This is why we will always miss Freddie Mercury.......2007-07-16
Another awesome album by Queen. Powerful, emotional, and yet very typical of Queen.
"The Show Must Go On" says it all. This was the best way Freddie could have ended his last album.
God rest your soul, Freddie!.......2007-07-15
If only for nothing more than the fact that Freddie could churn out a CD THIS strong while in his final illness, "Innuendo" would more than justify your purchase. But for Freddie to to have the "cajones" to actually sing "I'm Going Slightly Mad," and "The Show Must Go On.............?" Paul Rodgers is great, but the chemistry's just not the same: there'll never be another Freddie Mercury. RIP, Freddie...
The Show Must Go On.......2007-07-03
This was Queen's final studio album before the tragic passing, only a few months later, of Freddie Mercury, and is a testament to the courage of Freddie, who was already critically ill, when this album was recorded.
Includes the really fun and topsy turvy I'm Going Slightly Mad, the contemplative Don't Try So Hard, the spiritual melody, All God's People, the smooth and reflective These Are The Days Of Our Lives, Freddie's fun ode to his pet cat- Delilah, and Queen's last farewell to their fans, as they knew that this would be their last album with Freddie- The Show Must Go On.
Freddie Mercury's testament to the world will live on forever.
Last for Freddie.......2007-06-30
I think this was Freddie Mercury's last work. Sad to say. He was a showman, though, up to the end.
Overrated.......2007-04-19
I love Queen. I purchased Innuendo because of the great reviews. I think "I Can't Live With You" and "The Show Must Go On" are awesome. I did not enjoy any of the other songs. Compared to the classic "A Night At the Opera" this album is very disappointing.

