Album Description
Recorded Live in 1989, this CD/DVD set documents the Osborne Brothers performance in Streekermoor, Germany. Only minimal overdubs and editing were possible, however, after two years of remastering efforts by Sonny Osborne and mastering engineer John Eberle, the final product has been vastly improved over the original master tapes. At the time the Brothers were touring with Bill Monroe and the Bluegrass Boys. The liner notes describe in detail some of the experiences of touring with Monroe as well as the arduous mastering process. Live in Germany is a must-have recording for fans as it shows the Osborne Brothers at their peak and is one of the only live recordings available.

The Osbornes having fun with their music in Germany in July, 1989.......2007-04-04
A very good value, this is actually a 2-CD plus DVD set (3 discs total). Kentuckian Bobby Osborne began his music career in 1949 with The Lonesome Pine Fiddlers. Sonny Osborne joined the group a year later at age thirteen. When The Osborne Brothers played Streekermoor, Germany on July 30, 1989, they had already been members of the Grand Ole Opry for 25 years and "Rocky Top" had been the designated state song of Tennessee for five years. Thus, these legendary bluegrass musicians were ambassadors for the genre, and they were greeted in the small venue on a rainy Sunday night by an extremely friendly and appreciative crowd. Along with Bill Monroe and the Blue Grass Boys, the band had been touring throughout Europe. The Saturday night before this show they had played Switzerland, and then a 600-mile drive was required to reach this engagement in Germany. The CD jacket includes some interesting anecdotes and recollections such as Sonny's and Bobby's memories of traveling with Monroe.
At the time, the Osbornes' band also included Terry Eldredge (guitar, vocals), Terry Smith (bass), and Steve Thomas (fiddle). Thomas, Eldredge and Smith would've joined up with them about 1988, a year before this tour. From Indiana, Terry Eldredge had previously played with Lonzo & Oscar, and he was appearing on the Grand Ole Opry before he was even old enough to vote. Terry's tenure with The Osborne Brothers spanned the period from 1988-2000. He'd began with them as their bass player but switched to guitar when Terry Smith joined up. The 1981 Virginia State Fiddle Champ Steve Thomas had previously played with Del McCoury's Dixie Pals, Jim & Jesse, Lost & Found, and The Whites. He was with The Osborne Brothers from 1988-91. Besides hearing all their classic favorites like Kentucky, Listening to the Rain, Georgia Mules and Country Boys, Midnight Flyer, Tennessee Hound Dog, and Rocky Top, the show offers a number of special treats for fans. I especially enjoyed twin fiddles (Sonny and Steve) on "Your Love is Like a Flower," an 8-minute jamgrass version of "Nine Pound Hammer," Terry Smith's lead vocals on "Blue Ridge Cabin Home," and Terry Eldredge's lead vocals on three numbers (Muddy Bottom, If I Should Wander Back, Listening to the Rain).
In 2004, the audio and video for the 1989 show were brought to the attention of Sonny Osborne and the owner of the Pinecastle label, Tom Riggs. Rather than allow the show to be sold to the Bear Family label and put out without editing and mastering, Sonny and Tom decided to work with the raw products that had been recorded on a one-track tape machine and grainy video camera. Considerable work was needed to make this 2-CD and DVD set ready for marketing. While it still leaves a little to be desired, kudos to all those involved (like John Eberle who did the mastering) to make this a viable product. Charlie Cushman and Terry Smith overdubbed rhythm guitar and bass. Fiddler Glen Duncan was called in to fix a spot in "Nearer My God To Thee." You get the idea. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like much could be done with the video, but it still captures the energy and excitement of a live Osborne Brothers show. Although the liner notes only indicate that there are ten cuts on the DVD, it actually has 30 tracks with almost all of the songs included. I'm not sure why there is this discrepancy between the CD jacket and actual video. The DVD even includes some songs that aren't listed on the CDs such as Nine Pound Hammer, Say Ol' Man, My Favorite Memory, and Rock of Ages.
