Album Description
CAPTIVATING MUSIC FROM THE APPALACHIAN MOUNTAINS
They came across the ocean from the British Isles.
They sang the songs of their homeland in a new country.
They lived, loved, and died here.
This is the music of the ForeignLander.
Lydia McCauley documented folk music at the prestigious Appalachian Music Archive in Berea, Kentucky in the early 1980's and studied with some of the best folk musicians in the Appalachian region. Known today as a songwriter, McCauley returns to her roots in her fifth album, ForeignLander; a collection of innovatively arranged pieces from 17-20th Century Appalachia, beautifully performed by McCauley and her touring Ensemble, along with special guests. While careful to preserve Appalachian traditions in this album, Lydia creates a fresh and contemporary sound that pleases both traditional and progressive music audiences. Selections include: One Morning in May, Pretty Saro, The River Trilogy (arranged by producer Kurt Scherer), Barbara Allan and Stella (two favorite live performance pieces), a haunting version of Lover's Lament, and Swallow's Return, a joyful instrumental composed by L. McCauley.

Album Description
The controversial album of stunning and beautiful classical and renaissance styled instrumental music everyone's talking about.
Channeled thru by musician/composer Robert Kramer after a 3 hour hypnotic past life regression, to his amazement he discovers a previous existance as an obscure 16th century composer and lute player named Lucious Gray.
More incredibly, despite possessing no previous skill or training in classical music, Robert began to write song after song of beautiful and emotionally moving classical and renaissance pieces that defy explanation.
Hearing this beautiful album will make you a believer that we have indeed passed this way before. Listen and be touched forever by the Songs Of Past Lives!
Customer Reviews:
New music from yesteryear is gift to the ears and spirit.......2002-07-31
In today's world of screaming and loud rhythmic drum beats that vibrate one to the core, it is refreshing to have real music to listen to. Each song on this CD is unique to itself, but teams up with the others to make an extremely enjoyable ensemble. The music ranges between lighthearted happy, magestic regal, to fast and frenetic or deeply soul moving. The story behind the inspiration for the disc is certainly interesting, but the music is the reason to buy this very beautiful CD. Give yourself a gift that will last forever.

Customer Reviews:
Somewhere in my memory........2002-09-05
After the events of last year, home has never been more important. Even the home of your memory. This recording has all the emotions of family; laughing, crying, loving but without the schmaltz. Christmas Card is a message to all the people here and gone that we will remember every year when the weather gets a bit colder, you can smell firewood burning in the air, and your heart is a bit softer.

Customer Reviews:
Neil Young's 5th Album From November 1972.......2006-05-11
This was neil's soundtrack for his first film "Journey Through The Past". The documentary film was a hodpodge of television appearences of buffalo springfield, concert footage of crosby, stills, nash & young, rehersal footage of the harvest sessions and various footage concerning religion, The soundtrack contained an audio record of everything in the film from music to dialogue. Unlike most neil young records out there this one will mostly appeal to the die-hard fans (like me), there is a wealth of live and rehersal versions of the songs listed above, not the best sound thou since most here were transfered straight from film to the master tape, it's reasons like this that has kept journey through the past out of print on CD because neil can't seem to get the master tapes transfered to digital the way he wants them to sound, in 1995 the album almost made it to CD when the master tapes was processed thru HDCD technology (even test pressings of the CD were made, and a handfull are known to still exsist)but neil cancelled the release because he thought the results were no good (his 6th album "Time Fades Away" from 1973 is also still heald up for reasons similar to this.)i recamend this one strictly for the die-hard neil young fans, they'll find enough to enjoy on it but casual buyers will more than likely be bored to death with it. hopefully neil will bring this and time fades away back...in our lifetimes, until then you'll have to do with the editions already out there...vinyl, cassette & 8-track (if you can find them). hope this review was helpful, have a good day.
