), and...and...and...Phil Collins. EXCELLENT drummer! But WHY "push the envelope," seeing how annoying he can be? Oh well, "buy the ticket, take the ride," I guess...

What once seemed Queen's greatest liabilities--a preening flamboyance and pompous, overwrought theatricality--have ironically become their most enduring charms in a gray, postmodern pop-music landscape. While it eschews the glammy, pre-punk hard rock of live faves like "Stone Cold Crazy" and "Tie Your Mother Down" for the band's more quirky club-beat string of latter-day hits, this 51-track triple-CD anthology goes a long way toward documenting the true dimensions of the band's music and fame. Some songs may not be instantly familiar to American fans because of yet another irony: just as their U.S. fortunes waned during the punk and new wave era, the band was exploding into true international superstars. Thus, there may be a sense of discovery here, whether of latter-day Queen material or solo work by Brian May and Freddie Mercury, whose duet on "Barcelona" with diva Montserrat Caballé transcends boundaries of both time and genre. A previously unreleased live performance of "The Show Must Go On" featuring Elton John on vocals is also included. --Jerry McCulley
Customer Reviews:
The ULTIMATE Queen collection!!.......2007-06-19
What more is there to say... the Ultimate Queen collection! This is a great collection of songs and any Queen lover will most certainly love this compliation of recordings.
I recommend that any Queen lover get this!!
Just what I wanted!.......2007-03-29
While this is not the completely definitive collection as some of the purists in other reviews would want, this is exactly what I wanted. I do not have any other Queen recordings and I was looking for a package that contained as much as possible in a single set. I am listening to this almost exclusively in the month since I received it and I am not worn out yet.
If you don't have any Queen and you want to buy just one set, this will cover just about everything. The only reason I don't give it a 5 star rating is the obvious omission of "Tie Your Mother Down" and a couple of recording level issues on a couple of tracks, notably "We will rock you, We are the Champions" which are strangely muted relative to most of the other tracks.
Very good.......2007-02-10
I was kind of skeptical buying this CD set, considering that I already own Classic Queen, but I figured I had nothing to lose but $26. I bought it, and here is my opinion:
Disc 1 has most of the Queen hits that are known to almost every classic rock and Queen fan alike. The only disappointment (in my opinion) on this disc was that the full version of Fat Bottomed Girls was not used.
Disc 2 has most of their other hits. Some notable ones include I Want to Break Free, Under Pressure, The Show Must Go On, Hammer to Fall, and Who Wants to Live Forever, which was edited but the full version can be found on Classic Queen.
Disc 3 is not great, but it's good. It has some songs that shouldn't be there, but the only hits on there are Princes of the Universe, Heaven for Everyone, Thank God It's Christmas, and the Somebody to Love duet with George Michael.
Overall, this was a good CD set. If you are a first-timer or a collector, this is good for you. But it's good for anyone, really.

I HAVE WORN OUT TWO SETS OF THIS COLLECTION, THIS IS TO REPLACE ONE, WORN OUT AGAIN, THANKS FOR OFFERNING A TRIPLE SET
Love it!.......2007-01-16
I was not a big fan of Queen-though I've always liked their music, just never owned any of it. I bought it during the holidays for my kids (6,5,&3)for our car trip to Florida. They LOVED it!! Seriously!! My three yr.old likes the "funny song" -Another One Bites the Dust & can sing it word for word-my 5 yr.old loves Killer Queen & Don't Stop Me Now & just about all the other songs on the CD. I thought they would like it because the Chicken Little movie has We are the Champions & all 3 of them sing it...& I was right.

