When I looked through the song list on the CD I knew that I had to have it. The songs on the album are classics and anything done by The Mormon Tabernacle Choir is great. The music is so peaceful. If you like The mormon Tabernacle Choir or just the songs on the CD I would highly recomend it.

There was much speculation that Showtime, the second release from 2003 Mercury Music Prize winner Dizzee Rascal, would find this UK garage prodigy turning his back on the Hackney estates and tightening ties with the American hip-hop fraternity. Thankfully, the album presents a Dizzee that's bolder and brassier, but no less indebted to his grimy past. It's all here--lo-tech video game production ("Stand Up Tall"), bizarre threats of violence ("Everywhere"), and frequent flashes of lunatic humor that elevate Dizzee above his garage peers. "Dreams," for example, uses a sample of Captain Sensible's 1982 hit "Happy Talk" to hilarious effect. Sober reflection remains part of the Rascal worldview too, as on "Imagine," a truly fragile wisp of synth and strings reminiscent of Aphex Twin's ambient moments. But balance is crucial, and that's provided by the stone-cold "playa" anthem "Girls," performed alongside curiously high-pitched Dizzee affiliate Marga Man. --Louis Pattison
Album Description
The follow-up to last year's "Boy In Da Corner" is a bigger sounding album; a volcanic ride of crazy wordplay, ghetto techno, and bottom heavy bass. The first single, "Stand Up Tall", is a hyperactive, video game bounce with a hyper catchy chorus. The follow-up single, "Dream" is a re-make of Captain Sensible's (The Damned) 1982 chart hit, "Happy Talk". Includes bonus DVD with three videos and a short film.

If ur new 2 grime-.......2006-05-02
This is a revew for people in the U.S. (or anywhere else) who are new to grime or who have the album and want to get their hands on some similer stuff.
Grime is a music that stemed from garage, a combanation of dancehall, drum n bass, hip-hop and bashment but it has it's own feel. It's a very underground scene that relies mostly on raves, pirate radio and white label releases.
If you liked this album or "Boy in da corner" then you should check out the following classic garage and grime tracks and albums: (you will have to download most of the individual tracks listed)

A new type of Hip hop.......2006-01-08
If you get this album thinking your going to hear rap somewhat like Slick Rick's then you are very far from it. Dizzee is bringing to us american hip hop heads Grime and I'm all for it. The Grime production is sick and very creative something new that will give you a break from the bubblegum rap that's being released over here right now. These aren't your average beats and if your wondering yes this is somethin that will knock in your sytem. To really get use to Dizzee It's probably a good idea to get his first album Boy in da corner or go on ebay and get the stuff you can't get on Amazon. For a lot of people it will take time before you get every word of what Dizzee says due to his accent but when you finally understand you will begin to respect his lyrical talent and his potential to be a great lyricist. Not everyone is going to be able to get with Grime and if you can't then something is wrong because this is some of the hottest production I've heard this year. Straight play threw album and I can't wait till his next release.
The Grime will grow on you!.......2005-09-27
If you were coming here looking for a rap album turn around right now unless you have an open mind when it comes to music. Dizzee makes what they call Grime music over their across the pond. It is an interesting amalgam of rap, garage, & house. Lyrically Dizzee is a trip. He has a lot to say and the fact that he can flow to these beats is really impressive. His accent adds that extra touch to his songs that make them sound good. He addresses a lot of topics ranging from partying to growing up in the hood's in London (the LD as he calls it). While he is rapping, his beats are like nothing you have heard over here, unless you are a major techno fan. They definitely have the electronic edge to them. While I enjoy the sounds I find it hard to listen to at times because they are so sporadic and jumpy. There are the mellow tracks which are a nice break but overall this album is a straight up party from start to finish so if you are wanted to just chill throw something else on, but if you want to get wild then let Dizzee Rascal pump out of your speakers!
He Does It Again!!!Amazing!!!.......2005-08-26
After listening to it several times through on a car ride, I can honostly say that this is one of the best rap albums I have ever listened to. Grime is soon becoming my favorite style. His lyrics actually mean something too. They aren't just the "typical" lyrics about sex, women, and money with no real meaning behind them. All his songs seem to have some sort of meaning to them too. "Stand Up Tall" is probably my favorite song from him from both albums.
I can't wait til he comes out with another album. He seems to be sticking to his roots, so I can expect another great album coming.
Proud To British.......2005-08-13
The pure britishness of this album makes me proud to come from England. Dizzee comes out of the UK grime scene leaving artists like Kano and Crazy Titch only hoping to one day and maybe with their potential be as good as Dizzee. With The UK grime scene exploding now Dizzee is still on top and this album just shows why he has the edge.
Thank You Dizzee. I salute you!

