Double live album originally released in 1990. The album was recorded during their 1989 US tour to mark the 20th anniversary in 1989 of their rock opera 'Tommy'. During the tour The Who performed it live, almost in its entirety, along with classic songs including 'I Can See For Miles', '5.15', 'Behind Blue Eyes', Won't Get Fooled Again', 'You Better You Bet' & tracks from their solo releases. Great to Hear All those great Voices from the Past.......2007-07-05

I just wanted to confirm what the first reviewer had to say about this CD. To hear Ethyl Merman, Mary Martin, Andrea McCardle etc. singing their trademark songs brought a lot of memories from the mid-centry musical theater back again. The last song by Glynis Johns is especially poignant.
You certainly can't beat the price!

A Good One!.......2006-11-10

This is a very good CD, mostly because it's the original artists. I've had some that were re-recorded by no name artists that were ghastly. This one is a really good one--including the sound quality. If I had one wish, I would wish it were longer!

No Greater Voice in this Century!.......2003-12-10

In the late 1970's when Jessye Norman first appeared as the Diva of Sopranos, Robert Shaw, himself called her the "greatest Voice of the 20th Century!" Since we are now into the 21st Century, it is time we come to know her better thru her natural genre from the Southern Style of Black Spirituals. After playing her early CD for several years on the way to and fro to GA Diagnostic Prison, I still get overwhelmed by her awesome sounds singing, "And I Could'nt Hear Nobody Pray" ; "There's A Man Going Round, Taking Names" ; "There Is A Balm In Gilead" ; "Walk With Me , Children" ; "Hush, Somebody's Calling My Name" and of course... "Were You There..." If you wish to find an Ideal Christmas Gift or Birthday Gift for a Southern Girl... This is IT!
She seems to get better and better in every Christmas Video from First Baptist Church of Augusta, GA.