Sonny's liner notes state "that this live show is so typical...we always tried to have fun with our music...enjoy ourselves and one another." I understand that this is just the first of several unreleased Osborne Brothers recordings that Pinecastle will put out in the future. I certainly look forward to seeing and hearing what else they find in the archives. (Joe Ross, staff writer, Bluegrass Now)

Album Description
Germany's Helloween are undeniably one of the most influential heavy metal bands to emerge from Europe during the 1980s. By taking the harmonies and structure of classic bands like Iron Maiden and Judas Priest and infusing them with the urgency and energy of the growing thrash metal movement, Helloween created something unique and truly embody the essence of 'power metal'. The band remains a strong force today, as proven on this new double CD, Keeper Of The Seven Keys: The Legacy World Tour 2005-2006 Live on 3 Continents. Captured live in Sao Paulo, March 25th, 2006 during their latest global trek, this release is a must for any fan of fantastic Heavy Metal.
Customer Reviews:
great live album by a great band.......2007-04-04
This album sounds great, the song "the king for a 1000 years" its amazing live(yeah 13 minutes with 17 seconds) the track list is magnificent and no question why did they choose brazil, brazilian audience has a lot of energy, they make you feel there all through the album...good job helloween!
Excellent performance by an excellent band.......2007-03-01
Helloween has allways been a great melodic metal band; 1 year ago they released the "Keeper Legacy" album, in my opinion one of their best (if not their very best). This Live album couldn't come out in a better time; For those who like this band, you dont have to think about getting it. The performance was great, the sound quality simply terrific and the track selection almost perfect (excpet for some songs that you really come to miss). I had the chance to see one of the shows of this tour in Europe, and when I heard this for the first time, I almost thought that the guys were playing in front of me again. And dont miss the tracks of the past "Keeper" album performed by Andy Deris and with the sound quality of these days. A great experience for a metal fan. I seriously doubt that you can go wrong with this.
Amazing live album!!!.......2007-02-27
One of the best Live metal albums ever. Helloween are amazing, great set list, amazing sound, great vox a perfect concert!!! The energy from the crowd that this band draws is also unparalled.
Happy Happy Helloween oh oh oh oh.......2007-02-22
This album shows just how powerful Helloween sounds when they play live specially in front of an amazing crowd like Sao Paulo. If you close your eyes and listen to this record you can feel being part of the audience. One thing I dont like so much about this record, is that some songs are over 10 minutes , when they could easily could have chosen to play some shorter songs, but they decided to play mostly songs from the Keeper of the Keys albums. Best treat....I Want Out...just listen to the crowd!

Absolutely stunning digitally remixed and remastered six CD box set featuring three complete live shows by this Classic Rock band, recorded live in Germany in 1976 during their first world tour. The band, at this stage, featured Ritchie Blackmore, Ronnie James Dio, Cozy Powel and Tony Carey. Although each of the three shows (from September 25, 27 and 28) have the same setlist, the performances are electrifying and fresh. Each of the shows are two CD sets that are packaged in gatefold miniature LP sleeves with similar colorful artwork. All three two disc sets are packaged in an attractive slipcase. Featuring 'Kill The King', 'Still I'm Sad', 'Catch The Rainbow' and more. 26 tracks total (two of the shows feature nine tracks, one show features eight). VAP. 2006.

Knowledgable Blackmore fanatic, Dusseldorf 9.27.76 Best live Ritchie of this era that's been recorded .......2007-02-27
I have been a Blackmore fanatic for 30 years, have attended his brithday party, have helped with promotions, have seen all the line ups. This "Dusseldorf 9.27.76 show is smokin..Ritchie is very on. Tony Carey contributes here..he had a "sound"...he was the right guy for the Dio era Rainbow..he knew how to use the analog synths..and had an identity which many do not. Compare his great work on this disc to the sad and boring playing of David Stone on the DVD. No comparison. If you want the best perfomance of this version of Rainbow get this particulr show of the three being released. It's worth the $ Now, if only they could find Castle Donnigton with Graham Bonnet..Ritchie was demented that night.
Live in Germany 1976 _ R Cordisco.......2007-01-30
If you love Blackmore & you love Rainbow you must have this package, the sound is outstanding its "Classic" Rainbow. The packaging alone is worth it. If you liked Rainbow Live you will LOVE this. I hope somewhere there is some video of these shows lying around.