Swan song of the classic rock legends.......2006-04-06
Innuendo (1991.) Queen's fourteenth studio album.
INTRODUCTION:
After twenty years of rocking the world, the Queen legacy came to a swift and brutal halt on November 24, 1991. Freddie Mercury, the musical and lyrical mastermind who had made the band so successful and so well-known over the years, died due to compilations brought on by the AIDS virus. One of classic rock's most beloved bands was no more. Fans and fellow musicians all around the world mourned the passing of the rock legend. Just a few months prior, though, the band had released its final album together, Innuendo. As Freddie Mercury was coming to terms with his inevitable passing at the hands of the virus, he and his bandmates recorded one last studio album. How does Innuendo, this final album, measure up? Read on to find out!
OVERVIEW:
Queen released the Innuendo album on February 5, 1991. As always, the album featured Freddie Mercury, John Deacon, Brian May, and Roger Taylor. The band produced the album, along with David Richards. Guest musicians on the album include Mike Moran and the legendary Yes/Asia guitarist Steve Howe. Parlophone released the album in the UK and Hollywood released it in the US. The album's tracklist consists of Innuendo, I'm Going Slightly Mad, Headlong, I Can't Live Without You, Don't Try So Hard, Ride The Wild Wind, All God's People, These Are The Days Of Our Lives, Delilah, The Hitman, Bijou, and The Show Must Go On.
REVIEW:
This was Queen's swan song - and their final true studio album to be recorded during Freddie Mercury's lifetime. The album is definitely a little better received amongst fans of the group than the band's eighties material generally was, which was much needed after the unfair bashing that the eighties stuff tended to receive. The band, for their final effort, returned to their earlier heavier sound (at long last), while at the same time experimenting with a variety of sounds. With more of an emphasis on hard rocking tunes, something not seen in quite some time, the band won back many of the old fans they lost in the eighties. Unfortunately, with Mercury's passing just around the corner, it would be a short-lived period of redemption. Nonetheless, Innuendo is a damn good records. Keep reading for a track-by-track analysis!
-Innuendo (Mercury/Taylor):
Six minutes in length, the opening title track of the album is a diverse piece of music that does a damn good job getting things started. There are gloomy parts, anthematic parts, parts that rock hard, and even a Flamenco-style guitar solo served up my guest musician Steve Howe, of Yes and Asia fame! Awesome opening song.
-I'm Going Slightly Mad" (Mercury):
Freddie Mercury serves up an instant classic here. The song has a sound distinctly Mercury's own, but the gloomy instrumentation make it something even more unique than his earlier compositions. Everything about this song is excellent. Definitely one of my personal favorite Freddie Mercury pieces.
-Headlong" (May):
And here we get back to the upbeat, hard and heavy rock courtest of Brian May. This guy knew how to write hard rock tunes, and this is an awesome return to form after the fairly gloomy tone of the album's first two tracks. What more can I say? Another damn good song.
-I Can't Live with You (May):
Another hard-rocking Brian May tune. On this particular composition, he combines the best elements of his hard and heavy sound with those of his soft and melodic one, creating a piece that is the best of both musical worlds. A good piece that shows off both of May's musical sides.
-Don't Try So Hard (Mercury):
Freddie Mercury knew his end was near, and as such, he created many gloomy ballads about coming to terms with his inevitable passing. This is a prime example of that. The gloomy and peaceful, melodic sounds come together nicely here, which goes to show just how diverse Mercury could be when he wanted to. Great song.
-Ride the Wild Wind (Taylor):
It wouldn't be a Queen album without at least some Roger Taylor compositions, now would it? This piece is more like a straightforward hard rocker than anything else, and it definitely stands as a damn good one in the band's catalogue. Another solid composition from Taylor.
-All God's People (Mercury/Moran)
Freddie Mercury wrote this piece with guest musician Mike Moran. It's one of the many excellent Mercury compositions he serves up on this, the final Queen album released during his lifetime. A variety of musical styles are explored here. For its four-minute duration, this song will hold onto your attention and never let it go.
-These Are the Days of Our Lives (Taylor)
Another Roger Taylor song. Unlike his earlier composition on the album, this is a peaceful and melodic ballad. Although it's a far cry from the hard rockers we usually know and love Taylor for, he does an excellent job on it. Great tune.
-Delilah (Mercury)
Freddie Mercury goes back to the poppy-styled numbers that he seemed to enjoy shelling out so much in the eighties, both as a part of Queen and as a solo artist. With eighties-style instrumentation as well as piano playing, it's an interesting little tune. Great stuff from Mr. Mercury, if you ask me.
-The Hitman (Mercury)
Another Mercury piece, but it's a far cry from the previous song! Here he does hard rock mixed with the occasional synthesizer. The amazing thing is just how well this piece works! It's hard rock at its very best, the way it was meant to be heard. Definitely one of the finest Freddie Mercury composition. The fact that the rest of the band are in their prime doesn't hurt either.
-Bijou (May/Mercury)
This is a strange piece, but that doesn't stop it from being an excellent one. Essentially, what you have here is an mostly instumental piece in which the guitar is the main instruement (with the piece being co-written by Brian May, you expected otherwise?) The piece generally has an anthematic tone to it, and remains excellent all the way through.
-The Show Must Go On (Deacon/Taylor/May)
And here we have the aptly-titled farwell piece that Freddie Mercury's bandmates all had a hand in completing. It's a tune that combines the melodic rock and hard rock approaches alike, and the result is something excellent. It was obvious the band had to come to terms with the inevitable death of their frontman in the near future, as you can tell from both the tone of the song and the lyrics alike. A great way to finish off the album, which leaves a lasting impression.
OVERALL:
There you have it - the end of Queen's two decades of rock excellence. From start to finish, Innuendo is a masterpiece definitely worthy of being called Queen's swan song. The band managed to impress audiences through their entire career together, and this album was a fitting end to the band's recording career. It's a shame Freddie Mercury had to die, because he was one of the finest musicans the world had ever known. Either way, the band definitely went out on top with this record. If you're a fan of the band, do not hesitate to buy this one!
EDITION NOTES:
All of Queen's albums were remastered and reissued in America a few years back by Hollywood Records. The remastered, reissued versions feature bonus tracks and expanded/restored liner notes and artwork. The bonus tracks are nothing special, usually just lame remixes. However, these are the most abundant versions of the albums available, so they're the obvious choice to buy.
Queen Comes Good at the Very End (Almost)!.......2005-11-11
This would eventually turn out to be the second last studio album of Queen but it is clear from the choice of material and subject matter of the tracks that they thought that this would be their swansong. Tracks covering issues about various aspects of life from the womb to the tomb are here and especially the standout track "Those Were the Days of Our Lives", a track that still moves me whenever I hear it. The rest of the album is also very good and I'd say that this ranks among Queen's top 5 albums ever. This version is remastered although not that well but the mini-lp sleeve packaging is very nice to look at. Highly recommended for all music fans, Queen or otherwise.

Album Description
From the trenches of brooding acoustic rock, Mission to the Sea finds its own voice with flamenco and bossa nova innuendo cradled in seaside rock sensibilities. The melancholy and lucent voice of Mission to the Sea is accompanied by muted and often minor chords from acoustic guitar. Spry flamenco notes add brightness and complexity while mellow bass and beats add a subtle but plush texture. Their efforts result in articulate but intimate tunes, as worthy of play in downtown night owl digs as they are in sunny beach huts by the Cape!
Customer Reviews:
Very mellow, dreamy. Give it a try........2006-05-17
This is a low-key album that produces a calming effect. "On and On" is a standout track and received a lot of play on XM Radio's Loft. The backup singer, whoever he or she is, has a powerful voice. It's a great contrast to the almost mumbled, soft vocals of the lead singer. Overall the music reminds me of The Sea and Cake's mellower tracks, but without the loopy, Jerry Garcia-esque riffs. Mission's Web site also compares the band to Iron & Wine and Nick Drake. I can see a bit of Nick Drake, particularly his darker "Pink Moon" stuff.