Strong Rebound.......2007-02-21
This was a CD replacement for my cassette. I also have the albums prior to this one ("That Total Age" & "Belief"). "That Total Age" was a very good industrial album, upbeat strong tracks throughout. "Belief" was a bit of a disappointment. The core sound was still there, but something was missing. I'm not one for slow tracks, & this album had more than its fair share. "Showtime" rebounds to Nitzer Ebb of old. The 1st track, "Getting Closer," sets the pace. if you are a fan of industrial / industrial dance, I recommend "Showtime."
there are three reasons to buy this album.......2006-07-22
and they are: 1) getting closer, 2) lightning man, and 3) fun to be had.
nitzer ebb was in the unfortunate spot of being 'industrial' before industrial really took off. in fact, i dare say trent reznor owes a nod or two to nitzer ebb. or nine or ten.
'showtime,' as others have mentioned, really is nitzer ebb's most accessible and commercial album -- and that's not a slight. the success of the three tracks mentioned above were the result of nitzer ebb building on the successes of their earlier singles, 'control, i'm here,' 'hearts and minds,' and the dance floor staple, 'join in the chant.' with 'showtime,' and particularly the three singles (much of the rest of the album really *is* filler) nitzer ebb firmly meshed industrial and dance. it wasn't aggressive other industrial bands, nor was it light enough to be anything *other* than industrial. the opener, 'getting closer' is an all out frontal assault on the senses. the stuttering baseline at the beginning builds the tension before the devouring everything in it's way. it's like a train that starts off slowly, building momentum, before chugging down the tracks. it's a brilliant track, and one that really, really gets the adrenaline pumping.
'lightning man' is an interesting song. if you have a chance to get the 'industry vs. the ebb' mix, do so. it's a more energetic version with one of the most killer synth lines you've ever heard.
'fun to be had,' rounds out the triumverate. it's a deceptive track. it's starts off rather benignly with it's bubbling bass line, and slightly sarcastic vocal (at least in tone). when the song finally does erupt, it's classic nitzer ebb:: adrenaline inducing, pulsating, mesmorizing.
it's amazing nitzer ebb didn't absolutely RULE the dance floors in the late 80s. they really should have. even an opening slot for depeche mode on the violator didn't crack them into the mainstream. fortunately, we still have their music to listen to. even if you're not a 'fan' of the 'industrial' music, you'll most likely find 'showtime' irresistable.
My favorite Nitzer Ebb.......2006-03-20
Maybe it's just the nostalgia factor at play, but I love this album!!! There are so few weak tracks and the tracks all work together really well as a whole. I am of course still in love with "Lightning Man", a full fifteen years after seeing Nitzer Ebb do it live and being blown away by that particular song.
If you're a fan of older industrial music, this album must be part of your collection. It's the law.
An instant classic.......2006-01-26
If you want down and dirty 'eine zwei drei vier' industrial, then this may not be the best album to buy.
I love this album. This is Nitzer Ebb in the beginning of thier 'Hey let's sell some records' phase.
Ebb goes commercial.......2005-12-19
Every Ebb fan is going to want to have this, fine. And it's a good add into the collection. BUT They took their uncut unsophisticated AWESOME HARD militant sound and turned it into clubby industrial punk. Enjoy with stale smoke and boredom in goth clubs.

