "Dirty Weapons" and "All That We Dream": the first is more in the vein of the "Big Deal" album, while the latter represents the general "sound" of "Dirty Weapons".
And if you're like me and both tracks appeal to you, you're in for a treat if you get both albums from this under-rated band.