Originally conceived for the British market, where Roxy Music and its debonair frontman Bryan Ferry were much more popular than in the States, The Platinum Collection gathers every band and Ferry single, along with some popular album tracks, on three chronologically arranged discs. As an overview of both acts' extensive and connected careers, from 1973 through Ferry's 2002 Frantic album, this is a far more comprehensive overview than the many single compilations already released. Initially, there was a substantial musical dissimilarity between lead vocalist Ferry's solo work, much of it less artsy and aggressive than early Roxy songs such as "Do the Strand" and "Virginia Plain." Eventually, by the late 70s the two became less distinct. The primary difference being Ferry's tendency to radically rearrange musty pop, folk, and R&B covers between his more sensually lush, dance oriented music. Roxy Music disbanded in 1983 leaving Ferry, whose solo work comprises almost half of this package and the entire third disc, to carry the torch. Short but pertinent notes about each song, along with small reproductions of the original British picture sleeves, provide some historical background. And although all three CDs include 15 tracks, there is plenty of unused room on each for more music. Regardless, this is an essential addition to any British rock fan's collection. The compilation is nearly as classy and sophisticated as the stylish band, and its suave singer, deserves. -- Hal Horowitz

Platinum Review.......2007-05-16
Very good introduction to Bryan Ferry. However, it is missing "Everytime You Go Away".
A Superb and Classic Collection of Romantic Rock Anthems.......2006-07-20
I was a fan of Roxy Music since I first heard Avalon and More Than This. They have always been a band that people can relate to. Roxy Music is a Progressive Rock band that wore drag, with Brian Eno beginning in this Band as its Keyboardist, and the fact that with Sax and great Rock and Roll guitar as well as drum and bass, that makes Roxy Music into a true anthem band of British Rock fron the 1970s.
Bryan Ferry is a great Crooner, and he even in drag is a Glam Rock Sinatra, when David Bowie has no one ever who can stand at his level from before or after, as a performer, as they BROKE THE MOLD when he was created as a performer. Bryan and Roxy Music are definatly Bowie types in performing, with the use of Keyboards and Moorg Synth sounds as well as Sax and Rock Guitar, giving them such a classic style of the time that could rival Bowie, but of course no one could top Bowie.
My favorate songs from the time from 1972 to 1975 are Street Life and Pajamarama as well as Love is The Drug plus Virginia Plain and Both Ends Burning from Roxy itself as a Band, when Smoke Gets in Your Eyes and The In Crowd by Bryan solo are amazing, but his version of Dylan's Hard Rains Gonna Fall is the top favorate for me from that period for Bryan, when my least favorate from that era in anything is Do The Strand. Lets Stick Together was released in 1975, and I totally recomend the whole album and not just the selections on this Collection. In dealing with 1975 to 1985 I recomend Dance Away and Angel Eyes as well as Sign of the Times from Bryan's Bride Stripped Bare album. Avalon is a true classic but Flesh + Blood has songs that are not too clamorous for me, so the songs from that album on the Collection exept Same old Sceene I do not recomend. Avalon and Boys and Girls are classics in full status, while Is Your Love Strong Enough is a song that should have been on Boys and Girls reissued or Bete Noire which was as amazing.
In closing this is a true classic in a Collection.
Poxy Muzak.......2005-10-29
I've always liked Bryan Ferret. As far as a rock singer goes, he has great hair. But this compilation is just like all the rest only it has more stuff on it. What really irks me though is the best stuff was left off. Songs like "Bitters End" where Andy McBride's saxophone sounds like a fart on an empty subway platform. Now that's rock & roll. This I believe. And where is "Take me To The River (and chuck me in)"? All in all, a wonderful cd set, but I should have bought something else with the money, like the new Brian Ferret compilation.
Glammy-Silky- Sexiness on a Cloud.......2005-01-14
Imagine just coming from a really fabulous party, then diving into a pool of the smoothest, velvety chocolate... enough said.
Kat NY,NY
Very Good Compilation.......2004-12-30
I love the early Roxy Stuff, and the Later Bryan Ferry Stuff. It hardly seems like the same perosn when you hear the full progression of Ferry from Glam rockin Eno-Ite to the mellow crooner he has become. I will say he is still cool and fun to listen to in any era of his music. The only oddity is the glaring ommision of "Out of the Blue" and "In Every Dream Home a Heartache". Oh well, I have those in other form as well. It's a great Bryan Ferry/Roxy Music starter kit.

