The original Alice Cooper band was one of the finest hard-rock units of the early '70s, which is why the second disc of this remastered version of Billion Dollar Babies is such a treat. Eleven bonus tracks from the band's 1973 tour display the Cooper band's taste for pop-culture--and a sense of humor, as Alice quotes from Don McLean's "American Pie" on a wonderful version of "I'm Eighteen," while the band delivers a ripping "Theme from Perry Mason" during an extended workout of "Unfinished Sweet." Rounded out with session outtakes, the second disc will have fans praying that Rhino unearths more live material. As for Billion Dollar Babies itself, it may not be the Cooper band's best album, but it was the final release of a quartet of extraordinary Bob Ezrin-produced hard-rock records (rounded out by Love It to Death, Killer, and School's Out), and it captures the moment when the band was at their peak. Including three hit singles in "Hello Hooray," "Elected," and "No More Mr. Nice Guy," the album--from Donovan's exciting cameo on the title track to the closing "I Love the Dead" (probably the prettiest ode to necrophilia ever recorded)--still sounds terrific. And the packaging, production, music, and imagery has inspired followers as diverse as the Sex Pistols, Marilyn Manson, and Hole. --Bill Holdship --This text refers to the Audio CD edition.

Poor dvd audio sonicly.......2007-05-06
Although the album is good, the dvd audio expectation was well below par. Compared to other dvd audios this is edgy, bass is mushy and the surround mix is non existent.
Billion Dollar Babies w Bonus Disc.......2007-03-14
The bonus tracks on Disc 2 are great...mostly live tracks of Alice at his early-70s drunken glory. Fun!!
Great remastered classic, now with an excellent sounding live concert from that era........2007-01-27
I have an extensive alice cooper collection, and when this album was re-issued in 2001, I hoped it would be good, and it was. It contains the original album, which is awesome in itself, but it also contains a Concert from 1973 as well, which sound great. Its not just a cheap recording from the era, they actually mastered it well. Worth the money to get this edition, affordable now on amazon.
This is how remasters should be done.......2007-01-06
First off, let me start by saying this is Alice Cooper's best album. Period. From beginning to end, there is not a weak track on it. It is a classic. That's all I really need to say.
Now, let me talk about this superb remaster job. All tracks sound superb, but not just that but 8 of these tracks are on a second disc live, plus 3 other previous Alice tracks and 3 bonus tracks. This 2nd disc is the real treat of this special edition. To me, I think only the Motorhead remasters compare to this. This is how remasters should be done and if you have the original, this is more than worth the price. Excellent stuff here.
Billion Dollar Band.......2007-01-02
I also love this one. The band didn't let success affect their writing. This cd is full of everything everyone hated about Alice cooper and more. The themes dabbled with stuff that is still shocking today like "I Love The Dead" man is that dark and weird. "Sick Things" is also very creepy and beautiful. All of the songs paint a picture of what this band was flirting with and as Alice has said himself,he loved the reaction that it caused. The painted baby on the inner sleeve. The topics were alll sides of humanity that Alice Cooper was exploring and the band got a deep reaction. BBB was for me ,the last GREAT Cooper band album done by Ezrin. Muscle of Love was weak although it included some good stuff it didn't have the magic of the producer. This cd marks a legacy that all shock acts of today need to pay tributr to: The Alice Cooper band and the show
