A must have for Christmas.......2007-01-11

I bought this CD because i am a fan of the Wilson sisters music first, and secondly because it was so highly recommended by others. It does not disapoint at all. The original tunes are hauntingly beautiful, with diverse melodies, and of course Ann and Nancy are in a league of their own vocally. The more you listen, the more you want to.

Being a Heart fan, I always look forward to hearing anything new from these fantastic sisters.
Well, this is new to me.
As a Heart album, this takes all of the weakest material and gloms it onto a CD. As a Christmas album, it just barely hangs in there.
The tone of the record is low key, EXTREMELY low key. There's no excitement of the season, no happiness exhibited through the music, and lastly, no example of what made this band great.
Every song, just sashays along at a stultifyingly slow to moderately slow speed, with the emphasis placed soley upon the lyric. That's great if you're selling a poetry recording, but it lacks, dare I say it, balls.
I didn't come into this expecting "Barracuda" with sleigh bells, but for crying out loud, the record just lays there, barely moving, sort of like hibernating mammal.
Yes, there's romance, but even romance has some sort of life to it. This recording has no life to it.
Without some sort of energy, romance becomes sleep.
I cannot recommend this to anyone with the possible exception of those with insomnia.

Amazing Christmas CD--but I vote for even MORE expansion..........2005-12-26

It would be great to have all of Ann & Nancy's holiday recordings on one disc at last. While adding 2 new tracks to this reissue, it would have been great if they had added "The River" from their CD "The Road Home," "Blue Christmas" from "a Very Special Christmas volume 2", and Ann's acapella version of "Auld Lang Syne," which I have only seen on a budget MCA holiday CD called "The Holiday Collection volume 3".

Brazenly Romantic.......2005-12-06

Ann and Nancy Wilson and the gang have created a stunning Christmas album. There is a great mix of Wilson originals plus several traditional Christmas songs. Every song here is a winner and Ann and Nancy's vocals shine throughout. Absolute standouts are: "How Beautiful", "The Last Noel" - with lead vocal by Frank Cox, this is the surprise winner of the set: a reflection on the passing of time, the a-capella "Oh Holy Night!", "Christmas Waits", and "It's Christmas Time". The production is lush and soft - - making this a perfect Christmas recording. It's a classic!

Im 13. And a HUGE Heat fan. This is what you have to have for not only the holiday season but also for the whole year. I like to listen to all year. ITS THE BEST BUY!

In 2001, Heart released their eighteenth album entitled, HEART PRESENTS A LOVEMONGERS' CHRISTMAS. Yep, you guessed it, a Holiday album. But there is a twist to this album. Back in 1998, Ann and Nancy, with their side band, The Lovemongers, released a Holiday album entitled, HERE IS CHRISTMAS. Well, HEART PRESENTS A LOVEMONGERS' CHRISTMAS is the re-release of The Lovemongers' Christmas album. But Ann and Nancy decided to have the album go under a Heart name as well. This is a joyful Holiday album

HERE IS CHRISTMAS
Great way to start off your Holiday album.

BALULALOW
A beautiful Holiday song, that sort of separates itself from the usual Santa Claus concept and goes into the Jesus Christ sound. This is a beautiful song displaying the real reason to why Christmas is celebrated. Not only is this a beautiful song, but it is also sung by both Ann Wilson and Nancy Wilson, who both take the lead vocals position on this song. Beautiful song.

Great Holiday tune.

WILLIAM AND ROSE
Not bad.

AVE MARIA
It's on to the traditional Christmas classics.

HOW BEAUTIFUL

THE LAST NOEL (Performed by Frank Cox of THE LOVEMONGERS)
This song was actually song by Frank Cox, who is a member of THE LOVEMONGERS. A very nice Holiday song.

This is one the greatest Christmas Presents any Heart fan could receive. Make sure to put this on your Christmas list, and remember one thing: "...They're making a list, and checking it twice, Heart's gonna find out who's naught or nice. Heart is coming to town..."

What a Christmas gift.......2003-07-01

I am always wary of rock and roll Christmas albums. They are usually hit-and-miss at best. Ann and Nancy Wilson prove that they are far above the rest with their (originally titled) "Here is Christmas" by their band, Lovemongers (not Heart). The album is filled with beautiful melodies, new ("Here is Christmas" and "The Last Noel" my favorites) and old (Ann's vocals on the adapted "Ave Maria" and "O Holy Night" are among her best--truly stunning). "The Last Noel", with lyrics, music, and vocals by Frank Cox, is one of the best new Christmas songs I've heard in the past thirty years. I can't imagine a Christmas without this CD. BUY IT! It's a wonderful gift, even for yourself. Get yourself in the right Christmas frame of mind with Lovemongers.

Unique Christmas Collection.......2003-01-03

This is an excellent album. Ann Wilson sings most of the leads and does her usual outstanding job. The lovemongers sing 2 leads and do an equally great job. The last Noel is a melancholy take on the first Noel, sung beautifully by a male singer of the lovemongers. Nancy Wison leads on "Christmas waits", which sounds like a Dione Warwick song. I think there are no weak cuts on this cd. Very original and there seems to be a "Renisance" theme. Oh Holy Night is done occapella style and you hardly notice that there is no musical backing because it has such a full, rich sound.William and Rose is a nostalgic piece about love coming home for Christmas as families get together for Christmas.If you like heart, especially their accoustic, mellower stuff, you'll love this cd.

One of the best holiday Cds I've heard in a long time, with fresh new Christmas music. Most of the songs on this Cd were written by Ann and Nancy. I highly recommend this one!!

Great CD, but..........2001-12-18

This is a great CD, but don't be misled, it is a repackage of The Lovemongers "Here is Christmas". At first I thought Annn and Nancy had created a 2nd CD, but no, this is just a more "commercial" package to trade in on the Heart name. If you have Lovemongers, skip this. If you don't, then buy it.

To all of you devoted heart fans this is truly a must have . Annie still has those gorgeous golden pipes (Is there anything that this gifted woman can't sing and make it seem magical?)As for nancy harmonies melt together like warm butter & she just breathes guitar .Try it I know you'll love it!

I have been a heart fan since as far back as I can remember. This album is a richly textured, melodic treat. If you liked the albums "Little Queen" or BeBe Le Strange" you will enjoy this delicate, pure, and moving xmas album.