These Guys Are The Best.......2001-09-03
As always, the Statlers have produced a beautiful, inspirational and an album that says what these men stand for - wholesomeness, love, talent and greatest of all Christianity. Each album just gets better and better. They should be so proud to be able to sing about what they believe in and have their songs so widely appreciated. Kudos to all four - the Statlers are the BEST.
Statlers Music Is Awesome.......2001-06-29
The Statlers Do another Great Cd and it is a Must for all Statler Fans, the songs are all great and the talents of Harold and don and phil and jimmy shine. I love the music and it is pure Statler Music. Can't wait for the Next Cd
A good album with good songs, but not their best........2001-06-27
The Statler Brother's latest album is not one for the normal Statler fan to leave sitting on the shelves. It is a great album with a good selection of songs. Only one problem, though. There are hardly any of the very unique songs that have made the Statlers famous. Songs that echo the style and lyrics of "Do You Remember These," "Chet, You're the Reason," "Maple Street Memories," and "Child of the Fifties." There are just mainly your typical, average country love songs or cheating songs and of course, the traditional gospel songs that appear on every Statler album. Not that that's bad, however. The Statlers of course always give a special delivery to every song that they record. Overall, this is still a fabulous country album, but as far as the Statlers are concerned it's missing some of that special, nostalgic-like songwriting that has made them famous.
The Statler Brothers Rule!.......2001-06-10
The music on this CD is excellent! It shows what talented writers they are!! Don's writing does not get the recognition that he so deserves! Don is an excellent writer which this CD proves with each song! I know I sound prejudice but I promise what I'm hearing on this CD is their voices just get better and better! They are a legend and deserve all the awards they can get!! This CD IS a must for any Statler Brothers fan!! They Rule!!
The Statlers do it again..........2001-05-18
Outstanding effort from one of the founding groups of country music. Well written songs from throughout the family, to include their sons who are the group "Grandstaff". Don's vocals continue to lead the Statlers through song after song that brings back nostalgia and pleasant memories that make you want to just sit back and "listen". Jimmy's tenor, Phil's 2nd Tenor, and of course, Harold's completely sufficient bass continue to blend in traditional Statler fashion...perfectly. Outstanding tributes to the Savior, as with every album so far. A must have for any traditional country fan, much less a Statler Brothers fan. Truly merits much more publicity than it has received, but then, again, the Statlers were never in it for the money, just for the fans. This album sits on the top of my favorites! Hopefully many more to come from the Statlers.

Customer Reviews:
Showtime by J. Geils.......2006-06-20
I had this album on cassette tape back in high school. My best friend and I used "Love Stinks" as our anthem and I am sure that many others did also. I love the energy of this album. There is not a bad track on the album. It is a great party album that is FUN!!! The "Love Rap" is a great lead into "Love Stinks." It is one of the great live albums of all time. Buy this CD!
Actually, the best BOSTON has to offer.......2005-01-04
You can't go wrong with a live J. Geils Band album. These guys were born to be on stage and during their '70s halcyon days, a better live rock & boogie band could you find.
Unfortunately, "Showtime" covers live material from the band's least creative (albeit most commercial) period -- the late '70s/early '80s. Their previous live recordings -- "Full House" and "Blow Your Face Out" -- are vastly superior, but having all three live albums certainly provides fans with a great retrospective of J. Geils concerts over the years.
If you like hot, sweaty, blues-based boogie rock played with a good-time frenetic approach, J. Geils is the band for you and any of their aforementioned live albums will represent nicely. But, as I said, by virture of the more pedestrian material covered here, "Showtime" is the weakest of the band's live efforts.
Finally, not that true fans need a history/geography lesson, but J. Geils Band formed in the bars, pubs and clubs of Boston... NOT Detroit. The previous reviewer seems confused. Perhaps because Geils had a song called "Detroit Breakdown" he assumed it was were the band hailed from. They are, however, from Beantown.
Anyway, former lead singer Peter Wolf continues to make great solo CDs -- check them out, too; especially "Sleepless."
The best Detroit ever had to offer.......2004-10-29
The JGB at their hieght of the power. This and Blow your Face Out are the best of JGB to be found. Powerful, fun, exciting, entertaining. It scares me, because I was listening to them when this first came out. From Bloodshot on, I was hooked. Listen to them live and you will be too. I for one miss them creating new music. I see that Magic Dick and J. have teamed up again and are back on track with the Blues. Good to see you still playing boys. Recommend this and Blow Your Face Out to anyone who has never witenessed JGB live. They will be hooked too!
It's Showtime!!!!!!!!!!!!.......2004-09-25
The J.Geils Band's 1982 live album Showtime captures of the band at the height of its popularity.Showtime was recorded during the supporting tour for The J.Geils Band's 1981 breakthrough Freeze Frame. This probably works to the albums advantage, since the band is captured during the heigh of their popularity, and while they were still playing good. The one disadvantage of the album is that many fans know The J.Geils Band used to be a bluesier rock band, until the 1980's rolled around,so those who are looking for hits like Musta Got Lost, won't find any early material here. It's all from their years at EMI,so most selections are drawn from Sanctuary,Love Stinks and Freeze Frame with a few other songs thrown into the mix.Highlights include:Just Can't Wait,Love Stinks,I Do,the massage radio hit maybe their best known song Centerfold, and the closer Land of a Thousand Dances.A great live album, that captures an awesome band at the top of their game.
This is a true classic.......2002-03-24
Possibly the best live recording ever released. It has been a few years since I have heard it, and I can still remember it all. If the begining of this CD doesn't give you an adrenaline rush, you are not breathing.