A TRUE CLASSIC GEM! .......2006-07-31
It's about time this music has seen the light of day! This line up Rainbow is by far the CLASSIC! Blackmore/Dio/Powell/Bain/Carey deliver, and deliver hard! 3 great shows, and athough pretty much the same setlist, each show has its special moments, and it is well documented you never know what kind of nght your in for with Ritchie, whether he's in a mood or not, Blackmore never seems to disappoint. Each show varies, but Ritchie simply rocks! Ronnie, whom i consider one of metals best vocalists sounds fresh and in command. what can be said of Cozy Powell that hasn't already been said, just a great rock drummer! This boxset is a MUST for any fan of Rainbow, hardcore fan or not! it took 30 years to see these shows released complete, well worth the wait...it is a shame us die-hards had to wait this long, but now we have it to enjoy forever! Rainbow rules!!! only one other thing to say, BUY THIS! a little pricey, but WELL worth it!
German Tour box set.......2006-07-30
Great concerts! All three. But one of the second two and i can't remember which one is clearly edited!
blackmore at his best.......2006-07-23
I was extatic to see this release. there are 3 shows from germany and all three are fairly different. buyer should note that material from both the 'On Stage' and 'live in 1976' albums are on these discs. that being said, the remixed shows give more depth to the music. each show is complete and unedited. it was fascinating to me to see how the band performed differently on different nights. the mood changes, variations in guitar intros and solos, and the ad-lib solo's from dio give the close listener a way to see how each artist had his own creative force during each show. this gives a very similar feel to 'live in japan' by deep purple; a 3 cd set of the different nights. i found this to be a real treat. the band sounds great. the closer 'do you close your eyes' disappointingly does not appear on the second set. bottom line:
buy this if:
1. you are a hardcore fan.
2. want to hear the shows the way they were actually played (note, 'on stage' edits/deletes parts of some songs and completely deleted stargazer; the songs are also out of order).
3. want to hear how the band played each show on a given night(note, 'live in 1976' gives the correct order but switches nights to get the 'best' versions on to one double disc).
don't buy if:
1. you are just getting into the band (my suggestion would be to try out 'live in 1976' first and go from there).
2. if you want to hear 'long live rock and roll' played live instead of stargazer (get live in 1977).
hope this is helpful, Burrn!

Album Description
BAMBOOZLED: LIVE IN GERMANY captures one of America's most respected blues bands live in Göttingen in the fall of 2005. For more than 30 years, Mississippi native Kent "Omar" Dykes has led this never-say-die trio, making them a mainstay of the Austin, Texas music scene. Dykes' roots are all over Bamboozled. The songs span his entire recording career. And whether it's with his Bo Diddley-influenced "Magic Man," the John Lee Hooker-Tribute "Boogie Man" or in his vocal lineage, which can be traced back directly to Howlin' Wolf's midnight moan - Omar Dykes is not ashamed to admit he's part of a tradition. He plays blues, boogie and rock 'n' roll, without any musical frills or cheap showmanship. One might be tempted to think he'd get bored following this straight and narrow path for more than three decades. Exactly the opposite is true. As he has grown older and dealt with personal tragedy in recent years, Dykes' music has become deeper and more intense. This we hear most clearly on two knockout slow blues numbers, "East Side Blues" and "South Congress Blues."
The title of this release - "Bamboozled" - is a song from the Howlers' last studio CD, also included in this live set. Considering the band's authenticity, you couldn't have chosen a less appropriate name. To quote Clifford Antone, "You can count on Omar for the real thing and I think that's why people keep coming back year after year, to hear the real thing." Recorded in an intimate club setting in front of a small gathering of his most loyal fans, Bamboozled documents more than just an enjoyable night of blues. It allows us to peer into the soul and to consider the impressive career of a true master.
BAMBOOZLED is also being released on DVD - available through Amazon's DVD store.
Customer Reviews:
Omar is howling!.......2007-03-31
Ya gotta love this guy. We caught him for the first time here in Dallas (actually Arlington), last October when he played at the annual SRV Memorial Ride (being as SRV was from Dallas, it's a BIG Deal here eh).
He and the Howlers blew us away.