Best Branigan compilation from the Northern Hemisphere!!.......2007-03-28
The late Laura Branigan had a remarkably worldwide fan base, with several greatest hits albums in countries ranging from South Korea, Brazil, Japan, Germany, and 2 in South Africa (and that was before the U.S. even had one!).
This PLATINUM COLLECTION is the best new compilation of her work since her death in 2004. While there are a few tracks that are glaringly absent (e.g., "Cry Wolf", "Hold Me", "Forever Young", singles from 1993's OVER MY HEART album, etc.), it is a good selection of her work. Better yet, these tracks are remastered!
Again, this is not a perfect selection (the ones from South Africa had the best selections), this album is the best one in years, certainly better than the BEST OF BRANIGAN that was released in the U.S. in 1995.
If you must limit yourself to one Branigan album and you do not want shell out the money for the ones from South Africa, the PLATINUM COLLECTION from the U.K. is your best choice!
Tell Laura I Love Her.......2007-02-14
To me, no collection could ever be complete without including every track Laura ever recorded. Hit or not, that is only spectulation by our obsession with the cencors of what is hot or not. Radio does not play the whole impact of what the public really enjoys listening to. Key words, "enjoys listening to, not what we are forced to hear on radio. Laura shall live on in the musical soundtrack of our lives.
Great Album!.......2007-01-11
Great compliment of songs and definitely a collector's dream. Can't recommend it any higher!!!
Good collection of a great singer's hits and album tracks........2006-12-19
Laura Branigan, a New York singer with a big, beautiful voice and dark sultry looks, tore up the charts in the early to mid 80s with a mix of europop style dance hits and soft rock ballads. Hindered by bad management, a label that though supportive, didn't know exactly what niche to market her to, and personal drama (divorce, drugs, lawsuits), her platinum status days didn't last, and she was all too soon forgotten. A pity, because Branigan was a top notch vocalist, with emotional range, phrasing and delivery that blow away all the screaming "divas" of today.
This Rhino produced compilation of hits and stand-out album tracks is perhaps the best selection of her work to date: it sounds great and offers some interesting song choices besides the chart hits (all here, for the most part). Wisely, the focus seems to be on the earlier years, when the lovely Branigan was at her peak. The inclusion of Satisfaction (a single in Germany) is a nice touch, although I'm puzzled by the omission of Maybe Tonight (a UK and Germany single which even has a video). A fine collection at any rate, and perhaps we'll even see the complete Self Control album remastered by Rhino with bonus tracks!
THE Laura Branigan hits collection! .......2006-09-25
Few people remember Laura Branigan's first hit single, "All Night With Me." It reached #60 a few months before the career-establishing megasmash "Gloria" hit the airwaves and shot to #2. That first hit has been so forgotten, in fact, that both Branigan's U.S. hits collections ("The Best of Branigan" and "Essentials") completely ignore the tune. Happily, this UK compilation presents the song, along with most of Branigan's other Hot 100 entries. "All Night With Me" is a great record, and it's a real treat that it has finally been remastered and presented on a hits CD.
With that said, this is THE Laura Branigan collection to own. The hits everyone knows are here ("Gloria," "Solitaire" and "Self Control"), along with smaller but solid hits like "The Lucky One," "Power of Love" and "Spanish Eddie." And of course, Branigan's #1 smash "How Am I Supposed To Live Without You" from 1983 is here. And all these hits sound crisp and layered with the superb mastering job provided by Heathmans Studios.
