There are more expansive celebrations of the sublimely harmonic country, pop, and rock & roll of the Everly Brothers in their prime--notably the three-disc Essential collection. And, of course, there are plenty of severely pruned best-of sets. But this 16-song set is a solid option for those looking for the early Everly hits--"Bye Bye Love," "Wake Up Little Susie," "Bird Dog," and "Take a Message to Mary" foremost on the list. The CD clocks in at under 38 minutes, but you won't find yourself checking your watch when you listen to rock & roll's unsurpassed brothers in harmony. --Steven Stolder

This CD doesn't do justice to this great duo.......2001-01-28

The Everly Brothers is my favorite duo of all time. I have seen tham in concert and they are still absolutely marvelous. My favorite song by them is "Cathy's Clown." It is not on this CD. Neither is "Crying in the Rain" nor is "Lucille." There are still great songs that make this CD worthwhile including classics such as "Bye Bye Love," "Wake Up Little Susie," "Let It Be Me," etc. However, a 16 song collection should have a better selection. I recommend you buy another CD that does the Everly Brothers more justice.

Their sound is still beautiful.......1999-09-01

This CD features the very sweet and beautiful "All I Have To Do Is Dream", which I would call the highlight of the compilation. The other two ballads I love are "Devoted To You" and "Let It Be Me". "Poor Jenny" is a great song, too. This is a very energetic, entertaining CD.