And this CD sounds exactly how they do on stage in front of several hundred, well on their way to being drunk/rowdy, bikers. I'd heard of O&TH but never seen/heard them myself. WOW...we will definitely be looking for them again.
What's nice about this CD is that it's a really solid sample of their style and technically, the CD is really well mastered. Difficult to believe it's a "live" recording at times...a couple of the songs were a tad muddy and I chalk that up to (again) being live but overall, top notch and I still give it a 5 on content and recording. Omar's GREAT and if you're a fan of this genre, then you owe it to yourself to check them out.

Customer Reviews:
There truly is gold at the end of the Rainbow!.......2006-09-12
All right fellas, let me get this out of the way immediately: I'm a MAJOR Dio-era Rainbow fan, so I was very excited about getting this record. And I was right to be excited! This is a great release, showcasing Rainbow during their German tour of 1976 supporting "Rising". The band is on fire here, following Ritchie's lead all the way to the end of that Rainbow.
This is a superior choice from "On Stage", simply because it features a full performance of the band, as opposed to a greatly edited one. While these CD's are culled from a few of those german shows, they retain the sense consistency that you get from an actual show. The show starts with an early version of "Kill the King", a song destined to become a live staple for subsequent tours and to be included on the band's next record. While I do believe that the song had yet to develop to its full scale, I find this version to be amazing! Next comes Deep Purple's classic "Mistreated", which I must admit is a rather odd choice: I mean, Ritchie left Purple cos he didn't like the direction they were headed, and yet he chose to "steal" one of the songs that showcased that direction more blatantly! I would have thought he would pick "Burn", or something like that, but...I guess that's Ritchie...I love the guy's music, but he DEFINITELY has issues...
Rainbow's take on this song is great, but I do prefer the Purple version...I miss Ian Paice's looser playing (which is here replaced with Cozy Powell's heavy drumming...I love it too, but it's very different) and I don't think that the "guitar solo" is particularly inspired...
The next two songs redeem the affair, with "Sixteenth Century Greensleeves" and "Catch the Rainbow" being absolutely awesome, especially the latter, where Ritchie indulges in all sorts of ways. Disc 2 starts with a powerful rendition of "Man on the Silver Mountain" and continues with "Stargazer". Now, I have to be honest: I didn't originally like this song when I got "Rising". I thought it was too long and complicated. But hearing it live totally changed it for me, taking it to the next level. I can't understand how was it that it wasn't included in "On Stage"!!! A shame, nothing less...
The last two songs are a bit of a surprise: two extended versions, first of the Yardbird's "Still I'm Sad", and "Do you close your Eyes", which, in their original studio format, were short tunes, the former being an instrumental take. But here, the band stretches them beyond recognition, turning them into 2 true classics. Ritchie is clearly enjoying his newfound freedom, and it shows in his playing; Dio is in top form, belting all the way into the stratosphere, Cozy is the heaviest drummer on earth since Bonzo Bonham, and while Tony Carey and Jimmy Bain play more discrete parts, they sure know how to make the best with what they are given.
All in all, this is a great record of a great band at the peak of their performing powers! Be warned, though: if you don't like extended versions, stick to the studio albums. Otherwise, GET IT!
Great Live album! Underrated.......2005-07-30
This show's the most talented group of musicians ever assembled playing freely and intensly.
Disc 1
1.Kill The King- 10/10 A great concert opener! A very fast paced track with a lot of energy. This track shows all of the musicians on it as it highlights Dio's amazing vocals, Blackmore's great fretboard work, Cozy Powell's excellent drum work, Jimmy Bain's fast solid bass work and Tony Carey's keyboard work.
2.Mistreated- 10/10 An excellent take on the Deep Purple blues classic here as Ronnie gives it more of an epic feel which is a good thing. Also a cool extended jam too.
3.Sixteenth Century Greensleeves- 10/10 One of Rainbow's classic tracks. Blackmore opens the song with the traditional song Greensleeves and goes into Rainbow's Mideval themed track. This song is a mix of heavy metal and renaissance.
4.Catch The Rainbow- 10/10 Rainbow's classic ballad is performed as good as the studio here with an extended jam of course. Dio's voice seems better here than on the studio version.