There are a few head-scratchers, of course. Where is the hit "Hold Me"? Granted, it hit low in the Hot 100, but it was a hit and is a sexy, vibrant record. Instead of this song, or the single "Cry Wolf," listeners get two rather negligible ballads ("If You Loved Me" and "Lovin' You Baby") from Branigan's 1982 debut album and "Silent Partners," an okay song from Branigan's 1984 album. These tracks' inclusion is extra annoying, because all the material from Branigan's splendid and thoughtful 1993 "Over My Head" album is ignored.
Still, this is the very best Laura Branigan hits collection that has ever been available. The lovely, late vocalist sounds astonishing on every song, especially "Solitaire" (what a range!!!). Let's hope that someday a record label (read: Rhino) will make a two-CD collection of her work that includes all the hits, rare tracks and choice album tracks, like "Shadow of Love," one of Branigan's best recorded performaces.

ALMOST...Platinum.......2007-03-25
Of course you can never please EVERYBODY with "best of" collections.
And this IS a darn good collection. HOWEVER,...
It would have been perfection to have included the following songs:
1) I'M A LITTE BIT LONESOME
2) I DON'T WANNA MAKE LOVE (with anyone else but you)
(if this song does'nt get you in "the mood" ..you're clinically dead)
3) THE ROOM AT THE TOP OF THE STAIRS (ditto)
This would have made it KILLER Platinum! But I give credit for at least finally putting more of Eddie's great songs out there on CD. It's about time. Now a double- CD GOLD collection would be nice too!
(I know,..we're just never satisfied!)
!
Eddie Rabbitt at his best.......2007-03-02
I've been waiting quite a while for a compilation of Eddie Rabbitt songs to come along. Most of what has been out there has been his "crossover" music, and those of us with true Rabbitt ears knows that the crossover songs are his weakest. This is a great collection of his best and a long time in coming. It's recorded well too. The one song I'm sorry isn't on here? "Long Gone". But all in all they caught all the others, and some are a bit obscure so it's great they included them. A must for any Eddie Rabbitt fan!
Best Eddie Rabbitt compilation currently available.......2006-12-22
I bought this CD recently and I must say that I'm quite pleased with it. Granted there are a few major hits missing like "Step By Step", "You And I" (duet with Crystal Gayle) and "Someone Could Lose A Heart Tonight" but it's probably the most comprehensive Eddie Rabbit "best of" compilation available in the market at the moment and the sound quality is quite good too. Rabbitt recorded under various labels and until someone manages to untangle all the contractual issues, don't expect to find a complete Eddie Rabbitt hits compilation anytime soon! By the way this CD is issued by Rhino in collaboration with Warner Music U.K. Ltd.
Great collection, but a great song is missing!.......2006-12-05
"Step by step" is my favorite Eddie Rabbitt's song. When I was a young boy I used to sing it to my myself every time I was about to date a "too beautiful to touch" girl. Some times I succeeded, thanks to Rabbitt's encouraging lyrics. So I regret Platimun Collection lacking it. But, however, it's a very good choice.

Great covers that don't get stale.......2004-04-11
I agree with the UB40 purists that UB40's covers are not as fundamental as Signing Off etc., but I was surprised at how this triple album boxed set did not fade easily. I copied the lot to my Mac Powerbook for a ten day working trip to Venezuela and have played the entire set 10 times over! That says a lot as I have plenty of other choices on the hard drive. My favorites are Holly Holy, Guilty, My Best Girl, Please don't Make me Cry, The Way you do thye things you do, The train is coming, Blood and Fire and Stay a little bit longer. Why? Well the driving beat on a good pair of headphones, the rythyms, the sheer variety from ballad to reggae pop, 8 Brummies all doing their thing, taking turns to shine.
UB40 is an enigma, a piece of Jamaica that is not entirely Jamaican, a true slice of cosmopiltan Birmingham. 25 years and still going strong - how many 8 piece bands can boast that?

