Book Description
Imagine this. You buy a home, live in it, then buy another. You build your wealth through real estate—and then retire rich. It may sound too good to be true. But it’s not. It has happened, it’s happening now and it will continue to happen for millions of people over the next few decades. The question is, will it happen for you?
If you want the answer to be “yes,” then stop what you are doing and open this book. Read a few pages. Bach’s simple strategies make you rich where you sleep. All you have to do is follow his easy program to go from renter to owner, and from owner to Automatic Millionaire Homeowner. The rest is automatic!
What’s the secret to becoming a millionaire in real estate?
Since the runaway success of David Bach’s #1 New York Times bestseller The Automatic Millionaire, people all over the world have asked David the same question—is it really possible for me to get rich in real estate?
Now, in The Automatic Millionaire Homeowner, David Bach reveals why buying a home and investment properties is not only possible, it is the surest way to reach your seven-figures dreams on an ordinary income.
The Automatic Millionaire Homeowner starts with the powerful story of an average American couple with a modest income who stretch to buy their first house for $30,000 and retire 35 years later owning a home on a golf course and rental properties worth over three million dollars. Through their story you will learn the surprising fact that even if you have cheap rent you can’t get rich renting! You must first own a home, and make it the foundation on which you build your financial security.
What Makes The Automatic Millionaire Homeowner Essential:
You don’t need a big down payment to buy a home.
You don’t need great credit.
You should buy even if you have credit card debt.
You can buy a second home even if you’re still paying off the first.
You can get started in any market–boom or bust.
It’s easier to be a landlord than you think.
Whether you are a renter or already own a home, David Bach gives you a lifelong strategy for real estate based on timeless wisdom that is tried and true. He includes everything you need to know, with step-by-step instructions, including phone numbers and websites so you can get started right away. His road map to ownership is easy to follow and, best of all, it makes the process totally automatic.
As long as you’re alive, you have to live somewhere. Why not let where you live make you rich? David Bach will show you how.

Great New First Home Buyer Advice!.......2007-05-14
I bought the book not knowing what to expect , however it had so many good tips that are relevant to buying a home for the first time. It also extends great advice about real estate as an investment. I recommend it to anyone looking for good sound, structured advice about investing in a home.
What better way to help.......2007-05-01
David Bach couldn't be more right on with the "Automatic" part of his book. I am a real estate agent and for years when someone bought a house from me I would give them a fruit basket or gift card. Now I send them something of great value. I send them this book and only this book. They look a little strange at me at first but after they've read it they become excited and can't wait to begin their journey to be millionaires as homeowners and I got to be a part of it. The return to them will be great. The return to me will be great too.
Renters:Read this book.......2007-04-12
This book is a 5 star book if you are looking for a book to inspire you to be a first time home owner. 80% of this book explains the entire process of how to become a homeowner, it would have been very helpful to me before I bought my first home 16 years ago. He explains mortgages and how they work, what kind of real estate agent to use and what to look for in making your choices. 20% of this book explains why it is important financially to own your own home. For example: Homes rise in value on average 6% a year. So if your home is valued at $100,000 it will grow in value by $6,000 a year. This can add up quickly in equity and will turn out to be one of the greatest investments you have ever made. David Bach believes that home ownership is essential to becoming an automatic millionaire. This book briefly discusses how wealthy you can become by keeping your homes as rental properties as you trade up to larger homes. This book is not about "flipping" properties it is about owning them for the long term. I would highly recommend a beginner in real estate or personal finance to read this book it will be very useful, however this is not for current home owners or real estate investors. I will be giving this book as a gift to my children when they turn 18. Owning a home is essential to financial success, even though I am uncomfortable with Mr. Bach's advice to leverage debt for multiple houses. My first starter home made me $40,000 in 10 years when I sold it.
Want to lose your home and your savings? Buy this book........2007-04-11
Shame on David Bach for releasing this book at the very peak of the housing bubble. (Actually, he released it about 9 months past the peak.) With this book David Bach is giving people advice that would normally be good advice, but because of his poor timing it may actually get people into financial trouble. Get the original "Automatic Millionaire" instead.
Not bad, but spend your "latte factor" money on something else.......2007-03-27
This isn't a bad book, the advice is mostly sound and it did make me think about investment real estate (I already own my home). However, it's not a particularly deep book, either. I read the whole thing on a 1-hour commute. Granted, I skimmed much of the stuff about mortgages as that was already very familiar to me, but it's still a very quick read.
I found one piece of advice downright dubious- the suggestion that you enroll in a biweekly payment plan to pay down your mortgage faster is only good advice if the interest rate on your mortgage is higher than you'd likely get elsewhere. For most conventional mortgages, this isn't so. Otherwise, you're far better off keeping your low-interest mortgage and investing the money you would have spent paying it off early in an index fund. And, you could even set up such an account with an automatic monthly deposit. Just add the yearly fees for a biweekly plan to one payment on your mortgage, divide by 12, and have that amount automatically invested each month. If you have a conventional 30-year mortgage, you'll be far ahead with this approach.
That criticism aside, the basic approach of the book is good. It's geared towards long-term thinking instead of getting rich quick. I know that the "Latte Factor" is rehashed from a previous book, but it is extremely sound advice. My wife and I did this exercise on our own long before I'd ever heard of David Bach and it has paid off handsomely for us.
If this book inspires you to purchase a home instead of renting, it's worth every penny. But, why don't you save your pennies and get it from the library? In my opinion, there's too little meat in it to justify purchasing it.

