There is an illustrated "Standard description of the correct appearance and scale of points" and a number of excellent photos of famous dogs of the day. This is a fascinating read for any Kerry Blue Terrier enthusiast or historian of the breed and also contains much information that is still useful and practical today. Many of the earliest dog breed books, particularly those dating back to the 1900s and before, are now extremely scarce and increasingly expensive.     I research the breed for a while prior purchasing a puppy, I wanted to make sure we are the right family for this dog. This book was very comprehensive and among all those I had looked at it was the one I purchase for the content and amount of information regarding the most important aspects a new dog owner ought to know. The price was right too.

    I was not impressed by this book. It starts out with a nice history about the breed, but everything else is very generic for any breed. It is a nice overall beginner dog book, but not worth it if you want to learn more of this unique breed.

    When i first got my kerry blue, there were no books about his breed except for this one. When i started reading it, it gave me alot of information to help me breed my dog, train him, and make him happy. i also learned more about his history! Great book! Although, i thought that alot of details were missing, so if you want to buy this book to get a good idea on how to treat/know more about kerries, i highly recommend this book!! :-)

    The book contains some nice pictures of Kerries and a little history. Most of the book, however, is generic about dogs in general. If you want to know anything substantial about the breed, this is not the book for you.

    Being one of the few inprint books available. This book is a good source of information on one of the canine worlds most whimsical breeds. Covers history, AKC standard, grooming, health and other topics that any novice would benefit from. A good book to own for the Kerry enthusiast!