Album Description
UK pressing is packaged in a slip case. The compilation features the cream of the material the star recorded between 1969 and 1987. David Bowie remains impossible to pigeonhole - first there was Ziggy Stardust, Aladdin Sane, a White Soul Boy and a Thin White Duke. He went on to invent synth-pop with Tony Visconti and Brian Eno and then disappeared behind the make-up of Pierrot when the New Romantics mixed all of his eras together. And then, he became a truly global megastar in the 80s. This collection contains four UK No. 1s, 15 Top 10, six Top 20 and 14 Top 75 hits; 338 weeks of UK chart history. But David Bowie could never be contained by statistics alone: any collection that contains Starman, The Jean Genie, Fame, "Heroes", Sound and Vision, Ashes To Ashes, Under Pressure and Let's Dance spells it plainly - this is a collection of some of the greatest and best-known music of the 20th Century by one of its very finest performers. 57 tracks in total. EMI. 2005.

Edited versions make for a botched oppurtunity.......2007-01-12
For the casual Bowie fan this is a pretty good and pretty thorough collection, spreading across the breadth of what is widely considered his classic years, and including most of his well known songs, as well as a hit and miss selection of various rarities and semi-rarities. But is the song selection here as good as it could be? Is it listenable all the way through? Does it contain any bad songs? And what purpose does it serve in a world that already contains several Bowie compilations?
The real reason to consider this compilation is for the third disc, as the other two are available separately. Bowie's 80's period (discounting Scary Monsters)is the one in most need of a compilation cd as it was his weakest era. Let's Dance, Tonight, and Never Let Me Down are really of interest only for their singles and frankly not worth buying to anyone but a diehard. A compilation that simply rounded up the singles from these three albums would nicely fill a gap in Bowie's catalogue. Does disc 3 of the platinum collection fit the bill? Not quite. For one thing, the superb song "Never Let Me Down", from the mostly bad album of the same name, is inexplicably ommitted in favor of dreck such as "Underground" from the Labyrinth movie, and various other movie soundtrack songs that, while handy to get in one place like this, are generally from very decent soundtracks that would be worth having on their own. Futhermore in the effort to cram as many songs, including various sundry rarities, on here as possible, the compiliers have resorted to inferior edited versions of some key songs. Thank God they at least seem to have chosen the soundtrack version of Cat People (judging by the amazon song sample) instead of the absolutely wretched remake that mars the "Let's Dance" album. [Incidently, the Cat People remake is the very thing thing that pushes Let's Dance from a mediocre album to a bad one in my book, knocking it off my to-buy list and making this compilation tempting in the first place because of its inclusion of the 3 excellent Let's Dance singles].
However, despite what appears to be the inclusion of the original version of Cat People, they have chopped off two minutes of the song, a butchery job which borders on blasphemy! I really wonder why compilers think that this sort of thing is acceptable these days. Arbirarily cutting off minutes this way just to save space shows a real lack of respect for a recorded song as a performance and a peice of art. Can anyone imagine "Stairway to Heaven" or "I am the Walrus" or "Hey Jude" with two minutes lopped off? Would they be just as good? No? Then why do it here? The soundtrack version of "Cat People" is one of Bowie's very finest vocal performances and is somewhat hard to find on a Bowie cd in its original 6 minute plus version. If the idea was to include some genuinely worthwhile rarities from this era, an unedited "Cat People" should have been top of the list. But instead they amputate two whole minutes. I'm sure apologists for this kind of mutilation have their reasons. Perhaps someone will say this edit was actually some obscure 7 inch single version and not a new edit made specifically for this compilation. Regardless of such irrelvencies, everyone knows the definitive version of "Cat People" is the 6 minute plus version, so why not include it? If space was the only reason, I would gladly get rid of boring rarity-for-rarity's-sake crud like "Drowned" and "Alabama Song" that drag down the momentum of this cd anyway, to get back those 2 minutes of one of my all time favorite Bowie songs.
Disc 2 has a similar problem in the severely edited version of "Young Americans". Some songs simply need to be heard in full. These two are prime examples. As a result it's hard to reccomend this album and I consider it a botched oppurtunity to make sense of Bowie's 80's output.