Customer Reviews:
The BEST TRAINING KIT........2007-03-20
People interested in buying this book must know it is out of date. It was released in the age of Windows Server 2003, without service pack one. So it does not cover WSUS, but SUS. It also does not contain information about SP1 improvements and now SP2, however, it is a book about planning and implementing security strategies, which makes it a book above the time.
If you have money and are interest in security, or if you are intended to pass the exam, buy this book.
The text is clear and comprehensive. The content is pretty amazing which demonstrates de knowledgement of the author about what he writes. Such knowledgement is provenient from his experience working with Windows in exposed environments.
This is not only a theoretical guide of security, but also a practical one. The excercises hep you to understand and record it in your mind.
Finally, buy this book.
A must..........2006-08-21
I haven't read this yet. I'm still going through the XP book, but if this one is even close, this book is a must. An easy read and well laid out. The accompanying CDs are very beneficial also.
Excellent guide.......2006-02-14
Any book from Tony is probably going to be good. This book is no exception. It is very well written and organized. It covers all aspects of Windows Server 2003 security. It is not quite comprehensive as you'll need the earlier 2003 Server books (or know those topics well enough) to fully cover the test. It includes good chapter summaries and practice labs. This book will also be useful to you as a reference after you have passed the exam.
Best study guide I've read yet.......2005-08-10
This book is an excellent resource and preparation for the 70-299 exam. I've read through a lot of exam books over the years and this is the one that prepared me the best. Upon finishing this book, you feel as though you really understand the material, rather than feeling that you still have holes in your understanding, as you often do with other books. This book is comprehensive, well-laid out, and has a lot of good practice questions in the book and on CD. Microsoft Training Kit CDs are often quite meaty, and this is no exception. I highly recommend this book.
Did I read the same book as these other reviewers?.......2005-07-13
This book offers good coverage in some areas and fairly weak coverage in others. I agree with some of the other reviewers that this book should have been marketed as a study guide and not a training kit. It does contain some good to know nuggets of info, however it is far from being a complete guide on security, or preperation for the exam. I bought the book based on the reviews I read on this site and will be returning it. I can only guess that the previous reviewers work for MS Press.
On the 13th page of this book the author mentions how important the steps of kerberos authentication are, after giving an incorrect explanation of them and telling you to memorize them for the exam. (steps 1-3 are incorrect. check pg.245 of the Active Directory Technical Reference for an accurate description) Like most of the self-paced training kits from MS Press there is a certain lack of depth to the information in this book. There is alot of pertinent security information missing from this book both for the exam, and more importantly for securing a network in real life. The book seemed more like a conglomeration of useful facts for the exam than a "training guide".
A much better book in this arena is "Microsoft Windows Server 2003 PKI and Certificate Security" by Brian Komar with the Microsoft PKI Team -MS Press
I would also recommend the Windows Server 2003 Active Directory technical Reference. -MS Press
The two of these books combined will give you a complete and accurate base of information to pass this exam, and several others.

