hate mix tapes but I'm a big fan of wc and has been since his low profile dsays in 89 I bought this just to hear his crazy flow and yes dub comes hard hitting letting you know he's still the killer and the guy these girls don't wanna bring around your parents I love how he rapped over nas' track grimy making it even grimier and the trick daddy beat man dub took that track and made it insane. can't wait for his new album guilty by association check out crazty toons mix tape dub does 6 songs on there.

I was a little disappointed when I first got this cd because the songs are 1.5-3 minutes long and they were so good that I wanted them to be complete songs. Make sure to listen to this cd straight through because it is in mix-tape format. Once I did that, this album is unreal and the beats are amazing. Just put it on and let it play. There are a ton of remixes and WC can make any song sound good. Highly recommended if you like WC and West Coast Rap.

One of the best releases by a newcomer that I have ever heard. Rockin / Smockin BLUES at it's finest. Great originals, great vocals and awesome guitar playing with many memorable solos. No weak moments. A must have blues CD for any BLUES fan.

I once saw Jeff live in Enfield CT and I've been a fan ever since. I have a few hundred CDs and his are in my top 10. If you like guitars and smokin' blues, you will not be disappointed. Excellent vocals and a well thought out album. Play it and be prepared to buy'em all. You won't be able to help yourself. Wow! As a matter of fact, I'm off to put one in the old CD player right now

It's hard not to compare modern bluesmen to SRV. It's obvious that Jeff has listened closely to SRV's technique. I'm from RI and I saw him perform in Providence about 6 or 7 years ago. He was incredible live! I bought his CD called "Fat Cigars" at that show. (I assume this is out of print) At first, I didn't like Jeff's vocals but they really did grow on me. Jeff has a very laid back smooth vocal delivery that fits nicely with the guitar grooves he plays. I highly recommend this CD to blues lovers!! Also check out a young man named Ricky Valente if you can find any of his CD's.

First heard Jeff Pitchell when he opened for BB King and I was impressed. Since then I have been following his carreer with intrest. This disk marks his premeir on the national blues scene and contains many of his great songs if you are a fan or Texas style blues you need to check this disk out. Jeff has a great style and energy in his playing that surpasses most of the "known" names in blues. Several songs stand out Whiskey River a blues cover of a Willie Nelson song he has James Cotton blowing a harp that sounds like a train wistle and a Bo Diddley beat behind the song. Magic Eyes is also very good and you can hear a definate Stevie Ray influnce coming though. His rendition of Aint Nobodys Business is so dilberately slow that is has a cool grove. Most of the songs jump though. If you like good rockin blues you need to check this CD out. This guy is an up and coming blues god. If the people a pyramid record would help promote him a little then he would soar on the blues scene. BTW the disk did premier at #7 on the billboard blues chart not bad for his first national release.

    of all the cd's i bought in 1998, this lockjaw set is the best. it's incredible. i've never heard such a heavy-sounding saxophone. after heavy hitter, i bought five more lockjaw cd's and they're all very good. also, check out the artwork by kadir nelson on the cover.

    Don't be fooled by the low price like I was. This is my first exposure to LockJaw, and now I'm hooked. His style is a combination of Ben Webster, Coleman Hawkins and Scott Hamilton. He really swings.
