3 out of 5 stars It's okay........2006-01-24

This is emo-punk, plain and simple. Not every song sounds the same, but some do. For as mega-young as the band members are, they do a pretty good job. They remind me of a young Blink 182, they could be on the verge of something big. Which I'm sure Victory is hoping for.

Standout tracks are: "Taking It All back" and "Understanding." All and all this is one of those cd's you can play on a hot summer day just hanging out with your friends.

1 out of 5 stars Garbage.......2005-06-04

Every song sounds the same. thats it. thats all there is to it. They all have the same melody, same pitch, same chorus structure and same verse structure. The only thing that varies are the lyrics (but man, not by much). You have no taste in music if you find this cd entertaining, and (if they haven't already), I suggest this band breaks up ASAP. Further proof that you need NO TALENT to become a star in the dime-a-dozen world of emo-pop-punk.

5 out of 5 stars oh so good.......2005-01-31

Don't listen to "nate the emotional retard" 2 reviews below me, Never Be Taken Alive is an AWESOME CD. If you own The Starting Line's "Say It Like You Mean It", then you'll know what I'm talking about when I say it's one of those albums you can listen to constantly w/o ever getting bored. Its basically Emo-punk, kinda like RUFiO, A New Found Glory and Midtown, but the difference in Count The Stars is that the lead singer's pitch is easily noticed. When you hear a "count the stars" song, you know it's by them and no one else. My favorites would have to be "pictures" and "brand new skin", but all the songs are awesome. I mean, if it's good enough for me to sit here and write a review, I know others will like it too. Peace easy my fellow emo-punk brethren...

5 out of 5 stars !! AWESOME CD !!.......2004-10-25

This CD is sooo awesome!!! I recommend it to anyone and everyone who likes music!!! If you like this CD, check out Motion City Soundtrack and Punchline...those are two more amazing bands!!!

1 out of 5 stars VERY Disapointing.......2004-07-14

I bought this CD with high expectations. I thought it would be an above average punk-emo album with catchy tunes that I would want to hear more than once. After listening to it I felt like crying. The lyrics are uninspired and amature and the lead singer's voice is horrible. The one bright spot of this album is the song "Taking it all Back". As far as I can see there's only 2 reasons to buy this CD: 1)to hear "Taking it all Back", and 2)to get a very expensive coaster for your coffee table. You're better off spending your money on one of the many bands of this genre that have a little more talent and potential like Matchbook Romance, Spitalfield, Rufio etc.

          Customer Reviews:

          5 out of 5 stars Raw Energy.......2004-12-27

They were young, raw, powerful and full of energy. They were The Animals. The year was 1963, and it was the humble beginnings of the British invasion. The Beatles, already huge in England were still a year away from invading America. Waiting in the wings, were the Rolling Stones, the Kinks and many, many others.
This cd is is divided into two seperate shows. The first 7 tracks are from a show from the Crawdaddy Club recorded on March 30, 1963. The influence that American blues musicians had on the band is clearly evident, as the boys tear through numbers by Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, and John Lee Hooker. After all, these guys, like so many other blues giants were their heros.
The second half of the cd is just as impressive. This show was recorded at The Club A Go-Go in Newcastle, England on December 30 1963. Joining the boys onstage was the one and only Sonny Boy Williamson II. Sonny Boy was touring Europe at the time as part of the American Folk and Blues Festival. ( You have to check those out on DVD. Simply amazing.) Sonny Boy is amazing at this show as his raw style mixes perfectly with The Animals.
After the last song on the cd, Eric Burdon thanks the crowd for comming to the show and supporting the band. He tells the people to "come back and see Sonny Boy again while he's still in town, because he's getting on in years". I had to laugh at that a little, because look who's getting on in years now!!
