A handy little book that is very simple to read. The Essential Cocker is an excellent source for a simple overview of cockers, I purchased 2 more books on Cockers before purchasing my Cocker puppy. This book helped prepare me for some of the breed's indiosyncrasies.

This book provides very little specifics for the Cocker Spaniel breed. It's more of a training guide for raising a puppy. Save your money and buy a book more geared towards the Cocker Spaniel as a breed.

The Essential Cocker Spaniel is a great handbook giving specifics about the beloved Cocker Spaniel. Prior to owning a cocker any potential ower MUST read this book cover to cover. It is wonderful for reference after acquiring this wonderful breed of dog.

Photography in this book is fabulous. Winter and Churchill did their usual outstanding job.

    I read an informational book on the Cocker Spaniels. It was a very good book in my opinion. I learned that the entire Spaniel family was originally used in England more than 600 years ago. They are one of the prettiest and kindest in the Spaniel family. They often appear in major dog shows. I would imagine it would be good for ages 10-Adult. It would be great for a report.

    While this book did have useful and interesting information, along with great pictures it was poorly put together. The binding is awful and there is one of those rip-out ads in the middle of the book leaving you with that nice perforated cardboard glued down to one of the pages. It was a good read but I am sure there are much better books out there for the same amount of money.

    Hi Dr Ackerman

    Have you ever heard for a dogs feet clicking, I have a jack russell cross cocker spaniel, who's feet click when walking. Have you ever heard of anything similar? I am despartate for advise, Snoop is only 7 months old and we are rather worrid.