Queen - INNUENDO (1991).......2006-08-11
Queen's legendary lead singer, Freddie Mercury, was diagnosed with AIDS at the end of the 1980s. When the 90s rolled around, Mercury was aware that he didn't have much time left, but insisted that the band continue their work until his death. Mercury's final album turned out to be INNUENDO. Though the album received lukewarm reviews from critics, it was received extremely well by fans, who praised it as one of Queen's finest efforts. That it is. INNUENDO is more of a pop album than most of Queen's releases, though it does have a number of hard rock numbers, namely the excellent title track and the great "The Hitman". The majority of songs on INNUENDO are either highly emotional ("Don't Try So Hard", the marvelous "Show Must Go On") or very playful (particularly the delight "Delilah", an ode to Mercury's cat, or the wonderfully eccentric "I'm Going Slightly Mad"), but they all sound extremely optimistic considering Mercury's state at the time. In the end, though it still has its flaws, INNUENDO is a powerful and very emotional album and a wonderful way to bid the beloved Mr. Mercury farewell.
Their Swansong and a Great Way to Go!.......2005-10-04
By this time, it was very clear that Freddie Mercury was on his last legs. With that, the band decided to do one last great album and what an album it turned out to be. Already by this time, in fact since "The Miracle", Queen decided they had nothing to prove and had starting making music for themselves and were having fun again. The tracks here are very beautiful and introspective as a result and this one in particular has become one of my favourites. "Those Were The Days of Our Lives" still brings a tear to my eyes whenever I hear it. Still, all is not doom and gloom as Freddie's sense of humour is still evident on "I'm Going Slightly Mad" and "Delilah". Other strong tracks are "Ride the Wild Wind" and "Headlong". This remastered version means the cd sound quality is quite good indeed. A highly recommended cd to have in your collection.

Album Description
The band's sound mixes rock, worldbeat, funk, and blues in a unique manner that reflects the wildly divergent musical tastes of the individuals involved. Snipe Hunt's musical philosophy is that four musicians playing together are always at risk of creating songs that sound too similar to each other--therefore, the band tries to touch on as many interesting styles of music as possible (though, it should be noted, that this CD is a "no polka" zone). Lyrically, the songs range from observations of the ugly political and cultural realities of living in this place at this time to just plain cheap sexual innuendos. And, for the first time on a modern Western audio recording, you will be able to hear the sounds of an actual snipe hunt (recorded surreptitiously) from insidious beginning to sad, lonely ending. Snipe Hunt touches upon the Classics in its crepitatous recording "Snipe Hunt Sonata No. 43 in E flat."
Customer Reviews:
Bunch of damn liberals!.......2001-10-11
"We'll be right back!," by Snipe Hunt is a welcome change from the reincarnated "New Kids on the Block" bands that have inundated todays music scene. These guys obviously drink beer, eat red meat, and check out hot women, while the current "Boy Bands" sip bottled water, eat tofu, and check out each other's hair.
You get the feeling Snipe Hunt is having fun, but there are messages in their music. Politics, social structure are mixed in with an eclectic musical blend that will either move you to protest or just ... ... Either way, you cannot deny "We'll be right back!" had no effect on you.
Having heard the CD at the counterculture art festival known as "Burningman," I also camped with Walt Ehresman of Snipe Hunt. I bribed one of the local radio station DJ's with beer so we could hear Snipe Hunt on the air. Turns out she cut one of the songs short because "the guitar solo was too long." Anyway, the CD technically had some airplay and it fit in with Burningman tenet of "Radical Self Expression," while others believe it was "Leave No Trace."
Take it or leave it, "We'll be right back!" makes you think about stuff in general. Stuff like the government, the environment, and about how many beers you can drink while eating a blood-red steak.
Snipe Hunt.... Bullseye!.......2001-10-05
This is a band of unique, talented musicians. Lyrically, it's powerful,
cathartic, satirical and at times, dark. Walter Ehresman doesn't mince words about
political and social injustice. Sadness, anger, disillusionment and cynicism
are at times unrelenting and heavily featured emotions. It's a combination
voyeuristic shrink session and political rant! His lyrics require listeners to pay
attention, ponder their meaning and think of how it relates to their own individual cosmos.
Snipe Hunt Sonata #43 in E flat is the comic relief. You'll be playing it over and over
again! Enjoy!
The monkey knows.......1999-08-26
The task: to explain to the uninitiated as well as those in the know what the Snipehunt CD sounds like. Mission impossible. A discourse on quantum physics would probably make more sense. Weird, obviously, is a given. Reading the lyrics and listening to the stunning vocals and indescribable slap-and-slash bass, one gets the sense that they are completely immersed in a strange world. Though the CD doesn't exclude the average listener (everyone is welcome!), those without an open mind will certainly feel as if they're missing the punch line of a particularly hilarious in-joke. Lovable and bizarre, 'We'll be right back' is a much fuller CD than the band's previously unreleased CD (the previous CD was banned after a Pat Robertson supporter witnessed the live version of 'Sonata No. 43 in E flat) There is definately a place in every collector's vault for one of these gems. This band rulz!

"These boys are unwell, a fact made all the more disturbing by my certainty that they will soon be IN CONTROL around here. To avoid dire retribution during their evil reign, I now enthusiastically give them five stars. Children should only use under proper supervision. I have found this CD to be a great comfort to me while carp fishing and pondering the infinite."
