Back when the major labels were experimenting with the 10" 'Nu-Disc' alternative to 12" LPs, Cheap Trick did the same. The Four track 'Found All The Parts was 75% excellent! I just don't really care for the song Can't Hold On. The Beatles cover Day Tripper is GREAT! In fact, it is my humble opinion that the Tricksters doing what they did here inspired many bands (my own included) to take songs they wanted to cover and add their own little signatures, rather than just a note-by-note regurgitation.

Such A Good Girl and Take Me I'm Yours are just spectacular, textbook Cheap Trick tunes that show that the Beatles weren't the only ones who could achieve 'that' sound.

Nielsen is a very good guitarist. The only reason he's not rated as excellent is because (and I think this is a good thing) he concentrates on being interesting rather than technically superb. Petersson is a MORE than adequate bassist who approaches bass the same was Nielsen approaches guitar. Robin Zander is a tremendous vocalist, and Bun E. Carlos is really quite a good drummer.

Everything together, with Found All The Parts, you've found all the parts. Cheap Trick never lost 'em. They just put them away for a few LPs.

Dude here who would call Tom Petersson a "mediocre bassist" is not a real Cheap Trick fan. Jon Brandt was a fine fill in, but the real essence of what makes Cheap Trick great was the original four members, including one of the rock solid and most creative bassists of all time, Tom Petersson. Smoke that!

Finally! This half Live / half studio EP has finally been issued
on (Import) CD - and digitally remaster for our earwax comfort!
Bless Rick, Rob and Bun E. for this! But it's too short. I was glad to see T.J. Peterson, a mediocore Bassist go, but unfortunately it took his almost ruining the All Shook Up lp to do it. Then the record company forced Jon out and recycled Tom for the second or third time and they've been going downhill ever since [Woke up (dead) with a monster [Peterson?} was the worst! *.5 stars! But this is much better, albeit shorter...

The EP starts with "Day tripper" the best Beatles cover ever heard!! It's even better then the original.This song made me a Beatles fan.I thought:" a band who can write this kind off stuff cant be that bad :-))
"Can't hold on" is a very strong ballad.It's a typical Cheap Trick song and when you hear Robin Zander singing you know what I mean.He makes the difference in this song..
"Such a good girl" takes you back to the " In Color.." sound.(their second album) You'll like it.

"Take me I'm yours" is also a typical CT-song.Sounds simple but a good listener finds some nice tricks in the chords and lyrics.

Good grief.... YES!!!! Cheap Trick is Cheap Trick! I would pay $25.00 for each of these songs. Who needs to get philosophical about it, we all waste money on something. Don't worry about it, buy it, you will be glad you did.