Disc 2
1.Man On The Silver Mountain - 10/10 A Very cool intro here by Blackmore. The track is faster than the studio version which isn't as good in my opinion but the keyboards add an interesting effect on this version. Also Blackmore's solo is excellent obviously.
2.Stargazer- 10/10 The Highlight of the whole album is this track, Rainbow's epic masterpeice performed live. Dio's as good vocally as on the studio and Ronnie tells the story of the song before Tony Carey's amazing keyboard solo/intro. Blackmore has an extended solo in the middle of the song which he improvises using arabic scales. Ronnie improvises the lyrics a little towards the end which adds to the intensity of this song.
3.Still I'm Sad- 10/10 One of Rainbow's best tracks! The version from On Stage is slightly better but this one is still amazing. Cozy Powell plays one of the best drum solos ever recorded and Dio's vocals are amazing and Blackmore starts shredding toward the end of the song.
4. Do You Close Your Eyes- 9/10 Much Better than the studio version here as theres more energy. This is not one of Rainbow's best tracks but still worth listening to. Good idea to add another Rising track to the album since this is the Rising tour.
Rainbow has done better performances...actually this is the band on an off night but they're still better than every other band on an off night.
Band
Ronnie James Dio- Vocals
Ritchie Blackmore- Guitar
Cozy Powell- Drums
Jimmy Bain- Bass
Tony Carey- Keyboards
Lacks preparation and post-production.......2005-01-07
I am an avid Rainbow fanatic. This album does exactly match up to "On Stage". Well , I am amusician invvolved in recording and I know that not all gigs are at 100%. This release is a typical case. There are mistakes in the songs and Blackmore going off on his tangents and Dio not quite reaching the bar he set.
I have waited for years/decades for the release of "Stargazer" by Rainbow with Dio. When I finally heard it I wished I had never heard it and now I know why it was never released. Dio is currently,(2003) doing it on his tour and his band did an outstanding job (with Doug Aldrich).
I suggest that a completist get this, but for a great release get "On Stage" instead
Live in 4 different german cities.......2004-12-21
Thats what this should be called, for thats what it is. %80 of the songs on this album can be found on the "On Stage" album, which, mind you, is all from the SAME show. it gets two stars for "star gazer" and thats it becuase "do you close your eyes" is just a average song and all of the rest sound exacty like they do on "On Stage". The main probablem with this is that its all taken from sevral different live shows and it sounds kind of stapled together unlike "On Stage" which is a smooth atmosheric, consistant live experience. How many people do you know that have been to a concert? most likely they will tell you about what songs were done that night and what experiences thay had ON THAT NIGHT, not sevral nights scattered across the country. just get ON STAGE, it blows this boot leg quality recording to hell.

How many times has this 2-CD/100 minute title been reissued?Does anybody know?I can see as to WHY it's been repeatedly released time after time. It's nothing short of top notch '70's hard rock performed by the classic Rainbow line-up of Blackmore/Dio/Bain/Carey/and Powell.I believe I used to have this on 8 track years ago.I cannot honestly remember the last time I heard the killer cuts like "Kill The King","Sixteenth Century Greensleeves" and "Stargazer"(I know I've heard Dio play that while out on tour before).Thoroughly enjoyed the extended guitar and keyboard noodling during "Man On The Silver Mountain".Great audio document of a tour that'll NEVER take place again,as it did here.So be sure to check it out when you get the chance. Will certainly remain in my current rotation stack.

Album Description
New from the late great Harmonica master, William Clarke, Live In Germany is a must for all blues harmonica fans. The heir apparent to Chicago's legacy of amplified blues harmonica, William Clarke was the first original new voice on his instrument to come along in quite some time; he became a sensation in blues circles during the late '80s and early '90s, stopped short by an untimely death in 1996. Clarke was a technical virtuoso and master of both the diatonic harp and the more difficult chromatic harp (the signature instrument of both Smith and Little Walter). Where many new harmonica players had become content to cop licks from the Chicago masters, Clarke developed his own style and vocabulary, building on everything he learned and moving beyond it. William Clarke was a multiple WC Handy Award Winner.