Finally, as the Best of David Bowie 1969-1974 and 1974-1979 respectivly, are identical to disc one and two of this set, it seems to be adding insult to injury not to make disc 3 available separately as well---perhaps they thought it wouldn't sell on its own. Instead, those who own the first two discs already in the form of the earlier collections would be forced to duplicate them if they simply wanted the third disc as a representation of bowie's 80's period.
Though I might make this compilation sound pretty bad, it does enough things right to make itself tempting (such as collecting together some essential singles and rarities, especially from the shaky 80's period) and, in its favor, it actually could have been much worse. At the very least the compilers should be lauded for having the good taste not to include that horrendous monstrosity of a cover of "Dancing in the Street" Bowie did with Mick Jagger in the early 80's. I consider that abomination to be Bowie's absolute career low point and hands down THE worst song he's ever recorded bar none (yes I have heard the entire Deram Anthology including the infamous "Laughing Gnome", Dancing in the Street is worse). I cannot even listen to Dancing in the Street all the way through without feeling the overwhelming urge to press skip and actually got rid of the otherwise excellent "Singles Collection 1969-1993" simply because I was tired of having to get up and skip that godawful song every time I listened to it. So, simply by not including "Dancing in the Street", this collection earns an extra star from me, bringing it up from a 2 to a 3. And I truly hope this precedent becomes a trend for all future retrospective Bowie compilations.
To end on a more positive note, disc one of this album is a terrific encapsulation of bowie's glam period. It includes great rarities such as "Velvet Goldmine" and the almost impossible to find Bowie version of "All the Young Dudes", which is almost enough on it's own to make it worth buying, even if it does include a bit too much from Aladdin Sane. Fortunately, it is available separately as "The Best of David Bowie 1969-1974".
exhaustive yet essential.......2006-04-14
The Platinum Collection collects 58 of Bowie's most beloved recordings
Pluses:
- everything is remastered
- most of Bowie's essential hits are here
- a few rarities that are only available on the very expensive "Sound And Vision" box
- unlike "Sound And Vision", contains the hits as well
Minuses:
- I am fine with radio edits sometimes, because some are needed to save space, but... why do we get the heavily edited "Heroes" (one of Bowie's finest hours) yet 7 minutes of "John I'm Only Dancing Again", which is one of the worst disco forays ever.
- the idea that 1987 was the end of Bowie's career is kinda presented here. Any true Bowie fan knows that the past dozen or so years have been more fruitful and full of highlights than the 1980's were
- slightly overpriced considering the import is almost half the price as the US version
If you don't already have a huge Bowie collection, this one collects many of the greats for the first 20 years. However, don't think that this is all you need... check out his latter albums, such as "Reality", "Hours", "Heathen", "Outside", "Earthling" and "Black Tie White Noise", all of these albums are wonderful and Bowie's had a silent renaissance.
One for completists.......2006-03-12
Previously issued as three separate discs, this set covers Bowie's career through 1987. This ignores the last 20 years, in which Bowie released eight albums.
If you're a casual fan, the 2-disc "Best of Bowie" is a better bet. It includes all the hits and features selections from the later albums such as "Tin Machine", "Outside", and "Hours".
The four disc box set "Sound and Vision" covers the whole of Bowie's career (so far) but leaves off "Fame" and "Let's Dance", while including two or three rarities.
This leaves "The Platinum Collection" squarely in the middle. All the hits are here, although many of them are radio edits, which may be jarring if you're used to the full-length cuts. (The edit on "Young Americans" is particularly weird, and to my knowledge has never appeared on CD before.)
For the completist, this set includes a handful of rarities, some of which are unavailable elsewhere ("John, I'm Only Dancing Again 1975," for example).
This may be an ideal one-stop solution for a casual fan, if you're not interested in the last 20 years. However, the 2-disc "Best of Bowie" is still a better choice, because it's more comprehensive and the full-length edits are all there.