Customer Reviews:
do not buy this book.......2007-05-07
I bought three CCS review guides to prepare for the CCS exam. This one was NO help whatsoever. I had been studying with my other two books (AHIMA's and Thompson's) and picked this one up the weekend before the test. I liked that it had CCS-like exams to take on a CD. I was studying with a friend of mine so we both decided to take the pre-test. This was the day before we took the exam. I scored -103, yes negative 103 and she scored 30, meaning we both flunked. We were so discouraged. so threw that book aside and called it a day. The CD and the book gave us no hint as to what we did wrong with the test, what we needed to study further. No help whatsoever.
We both took the CCS the next day and passed with flying colors. If we had let this book discourage us we would not now be both CCS certified.
If I could give it no stars I would

Book Description
MAKE MONEY IN SHORT-SALE FORECLOSURES
Foreclosures are the most profitable way to invest in real estate. But most real estate books on foreclosures don't tell you how to invest in short-sale foreclosuresproperties with even more profit potential than regular foreclosures. A short-sale foreclosure is a lender accepting a loan payoff for less than the amount owed. This comprehensive new guide from renowned real estate authors Chantal and Bill Carey covers all the ins and outs of short-sale foreclosure investing, from finding properties to negotiating with lenders, to closing the deal and making a bundle. Inside you'll find all the information you need to succeed:
- Finding great short-sale foreclosure deals
- Dealing with owners in financial distress
- When to buy short-sale foreclosures
- Creating equity in foreclosure properties
- Writing successful short-sale offers
- FHA, VA, and private mortgage insurance short-sales
- Purchasing short-sale properties at auction
- Understanding escrow, closing, and title insurance
- Flipping short-sale properties
Customer Reviews:
Slightly helpful - Maybe.......2007-01-27
The book has a couple good points, and is probably benefical to a novice pre-foreclosure investor, but is not worth the time or money of any pre-foreclosure investor thats ever closed a deal before. Most of the examples in the book 'window dressed' profits on deals by not listing all expenses involved.
Solid information.......2007-01-16
I found this book pretty good.... It definitely spelled out all the details of short sales.... I think for property investors trying to understand exactly what is involved with short sale purchases this book is perfect. The book was written at a level that I enjoyed....not overly complicated.
Review.......2006-08-13
I was extemely disappointed in this book. In the title ........How to Bypass Owners and Buy Directly from Lenders....Yet on page 93 you learn that this is NOT possible as you must have the owners permission prior to ever contacting their lender. I found the title misleading as to the content.
One of my top three real estate investing books.......2006-05-21
This book will help you accurately determine the market value of a property. Looking back, I can take Bill and Chantal's way to determine this and realize my mistakes. There were times I had properties in my hand but was too low on my market value comps. Also what I learned from this book was when to know it is a property for a short sale (less than 15% equity) and when it is not. Did you know that 95% of investors out there, according to Bill and Chantal, will walk away and not bother with short sales? This book outlines the steps to follow the process of negotiating a short sale and have it come out in your favor. Very good read!!! It is hot off the press.

Best Security+ book.......2007-06-05
This book became my primary reference for studying for the Security+ certification. It is superior to the other two Security+ books I used in studying. There were a few errors (for ex. you really can't demodulate WiFi with a PC sound card) which I submitted to the publisher - I'm still waiting any form of acknowledgement. The included test question programs on CD were very useful - particularly the Palm flashcards. Bottom line I comfortably passed the exam, but I'd recommend augmenting your study with secondary resources to ensure relevant points are driven home. I would recommend this book for aspiring Security+ professionals.

This is my second Sybex guide (first was a iNet+ book from Sybex) and one of the things that impresses me with these books is how I've noticed the questions more closely match the questions on the final CompTIA test more than any other study books I've read! Even more so than PrepLogic Practice exams (which is somewhat disappointing considering what they cost...) This book in particular is a very good read and includes a CD with hundreds of additional testing questions on it. There are mini-tests at the end of every chapter as well as a fairly detailed glossary.
Very good and well worth the read........2007-05-14
I thought this book was very well written. I found it usefull in reevaluating the security of our own network. Although this book is not the end all be all of network/computer security, I feel that if covers the field pretty good. Anyone who is looking to work in network security would find this book a good place to start. And then get your hands dirty in the field. There is no other substitute.

Excellent Place to Start.......2007-05-12
I used this book along with books with from Syngress (Security + Study Guide and DVD Training System), McGraw-Hill (Security+ Certification All-in-One Exam Guide), and Que ((The Ultimate Security+ Certification Exam Cram 2 Study Kit (Exam SYO-101) (Exam Cram 2)) and passed the exam with a score of 780. The bottom line is that the more practice questions you are exposed to, the better off you are going to be.