The Best Bowie Collection Yet.......2006-03-01
Up until the 3 disc Platinum Collection, there hasn't really been a great overview of Bowie's prime years (1969-1987). Previous collections such as "Best of Bowie" and "Singles Collection" were only 2 discs and there seemed to be too many great songs missing. Even at 3 discs, some of my personal favorite tracks such as "Moonage Daydream" and "Watch That Man" are missing. But when you look at the track list on this Platinum Collection, it's hard to think of a better Bowie collection than this. All of the essential classics, radio hits, and even great album tracks are here. There are even a few surprises like "Sorrow" and "Underground" which are often overlooked on Bowie compilations. Most of the tracks on disc 3 and some on disc 2 are single versions, but these are probably the same versions that you hear on the radio and are necessary in order to fit all of the tracks onto one disc. From "Space Oddity" to "Let's Dance," this is some of the best music of the last quarter century and David Bowie remains one of the greatest influences in the industry. To hear why, this is the one Bowie collection to get. Highly recommended.

Mireille Matthieu Platinum Collection.......2007-07-04
If you are a fan of Mireille Matthieu then this is an essential cornerstone CD collection of 60 songs that showcases the incredible talent and voice of this incredible French singing star. I have to confess that I do not understand French but, in a way, that is an advantage because it allows me to concentrate and listen to the tones and expressions of her voice - which are absolutely superb and out of this world. Even if you are not a Mireille Matthieu fan but you like to listen to fine singers, I strongly recommend that you buy this CD collection and listen for yourself - you will be pleased that you did.

Perfect.......2007-02-16
This Atlas is perfect for anyone studying or wanting to know more
about the Bible geography and history and how they relate.
Especially in these times. Seeing pictures and maps truly make
the stories of Bible people and places come alive.
Beware of copy protection on this set.......2007-01-30
If you intend to listen to this CD set on your computer or portable device, be aware that this set contains one of those insidious copy protection schemes that prevent normal listening unless you install special software, and also only allows you to save the tracks in special MS proprietary formats. No, thanks.
While Amazon does mention it, this information is buried under the header "Format: Enhanced". I would never have come up with an idea of calling it an "enhancement". I think Amazon should change their terminology to prevent such misunderstandings.
I am returning the set.
Unforgettable Mirreille.......2007-01-10
All songs on these CDs are evergreen. I recommand this Platinum Collection specially for people, which enjoy in too fine performance of Mireille. Tender music - beautiful companion on travelling by car.

Definitive Blancmange.......2007-07-07
I used to own the previous "Best Of Blancmange" which is a good compilation, however this release exceeds it in terms of song selection and sound quality. This version is remastered and the sound is crisp and clear just like other titles from the same series. Unfortunately, Blancmange was one of those underrated new wave band of the 80s; yet it is still essential to people who love this kind of music from this era. The CD is packed with their best songs such as 'Living On The Ceiling", "Waves", "Blind Vision", "Don't Tell Me" and the 1984 remake of Abba's "The Day Before You Came" presented here in full lenght album version.
Last but not least, if you like Depeche Mode, Erasure, Duran Duran, Alphaville, A-ha... the list is long, you won't be disappointed with this CD. In addition, the price is so appealing! A must.
Snap, Crackle and Synth Pop! A Retro Treat for the Ears........2007-01-16
If you like stuff like Depeche Mode, Thompson Twins, Erasure, Naked Eyes, Human League and Talk Talk than you will enjoy this great forgotten band too. They obviously weren't the biggest hitmakers of the 80s, but their tunes are pretty infectous and have aged pretty darn well. This complilations has all of the singles and more. Admittingly, a few tracks are skippable, but considering how rare their studio albums are to find, I'm willing to bump my review of this album up to five stars! Plus, the re-mastering job will knock your socks off. Blancmange has never sounded better!
